    Music Thread

I'd just like to once again, reiterate my previous point about Jason being no f***ing fun.
  3. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 02:31 PM) Ya Greasy do that. These really long threads are bad for the server. Well you're no f***ing fun. This thread is almost 3 years old!! C'mon!
  4. QUOTE(Controlled Chaos @ Mar 16, 2007 -> 06:34 AM) Anyone listen to Silversun Pickups?? I've been rocking to a song called "Lazy eye". I love songs that begin with a catchy mellow beat and then POW they grab my attention with some unanticipated rocking. Anybody know if the album is any good. can check out lazy eye here... http://music.yahoo.com/ar-21971531-videos--Silversun-Pickups They play that song 8,000 times a day on the radio out here, and I actually think it's a pretty good song, but I swear about 4,000 of the times I heard it, I thought it was a girl singing.
  5. The Scrubs shift only lasts a few weeks, so It's no big deal. 30 Rock started off slow, and kind of blah, but now it's great. Alec Baldwin is just hilarious. The last few episodes have been stellar. I don't mind the move. I get to watch The Office, 30 Rock and Scrubs all in a row? thank You, I'll take it.

    The Office

QUOTE(Kid Gleason @ Mar 12, 2007 -> 05:13 PM) The DVR makes it way too easy for people to choose. I will always opt for recording The Office whist I watch brainless crap like Idol. Why? Because I like to watch The Office and its kind more than once. I watch Idol once and am done with it. I enjoy the train-wreck aspect. But I never stop to think I might be effecting ratings. Yeah, it's not at the point yet where they take into consideration what people TiVo when it comes to the fate of TV shows. For example, Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip gets 11% (about a million extra viewers) from people who just tape it instead of watch it live. Unfortunately I dont think it will make a difference come the upfronts this summer...

    The Office

The Office already got picked up for next season back in January along with Heroes. It's quite a sad state of affairs that networks have to change the schedule around to accodate mindless s*** like Idol, and even sadder that 30 million people a week watch it...
  8. I want to know what people mean by "LA" when they say they dont like it. You gotta understand that LA can mean two things: The city of Los Angeles or LA County. I don't know why anyone would go to SoCal and just go to the city of LA, which does include the ghetto areas and is near the badder neighborhoods like Compton and Inglewood. LA County however, is MASSIVE and incldes many many great cities including Beverly Hills, Malibu, Burbank (haha of course I gotta plug my city) Pasadena, West Hollywood (Gay? Yes, but also Very Safe if people are worried about the "bad neighborhoods" in LA) and lots of beach communities like Hermosa, Manhattan, Redondo etc. You just gotta understand that LA is a very broad term because it is so big...
  9. QUOTE(RockRaines @ Mar 9, 2007 -> 12:01 PM) San Francisco is easily the best city in california, but running very close behind is san diego. Oakland flat out blows. My sister lives in SF, and it's okay, too f***ing "hilly" for me. I could never live there.
  10. More things I hate: Pain, without love Pain, I can't get enough Pain, I like it rough 'Cause I'd rather feel pain than nothing at all Well what should I expect from the band that brought us "I HATE EVERYTHING ABOUT YOU!!111!!" Just so it doesnt seem like I only post about music I hate: I've been listening to a lot of Fantastic Planet from Failure, so very good.
  11. Booooooo NorCal, Booooooooooo!!!!!!!
  12. QUOTE(Brian @ Mar 7, 2007 -> 08:18 PM) 6.9 million a week for a great show, but crap like Desperate Housewives draw 20 mil. Sad. More sad? That American Idol gets 30+ million idiots a week watching it. I'm not a fan of 'Housewives' but at least it's a scripted show. (P.S. I HATE all reality shows, havent posted here in a while, a referesher course for everyone) And that Scrubs clip show pissed me off, obviously aired out of production order since no one batted an eye at Cox's bald head.
  13. QUOTE(sf_soxfan @ Mar 6, 2007 -> 04:27 PM) Jesus...that Refused album is epic. Appears we have 2 things in common! What's the second? California?
  14. God I can't tell you how much I despise that Red Jumpsuit Apparatus "Face Down" song. Lyrically the message seems so forced, like some abuse groups paid them off to write the thing. It couldnt be more on point and blunt. Which is fine for a poster or something "Do you feel like a man when you push her around?" It sounds like the phrase from a poster, but as lyrics to a song? C'mon. You're supposed to be a musicain and lyricist, you're supposed to be more metaphorical and vauge, beside the fact that the verse doesnt set up the chorus or vice versa. It's almost like they wrote the lyrics specifically for kids to put them on their myspace page.
  15. "Monster Pen" I think the Monster Energy Drink people should buy some advertising in the bullpen, put up a sign in there. It would be perfect promotion.
  16. Haha she went to the tattoo shop where I got mine done...
  17. FINALLY. That band was a complete waste of his considerable talent. I can not wait for his new solo album.
  18. City of Evil is good, but Avenged Sevenfold were way better in the Waking the Fallen days. His scream was so intense on that CD, it's a shame he decided to go another direction. I saw them the day of the California Recall Election in '03 and they blew me away. I had gotten Waking the Fallen a few weeks earlier, btu had only given it a few spins, but the second I got home from the concert I put the thing on and gave it a proper listen. Second Heartbeat with screams is so much better than the way they do it now... They came in a close second to best band that night though, because Poison the Well were f***ing AMAZING. I can't wait for their new CD.
  19. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 27, 2007 -> 01:15 AM) The funny thing is, last time you saw me, I so had short hair...haha It was the San Diego series right? I cant remember if you came over to my friends house after the game or not, I remember having a splitting headache and not being able to get as drunk as I wanted haha
  20. As a shaggy haired person, I'm gonna go ahead and say BA needs to keep it long. He was all clean cut at the begining of the year and SUCKED He let it grow toward the end of the year and SUCKED a little less. I think the choice is clear....
  21. A pretty great folk album from the lead singer of Thrice, so, so good. Especially the title track, and "Blanket of Ghosts" Highly reccomended...
  22. LF - Bobby Jenks CF - Paul Konerko RF - AJ Pierzynski That would be a worse SOX outfield.
  23. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Jan 19, 2007 -> 05:12 PM) and there is a toll road in South Orange County that runs through to the inland empire (Riverside) but you can take free optoins if you like (Traffic can just blow on them if you are going to riverside from South OC or vice versa). They should have to pay YOU to go into the IE.
