  1. f***.... The..... Tigers.
  2. Basically the two biggest (really, the only two) factors to win a division crown on display today: GET OFF TO A HOT START. BEAT THE CENTRAL. (Bonus... Beat the team that has owned you for the last few seasons) Gotta get off on the right foot.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Mar 31, 2013 -> 07:04 PM) http://sports.yahoo.com/news/mlb--mlb-open...-172007462.html Newsflash. White Sox 9th in Opening Day payroll, while attendance is mired in the 20's (I think it was 23rd or 24th, of the top of my head). Dodgers +124 % increase in payroll. Absolutely disgusting. They deserve to stay home in October.
  4. Now comes that fun game where you drive yourself crazy over thinking it. Detroit picked by so many, so it won't happen right? Or is that just a White Sox thing? There is no doubt in my mind that if it was all Sox picks they would tank or some catasophic injury or injuries would befall the team. They do better when everyone doubts them, but s*** what's that like to not have that problem? Teams that have year in year out expectations from major sports publications easily matching them. Time will tell if Detroit can meet them. Yes I'm biased, yes I've said I hate Detroit several times here, and I've said I almost root for ANYONE to win the division except them (not just the Sox) but f***, when you spending that much money year in and year out you just don't deserve to be rewarded. It's why I hope the Dodgers fail (and was glad they did last year) and why I rooted against the Yankees and Red Sox the last decade plus...
  5. What happened to Q being the third starter?
  6. Keenyn Walker throws like a girl. It's weird.
  7. Pretty sure I haven't seen Keppinger show any sort of human emotion thus far this spring...
  8. I'm honestly pissed if I'm Santiago. Seems like they don't even want to give him a chance this season
  9. To paraphrase Mean Girls Robin/Coop need to stop trying to make Axlerod happen.
  10. Hector dealing right now. 5K's in 3 IP.
  11. Yeah Hector pitching like a 5th starter. Ugh... Unless Axe pitches a few perfect games to start the season, this is easily one of Robin's worst personnel decisions. Hector has the stuff and the poise and is a lefty which is always a bonus.
  12. QUOTE (Brian @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 03:54 PM) So catastrophic he came back and won the MVP. ? Well I'm sure that's not the recommended path to winning it haha
  13. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Mar 29, 2013 -> 01:42 PM) Posey got Paid! 9 years, $167 million, covers 2013-2021, with an option $22 million year at the end. Also includes a full no trade clause for the duration of the contract. Largest contract ever for a player with less than 3 years service time, more than doubling the contract CarGo got at that point. Buster Posey will still be under contract in Hillary Clinton's second term (hi-o). You don't pay out the ass for Offensive Superstars that are catchers. Just doesn't work. Posey has already had a catastrophic injury because of the position he plays and his body is just going to break down over time. The deal is especially bad unless the NL adopts the DH soon haha. Start breaking in that First Basemen's glove, Buster.
  14. I'm not a religious man, but I do believe in Baseball Gods and they don't look too kindly on trying to buy championships... See Dodgers last year (and this year) Detroit slowly eeking into that territory. Verlander not a Free Agent pickup, but still massively paid contract for a superstar.
  15. The Tank is gonna have to be hitting bombs cause the guys on in front of him aren't gonna be flying around the bases if he hits one to the gap haha
  16. I Love it. So much $$$ tied up in ONE starter and 2 DH's. This means Scherzer is all but gone when his contracts expires...
  17. QUOTE (kev211 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 11:24 PM) Or maybe they put them in both places? Someone asked Gonzo on twitter and his response was "more OF advertising". Meh. Guess its needed but whatever.
  18. Yeah checking random publications these last few days (Grantland, Yahoo!) every down on the Sox this season. Lot's of 3rd or 4th and ALMOST UNANIMOUS fellating of the Tigers as "far and way the best team" etc. Good. Always better to sneak in there, and out perform expectation like always.
  19. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 28, 2013 -> 12:57 PM) Axe had a better spring, and they probably would rather have Santiago stay in the role they want him to be in for the season. It keeps the entire pen stable. Well the role they wanted for him was wrong in the first place. He should start no matter what. In Charlotte or Chicago. Not in the pen.
  20. #makeanimpact in our bathrooms
  21. Based on the pics Gonzo has been tweeting the left field wall should look different this season with the retired numbers. moving
  22. Saw the highlight of Sanchez's homer. Christ he OBLITERATED that ball. Will he hit 2 HR's this season though? Time will tell haha
  23. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 26, 2013 -> 04:26 PM) Axelrod officially named 5th starter. He'll start vs Felix Hernandez on April 6th. So that's an L. 4-1
  24. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Mar 25, 2013 -> 07:54 PM) We can just trade them Dye Only for Homer Bailey...
  25. Floyd already in mid-season form today. Jeez...
