  1. World Series over. Let the rampant speculation and anxiety begin!
  2. Alright Hahn... The floor is yours.
  3. Cabrera with the bat on the shoulder. Love it. Also, I always assumed Scutaro was a white guy from the US haha.
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 28, 2012 -> 12:43 PM) I wanna know when the NL passed the AL in terms of winning the big ones. For someone obsessed with 2005 you really like the ignore past statistics.
  5. So do the Giants wrap it up tonight? Or does Scherzer salvage a game for the Tigers?
  6. Pure domination.
  7. What a f***ing weapon Lincecum is out of the pen for SF. Filthy.
  8. Giants only need to win one in Detroit really and then take it home to win. Ill say Giants in 6.
  9. So how many times does Volstad shut out the Sox next year?
  10. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Oct 26, 2012 -> 10:21 AM) I know greg is not young Makes it that much sadder...
  11. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 11:17 PM) Maybe his family likes it in Chicago? Maybe he likes it? Well great for him and his family if that's the case, but I don't really want a GM in title only. If Kenny is really the GM then just stay the GM. Seems pointless to just pretend this guy is something he's not. That shouldn't be how a baseball front office is presented to fans.
  12. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 08:19 PM) If you could do your same job that you enjoyed, but could get a raise due to a title change you wouldn't do it? We have normal jobs. Baseball GM isn't normal. I would think what you really cared about was to be giving the keys to a baseball franchise and be able to make all the personnel moves BY YOURSELF. If Hahn couldn't get that in Chicago, he could have easily gotten it somewhere else and get paid the same if not more. I hope Kenny can take a hands off approach, but that seems impossible.
  13. QUOTE (flavum @ Oct 23, 2012 -> 07:15 AM) Tigers in 5 QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Oct 24, 2012 -> 07:46 AM) Tigers in 5 seems like a safe prediction Is that your final answer?
  14. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 05:57 PM) $$$$$ If that's the case I already have no respect for the new GM. If he's just taking the money to be Kenny's b**** and be the GM in name only? No thank you.
  15. QUOTE (Jake @ Oct 25, 2012 -> 05:12 PM) ...and why do we assume this has any meaning whatsoever? Kenny is still his boss, this is going to be like Theo and his little friend until I hear something different. My guess is they'll be unclear about it so that if things go well, it helps Hahn get a real job and if things go poorly, KW can take the blame. I mentioned this before, but why would Hahn take a job if he isn't the one making the moves? He's always on the lists of top GM candidates, so why not take a job elsewhere where you have more control if Kenny is just gonna be in charge? Seems pointless to take the Sox job if that's the case.
  16. Congrats to Rick. Hopefully he'll be able to do his own things without Kenny being the puppet master....
  17. Giants gotta win tonight, can't go into Comerica with a split since Detroit is damn near impossible to beat at home.
  18. If they are just rebuilding and lose a good portion of this team to free agency and trades, go ahead and give Gordon one more year If they're gonna try and compete, they can't have a black hole at second base offensively. His defense does not make up for his bat.
  19. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2012 -> 11:07 PM) Then it might help winning the WS or all star game once every so often. It's pretty embarrassing. So the 13 years All Star Game winning streak for the AL from '97-'09 doesn't count? (Not that an exhibition game should matter in deciding what league is better) or the AL's 8 World Series wins in that same time frame? And the AL interleague record is as follows: 2,081-1,883. Almost 200 games over .500, so yeah, superior. You're just glomming on to the last two years because the NL has won both the All Star Game and World Series, which is a grand total of 14 games while ignoring the much bigger sample of almost 4,000 games in which the AL has completely dominated the NL.
  20. QUOTE (greg775 @ Oct 24, 2012 -> 08:53 PM) I'm sick of all this talk that the NL sucks. Do you people have any proof the NL is inferior??? I say the two leagues are the same. All time interleague record, which is a bigger sample size than one isolated 7 game (if that) series. Pitchers batting being almost always automatic outs very time. Pitchers moving from the NL to AL and getting rocked. Average pitchers in the AL pitching better in the NL.
  21. God damn! Go for 4!!
  22. KUNG FU f***ING PANDA! Love it!
  23. No chance. No hope. There's not even an old saying that goes up to "fool me three times" or four if he's for some dumb reason on the team next year. Gordon will be an average bench player on some other team. That is his ceiling now.
  24. Ozzie will never be a manager again. Who on earth would want to deal with all the baggage? I see lots of third base coaching gigs and guest sports on ESPN Deportes in his future.
