QUOTE (Marty34 @ Jan 31, 2013 -> 07:01 PM) He might be worth it to the Rangers though. I'm not quite sure how good Olt can be given he's already 24. 24? Who will we platoon him with though?!

I do agree a middle of the order lefty impact bat would be nice, but really, is ONE more lefty in the lineup really gonna make that much of a difference? Even if it was Hamilton he's still one guy. Paulie, Rios, Flowers, Beckham, Viciedo, Ramirez and Keppinger are all still righties, against all those other righty pitchers in the Central. s*** if Robin is gonna be pitching this pipe dream of players striking out less and making more contact from players who strike out a lot and don't put the ball into play, why not just try and preach hitting righties better too? All three have an equally low chance of happening based on the personnel.

Didn't Gio's Dad have some other issues back when Gio was in High School or something?

This has to be the first time in a long time there are no new stadiums being built in baseball....

Coop'll fix him. Quintana 2.0 etc.

If they changed uniforms it would weed out real fans from "fashion fans" (probably more of an issue for me in California, than in Chicago) So many times I see guys in Sox hats and want to say something, but there are tell tale signs to keep my mouth shut. Chief among them: Flat Bill, Wearing Crooked, and/or sticker still left on. If I see a guy with a kind of worn down hat with the bent bill, I can make a pretty good guess that he's an actual Sox fan and not just wearing it cause it's "cool"

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 02:32 PM) Oh I thougth you were talking next year. I could still see this year for a legit cup of coffee, ala the 6 games that Thompson got, but I see him primarily playing in Winston-Salem and Birmingham. Yeah if Hawkins mashes I wouldn't be shocked if he spent the second half in AA. I think the Sox desperately want to produce a super star position player from their system and believe Hawkins might be the best bet for that.

QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 01:53 PM) I don't think that's crazy at all. If Hawkins is in Charlotte this year he will have had an amazing season... He'd be on track for a Trout/Harper like early call up in 2014.
-
Hawkins would have to hit .500 with 40 bombs by June or something ridiculous for this to happen, but it would be awesome to see an outfield of Mitchell, Thompson, and Hawkins in Charlotte next year. Cause I like that OF, especially defensively. Mitchell and Thompson in Charlotte in 2013 is more reasonable...

Walker screams trade bait to me. The kind of trade where he gets called up to the big leagues on another team because that team lacks depth, performs admirably for a bit and Soxtalk FREAKS THE f*** OUT. haha Hawkins, Thompson, and Mitchell are better OF prospects with higher ceilings I think...

Added a new wrinkle to my variation of Overnight Oats: A couple of spoonfuls of Cacao. Holy delicious... Also swapped out almond milk for Flax milk. It's a little thinner which I like...

Chris could gain 40 lbs and I don't think he'd look much different haha

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jan 28, 2013 -> 07:22 AM) That's odd, since the White Sox, more than any organization, have changed their uniform/logo/color set. It's actually more White Sox to change the black and silver. (silver, wtf, do you mean gray?) The White Sox were more associated with red and blue than black and white for almost their entire history. http://chicago.whitesox.mlb.com/cws/history/uniforms.jsp 1906 - white and blue 1912 - white and navy blue 1917 - white and navy blue 1932 - white, blue, red, yellow, fugly 1939 - white and red 1951 - white, black, and red - basically today's uniforms with red outlines 1969 - white and blue 1971 - white and red 1976 - white and blue and collared and shorts and just f***ing terrible! 1982 - white, red, blue 1991 and on - white, black, gray (and sometimes sleeveless) To say you'll stop being a Sox fan if they change their uniform color scheme, when it's only been black/gray for 15% of the franchise's history, shows two things - 1 your ties to the Sox clearly aren't deep, 2 you are clueless on Sox history Thank you. The Silver thing has always been weird. Maybe in the early 90's it was a little more silver, but it's just grey now and even that is just the outline of the logo on the home whites. I imagine this weird hated of blue comes from the fact that the Cubs also wear blue....

It's nice to stress it, but it ain't gonna happen with the way the lineup is constructed.

Saw Kendrick Lamar on SNL (never even heard of him until tonight) is he supposed to be "good" or "bad", cause based on the song which seemed to only have the lyrics "drink" and "die" in it repeated over and over.... I'd put him in the "bad" category haha (you know super white hip hop expert that I am haha)

Thorton rocking a sweet beard... Hope he keeps it.

QUOTE (SouthsideDon48 @ Jan 26, 2013 -> 09:48 AM) The day the Sox stop wearing black and silver is the day I stop being a white sox fan. Seriously, why are a lot of people unappreciative of the iconic uniforms the sox wear right now? Why do people want the white sox to wear blue??? Hell, it was nauseating last season when I had to put up with the sox wearing those stupid red uniforms on Sunday home games. It really did piss me off, because Sunday games were games I was able to watch on tv during my hectic schedule, and I get confronted with them wearing stupid red uniforms that the Red Sox should be wearing. Looking at this.... They've worn a shade of blue in almost every uniform iteration except this one. So it's not an odd request....
-
My boredom with the current uniforms started a few years back when they would seemingly wear the black alternate jersey every other day. In the last few seasons its dropped down a lot but, I'd still be in favor of a change. It's not like they're the Yankees or something where it's been the same jersey forever. It's been 20+ years for these ones but its not like they didn't change uniforms 7000 times before they landed on the current ones. Changing uniforms is part of the history of the franchise.
-
What exactly would a 1993 throwback entail? A Comiskey patch and no names on the back of the jerseys? I think that's all... Side note/Bitter argument: I would be totally in favor of some new uniforms soon. Nothing "new" really, my idea would just be a variation on the 1917 uniform and logo. With a navy blue hat with white S-O-X instead of that pinstripe hat.

Tough for Chicago to prove last season's surprising run wasn't
Cali replied to BaseballNick's topic in Pale Hose Talk
KC beat the Sox head to head last year and STILL finished 13 entire games behind the Sox in the division. Until they figure out how to beat ANYONE else, they're still gonna finish behind the Sox. Even if that is spots 3 and 4 in the division haha. -
Can't wait to hear Melton attempt to say "Keppinger"....

Has a city turned on an athlete they ADORED any faster than the Chicago Cub fans disowned Sosa? I mean 10+ years ago he could do NO WRONG and now they're trying to airbrush him out of the history of Chicago Sports...

Me and my lady have made a simple variation of the overnight oats before: Cup of rolled oats (either bulk or bob's Red Mill variety) mashed up banana, teaspoon of vanilla, and a handful of Chia Seeds all drowned in almond milk. Then we will add some agave in the morning or add some fresh blueberries or strawberries. Haven't had it in a while though. Might have to hop back on the band wagon haha

QUOTE (SOXOBAMA @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 03:07 PM) Hahn said on Comcast, that a few additions to the club could happen this week In Kenny's 9 years, I don't think he ever said that once haha.

QUOTE (Reddy @ Jan 22, 2013 -> 10:13 AM) out of curiosity, what do you cook with if not oil? most, if not all, cooking sprays are a lot worse for you than just using real EVOO, coconut, or other good oils (hemp, pumpkin, grapeseed, etc, etc) I try not to use oil whenever I can, but if I do use it, I use Coconut Oil I sub it for whatever oil a recipe suggests. If I'm making veggies, like kale or broccoli ill usually fill the sauce pan with just a little water and steam them that way instead of using oils at all.
