I look forward to some serious changes in the off-season, and if not, some serious thinking about if I want to waste my time and heart on this team in 2011...

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 21, 2010 -> 08:10 PM) Worst season by far since his disasterous 2006 season. It would be much better if Buehrle is dealt and Danks stays around, but I can't see that happening. Mark, the NL is calling your name. What kind of package could we get for Mark from St. Louis?
-
I have not been impressed with Buehrle since his "perfect game +" One of the lefties will be traded in the off-season....

The key question for the rest of the year- Viciedo or Morel at third?
Cali replied to bobryansson's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Morel better get a nice long look at 3rd for 2011 at ST. If this is his defense and power stroke with a torn labrum I'd love to see him 100% -
Is it wrong that I honestly hope Ozzie goes off on some homophobic, racist, antisemitic rant to end all rants, so JR's hand is basically forced to fire him? Cause I'm pretty sure that's the only way he's gonna go....
-
I think we're a few days away from an extension announcement for Ozzie....

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 06:35 PM) A topic someone asked me about today: was the 25-5 stretch the worst thing that could have happened to the Sox organization? False sense of having an actual chance in the division/American League, and then we lose Hudson and add a big contract for next season were some of the points to consider. Dude this needs to be a separate new topic in the main board. Because I totally agree. The worst thing it did was save Ozzie's job. If they wound up losing 80+ games there would have been lots of pressure to fire Ozzie in the winter. Now, maybe not so much AND in crazy peoples minds it might make it seem like he was "right" about the rotating DH, Ugh.....

QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Sep 15, 2010 -> 03:00 PM) Clayton Richard is a product of pitching in San Diego. He would be nothing more than a 4th starter at best in the AL and US Cellular field. even that might be generous.... i cringed every start he made for the Sox. He would dominate for 4 innings then s*** the bed....so frustrating....
-
If I have to choose one, Ozzie has to go first... By the way Clayton gave up 8 ER today...FYI
-
You can't rebuild the roster without rebuilding the front office first, because can you imagine a season of the "kids can play" with Ozzie as manager? He's set all the kids back 5-10 years of development... But the owner is too loyal and stubborn to change anything. Maybe, maybe KW will get the can this off-season (most likely not) but Ozzie is his boy, even though he should be the FIRST one to go. As far as emulating the Twins is concerned, I wouldn't want to. I would be equally as frustrated to finish in second every season as I would be to make the playoffs every season and get bumped in the ALDS in 3-4 games.
-
Hmmmm @ COL and @ AZ.... those could be worth a road trip/flight....
-
QUOTE (GoSox05 @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 10:28 AM) Since 2000 The Twins are 6-18 in the playoffs. We are 12-7 with a championship. What a wonderful stat.

I'll check back in the trade after next season....A half a season is not a good barometer to judge this trade. Hell BOTH guys could suck next season, and it would still be an even trade haha
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 14, 2010 -> 06:05 PM) Well, another dominate start for Hudson. UGH! Why can't he just be awful to make the trade look a little better? What exactly has Edwin Jackson done beside make more money to make this trade seem lopsided in Hudson's way? Was it pitching in (sort of, at least for a little bit) a pennant race while Hudson pitches (very well of course) for the dead last place D'backs? Seems pretty even to me....
-
They beat up on their division. Plain and simple, they also play lights out at home. They're a very average road team. They are built for the AL Central which is why they rarely make it out of the first round. They play the Yankees like the Sox play the Twins, scared.

Wow these guys have just completely given up.... -
Just out of curiosity...did any of those angry bitter old codgers on that site who came up with cockamamy theories and "Law's" about why the White Sox would never ever ever win a World Series eat some crow after 2005? Cause they all should have been called the F out....

I want the following people gone for 2011: JENKS Quentin Pierzynski Pena Linebrink Kotsay Teahen

QUOTE (fathom @ Sep 9, 2010 -> 03:29 PM) Sale won't be in the bullpen. He'll either be starting with the big league team or starting in the minors. I would be surprised if he's not projected by the Sox to be starting in the majors next season with one of the 5 starting pitchers traded this offseason. I could easily see Danks getting traded this off-season, and depending on the haul we'd get, I'd be all for it....
-
WHy would we have signed Orlando Hudson? We had Beckham and Alexei up the middle already?
-
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Sep 8, 2010 -> 08:54 AM) They also have Trayce Thompson joining them for the playoffs. What a weird and kinda shady system that is....you can call up a guy who hasn't played for you all season long, and put him on the playoff Roster? I'm not complaining though, the more AB's for him the better...
-
I missed the game yesterday...how was Infante? Did he show that upper-90's pop on his fastball?
-
Vizquel @ 2nd, Morel @ 3rd please... Torn Labrum be damned....
-
Despite it all, I'm actually quite enjoying "Hurley" right now... Only 2 duds so far 8 songs in....
