  1. QUOTE (Noonskadoodle @ Apr 5, 2013 -> 03:31 PM) Chris BLEEPIN Davis just hit a grand slam hahaha my goodness. Hitting .600 4 homers & 16 RBIS!!! so far. YIKES That looked like a freakin' pop up and just flew out of there. It's sad that I'm just waiting for the positive PED test on him now.
  2. Wade Davis' Royal debut not going well. Phillies hitting him around to the tune of 4 ER 9 Hits in 3 IP
  3. I don't know if this has ever been brought up, but exactly how long are they planning on feasibly keeping Wrigley alive? a 100-year old building after $500 million in renovations is still a 100 year old building. Cubs fans an management really need to let go. Sometimes nostalgia and the classic park get in the way of modern 21st century baseball.
  4. Really hope Robin uses at least one bench players tonight. The only candidates who don't need a day off are Beckham, Flowers and Rios. Literally anyone else could be subbed out for one game. Since it's a righty maybe Kepp takes a seat and Conor gets a few swings. It's a long season, the sooner Robin starts getting bench players some starts the sooner maybe he can find a rhythm to getting these guys regular AB's and not doing an Ozzie Sunday line-up BS.
  5. Haha day one of Minor League ball and already a rainout. The first of 80 this season I'm sure.
  6. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 06:30 PM) I noticed that during spring training. When you're carrying extra weight in baseball, you better be good. Buehrle looks like if he just gave up, he could be 300 pounds within a year. Yeah he was never a svelte ballplayer, but this season is pretty noticeable.
  7. Buehrle getting rocked by the Indians... don't miss that. Also he looked more "round" than usual. Maybe hit the Tim Horton's too much already...
  8. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 04:15 PM) Poor Mike Stanton. I feel for that dude. And I know the Marlins, along with the Astros, are above and beyond terrible, but the Nationals are just nice. They might've won it all last year had they not shut Stras down. Full year of Stras and Harper is not going to be very fun for the NL. #nos***Sherlock Who?
  9. QUOTE (JoshPR @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:40 PM) Jordan Danks last year against Oakland That's not what I'm talking about. I mean a comeback in the 9th that includes a walk off hit. That game was tied at 3 going into the ninth. Basically if De Aza had hit a blast today. Something like that...
  10. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 02:08 PM) Especially when it is only ever s***ty pitchers we are tipping our cap too. Yeah, you tip your cap to Verlander or Stras, you don't tip it to Chen or Guthrie...
  11. Hate losing the last game even if you win a series. When was the last 9th inning comeback that included a walk-off at home? I think there was one in 2011 (vs. Oakland I wanna say), but I'm not so sure about last year. Certainly seems like it's been forever.
  12. Still no answer for Guthrie. There's tape of him right? Getting mauled by other AL and NL teams last year? Maybe it's digital files now. Have the Sox not updated ther Quicktime and cant watch them?
  13. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 4, 2013 -> 11:37 AM) For someone who complains about someone saying the same thing over and over again and being predictable, you sure do say the same things over again and are very predictable. Gotta learn from the Master I suppose.
  14. Wait... wait. Hawk thinks highly of Salvador Perez? This is news to me....
  15. Please come up with a good strategy to actually hit Guthrie this year. He's a junk baller, but he's efficient as hell. Gotta not swing for the fences and get some solid hits.
  16. So Sergio Santos still stinks in non-save situations. (I actually have no idea if he is the Blue Jays closer in 2013)
  17. QUOTE (flavum @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 06:52 PM) This is where you have to be careful what you're rooting for. Sox may be in competition for a wildcard with the Blue Jays at the end of the season. That's why I'm just rooting for the Sox to get the 89th win, and see where we are. Not in game TWO Now it's just fun to see your division rival fall apart...
  18. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 05:43 PM) The Yankees are awful. I know they're banged up. But that's because they're old as f***. Easily their worst roster since, like, 1993. Assuming they don't turn it on and get all these guys back healthy and drinking out of the fountain of youth.... what a HELL of a run. From 1996-2012 there was a legitimate chance of them winning a World Series and they did five times in that 16 year span. I'm almost 30 so most of my life has been this dominant Yankee empire, I don't really know what it's like to have a s***ty Yankee team out there. It's gonna be fun.
  19. QUOTE (chw42 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) They built their club around a two fat guys who can hit. What do you expect? Well they had the same formula and rode it to the World Series last year. I made fun of their defense so much last year and claimed it would be their downfall in the division. Not so much. Having Price, Miggy, and Verlander healthy and doing what they do overcomes A LOT.
  20. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Apr 3, 2013 -> 05:34 PM) Keppinger wasnt part of that either True. I'm just thinking of lefty vs. righty. And they're not going to give Paulie a day off this soon in the season I wouldn't imagine. Wouldn't be at all surprised if Wise is starting instead of Viciedo however. Even though he dropped a fly ball too, I don't think the Tank matches up with Guthrie very well (Though I could be wrong, maybe he mashed him last year)
  21. So with Guthrie tomorrow do you change the line-up a bit? Maybe Conor gets a start at third? Someone who wasn't part of the domination at the hands of Guthrie last year....
  22. 1/3 of the way to the total amount of wins vs. the Royals in 2012!
  23. C'mon De Aza.... Stop looking like you're going to be 0-the season
  24. Hawk sounded so excited to have an easy call haha
