  1. I'd really prefer Beckham hitting lower in the order for more chances at knocking in runs...
  2. Sans 2001, which just was a freak coincidence of bad injuries, Herm and his team have been amazing...

  4. I actually took improv class with him years ago. Didn't know him too well, and we never really talked much, but he seemed like a nice guy... Hope he turns up...

QUOTE (Heads22 @ Feb 14, 2010 -> 09:56 AM) Cali might appreciate the fact that fun. is playing VEISHEA here in Ames. You should go see them, they're great live. I saw 3 times in the span of 7 months last year haha New Angels & Airwaves "LOVE" available for free right now....
  7. Wow Rauch's first pitch wasn't even close when he hit Ichiro haha Gives up 2 BOMBS in the first inning and Nardi is just sitting there like an asshole in the dugout. Thank God for Coop... I really despised Jerry Manuel and his whole coaching staff (minus Nossek)
  8. MLB Network is going to be airing Mike Cameron's 4 HR game against the Sox back in 2002 at 12:30 PST, I assume that means 2:30 CST, unless it already aired... I believe Jon Rauch gave up some of those HR's if I'm not mistaken, or it was Parque, or both. I think I remember coming home from school and turning the game on and it was 10-0 in like the 2nd or something ridiculous. 3 years later that awful team won a world series haha
  9. I honor of Frank Thomas day they should bust out these throwbacks from when he made his debut...
  10. The Sox NEED to retire 35 at some point this season
  11. I have to be the poster who's been around the longest who's never been nominated for anything (to the best of my knowledge)
  12. If he really wanted to be in great shape for the season he would have taken BP in Chicago all winter get a little more acclimated haha

QUOTE (Felix @ Feb 2, 2010 -> 04:48 PM) Is it really called expanding your sound when you go to bland, boring pop? That's all subjective to the listener. If the band wants to try something new, and different from what they did prior, they're gonna do what they're gonna do. Some will like it, some wont.

Didn't Green Day "sell out" when they released Dookie? Since that was a major label debut? I f***ing hate that term "sell out", it's a term for pissed off teenagers whose favorite band suddenly has more fans, as if that's a bad thing for THE BAND. It's not all about you, you little s***. I LOVE experimentation, and expanding your sound. I will follow most if not all bands I like into doing what they want to do. If it sucks, it sucks, oh well, I don't brandish them with some high school insult. Very few bands can pull off doing the same exact album sound over and over with out it coming off as pathetic and stale. Nothing sadder than being in a band in your mid-40's trying to do/act what you did in your early 20's. Perfect example, I have no problem with the band The Cure, never been a huge fan but I dig their hits. Robert Smith is 50 and at least 100 lbs heavier than he was in the 80's yet still rocks the smeared lipstick, and messy (now thinning) hair. It makes me laugh that he STILL HAS to look like that.

Song of the moment... Spoon - "Goodnight Laura" f***ing AMAZING...
  16. I just kinda skimmed this thread, but have any of these "projections" of how awesome the Twins are taken into account the fact that no one knows how Target Field is gonna play? Hitter's Park? Pitcher's Park? We know the Twins team has always been built around playing to the strengths of the Metrodome, we have no idea how the lack of the quick turf and playing your home games outside (and some times in the cold) when you're used to only playing road games outside....
  17. QUOTE (Rex Kicka** @ Jan 27, 2010 -> 10:49 AM) But reading a newspaper is like reading a newspaper. And its much cheaper. And you aren't sad when you leave it on the train accidentally. People still read the newspaper? Who knew?! I love Apple and own an iPhone, iPod, and MacBook, none of which have ever failed me, but I have zero interest in this product, and can't see how this product would be good for anyone...I don't see the point.
  18. Any Soxfest pics up yet anywhere?
  19. QUOTE (BigEdWalsh @ Jan 22, 2010 -> 03:15 PM) Then you'd probably be pretty good at 16". Well i was exaggerating on purpose I only weight about 180, I assumed everyone could see me through the computer...so it's a lot of pizza eating to get there....
  20. Let me clarify my opinion on the Deep Dish. I can have like 1 slice, and that's about it. If I ate more than that I'd be 300lbs easily haha
  21. Was thinking about this the other day, and even though I would hardly be considered a Chicago person as I've lived in LA more than I ever lived in Chicago, what classic Chicago traditions/food/sayings etc. do you NOT like/do/say whatever. I'm sure there are transplants like me who just stopped doing these things, or even people in Chicago who don't. Here are my sins: I don't like Deep Dish, I prefer the thinner crust. I prefer regular softball to 16", it's like playing baseball with a basketball. I like ketchup on my hot dogs, now, and when I lived there I liked it.
  22. Just drove by the CoCo rally outside his studio at Universal Studios, and even in the POURING rain there were still at least a couple hundred people maybe more out there. It was AWESOME. I'm sure they'll show it on the show tonight....
  23. He didn't have high ratings BEFORE he was given the Tonight Show. I think that's what he means... I barely remember the early 90's and if Leno was ever actually funny.... I'm gonna guess no, though...
  24. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jan 8, 2010 -> 07:30 AM) Dunham is awesome You "aw" part right, but the second half of that word is "ful". And the second word of that sentence is hack.
