  1. Gwynn Jr. rocking some sweet hammer pants... Jeez.
  2. Dammit. Just realized ill never be able to use my nickname for Soptic if he was terrible: Jeff Septic Tank or just "Septic"
  3. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 07:10 AM) He says that now, but things change when money is involved. So true. Didn't CC tell the Yankees "No" and everyone was praising him and a few days and $$$ later he was in pinstripes?
  4. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 11:39 AM) Lineup for tomorrow...Rios 3, Dunn 5 https://twitter.com/DanHayesCSN/status/3050...7708928/photo/1 Good. As it should be in April....
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 22, 2013 -> 10:47 AM) Fun fact: Gillaspie's only ML homer was inside-the-park http://sanfrancisco.giants.mlb.com/video/p...ent_id=19749161 How is that not a triple, and a error? Also Brian Wilson's reaction is priceless haha
  6. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/mlb-big-leag...23554--mlb.html Good for you David Price. It's baseball, not some Office with Cubicles...
  7. s***'s On.... Not a big surprise that Miggy is a "me first" piece of s*** kinda player really* (I mean, he plays in Detroit -- you were expecting class) Glad they got their asses swept. *Want him hitting third for the Sox? Of course I would.
  8. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 10:42 AM) he still has a hitch though. So more 89 mph fastballs down the middle BLOWING GORDON AWAY again?
  9. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 10:28 AM) Any reason for keeping olive oil out of your diet? Its fairly healthy for you to have some oil. I'm just trying to keep the weight off, and oils especially olive oil are very fattening. I get my oils from Nuts/Seeds with a much lower caloric intake...
  10. Since both my Lady and I don't eat meat, we tend to make A LOT of vegetable based dishes. We just take the ends of s*** we are chopping put it in a big tupperware container in the freezer and in about a weeks time we cook up some delicious broth for soups etc.
  11. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 09:54 AM) A little bit of oil won't hurt, plus you get better color and flavor cooking with oil. Well like I said, it's for me. I personally try to have the least amount of oil in my diet as possible. If you're worried about flavor though, what I try to do is cook them in some fresh homemade vegetable broth (but that of course involves a whole different step of freezing veggies making the broth haha)
  12. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 12:02 AM) I like it. Eye level stays the same, swings through the ball a bit better. It's a little quieter too which is what I've always felt was the biggest flaw in his swing. Getting him hitting well would be monstrous. Yeah I like it too, but that is such a massive issue with Gordon since 2009, his batting stance and swing changes so much throughout the year. He can't seem to keep it consistent and repeatable.
  13. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Feb 20, 2013 -> 05:48 AM) You will need: Cook the green pepper & onion in some olive oil until they are soft. Add the 2 cans of beans and the can of salsa. Do not drain the beans. When it's hot, it's ready to eat. Put it over some brown rice or quinoa. If you have some meat cook it and throw it in, I often use leftover chicken. This is awesome, especially considering how easy it is. My only .02 to make it healthier would be try cooking the peppers and onion in water instead of oil.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 05:28 PM) By my count, we have 1 infield utility man, Angel Sanchez. They may go with Danks and Wise as the backup of's, but if they want a utility guy who can play middle infield positions, I don't see anyone else. A broom with a White Sox jersey and hat? I think it could hit .185 over 215 AB's
  15. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 05:20 PM) I'll bet you are thrilled he is in camp this year... Maybe he's a funny guy? Unlike 2007 there is NO ROOM FOR HIM ON THIS TEAM. And Ozzie is not in charge of putting together the team.
  16. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 05:14 PM) Again, they're using the ends to justify the means, but that year PECOTA/BP stated that the Sox offense was going to be good and the pitching was going to be awful. The pitching was bad, but that was mostly due to a bullpen that was disasterous (only one regular reliever had an ERA under 4, and that was Jenks who had probably the best year of his career) and 3 good starting pitchers. Meanwhile, the Sox had the worst offense in the league by pretty much any measure you could find, so that was a clear outlier, and even then, they barely got it. Oh, and because of the catastrophe that was the offense - they probably would have won 74-76 had they kept Iguchi and Mackowiak, but what was the point? - they got 1634 PAs out of players with a .645 OPS or less. That doesn't include the 235 they got out of Podsednik (.668). And realize that that .645 was the best - out of f***ing Erstad - out of the entire group of those players. Andy Gonzalez got 215 of those and he put up an astounding .529 OPS. So yeah, if they want to hang their hat on that, they can, but it literally took everything going wrong for that forecast to be right. Easily one of the Top 3 worst players I've ever seen in a Sox uniform, based on sucking while somehow still getting AB's. A double-whammy. His name make me shutter.
  17. The way Paulie was hitting during the wrist injury.... the numbers Johnson would have put up were at least gonna be comparable...
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 16, 2013 -> 09:17 AM) Rick Hahn on Talking Baseball said Hawkins "could very well start the season at High-A Winston-Salem". Wouldn't surprise me at all if the Sox brass think they have their Harper/Trout in Hawkins, and want to see him in the bigs in a few years.
  19. I personally think the DH should be in both leagues, but I understand the hesitation. They should at the very least test it out with ALL Interleague games. If the pitchers could actually hit/gave a s***/worked on hitting it would be a different story, but all they are is a automatic K or Sac Bunt. (And yes every once and a while a pitcher can hit, but they are abnormalities. 90% of all pitchers suck at hitting and are injury risks on the basepaths when they do luck into actual hits)
  20. Of the two biggest spenders this off-season who makes the playoffs and who tanks? I think the Blue Jays will make the second wildcard, and the Dodgers just miss out on it.
  21. QUOTE (flavum @ Feb 19, 2013 -> 09:15 AM) Another reason why Sale should start the opener...it takes the bat out of his hands in Washington. Start him Monday and Sunday in Chicago, and let Peavy, Floyd, and Quintana/Danks hit in Washington. I can't believe they instituted year round inter league without making the DH mandatory for both leagues.
  22. Okay, so we know they underrate the Sox consistently... What about everyone else? How has their projections gone for the other 29 for the last few years?
  23. I think I remember Gordon putting on some muscle before the '10 season. Or maybe '11. Which ever season it was where he had a hot week to start off the season then went into the crapper.
  24. I honestly can't remember the last time hearing a manager turned down an extension. Can any of you?
