The Sox could sure use a nice 5-6 game winning streak.

QUOTE (Jake @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 01:12 PM) And if that's the case, I'd rather have the performance enhanced version of Youkilis than Gordon. This.

C'mon Robin... so close, you just need Rios to move up one more spot.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 10:00 AM) The end of the story is the Sox are not going to turn a guy into a starter for six days, only to send him right back down. If PK gets DL'd the bench guys will get the AB's, not the call up. Thing is, I wouldn't be surprised if he's out for longer than the six days. He also should stay out longer since I still believe he's not fully recovered from his wrist injury.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 09:30 AM) You still have guys like Danks and Tyler Flowers. Flowers is too risky with no thirs catcher or emergency catcher. And Danks doesn't hit enough XBH's to justify DHing him. Plus you'd lose his defense if you need to spell Tank. Johnson makes the most sense (depending on his L/R splits) he's a lefty with some pop. I'd take that for a week or so. Might run into one. Especially if he pretends every pitcher is Matt Thorton or he's playing the Yankees in game 162.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 09:25 AM) Odds are the back up doesn't play, unless they are a defensive back up. Dunn probably plays 1st with Youk at 3rd. It is more likely that Dunn would come out for a PR, and put Youk over to 1st, with the bench player going in defensively. I'd be shocked if whoever they bring up got any ABs. Well who's DHing if Dunn is at 1st and Youk at 3rd?

Hoping it's the classic Chokeland A's this weekend. They need to learn that you can't be dead last in almost every offense category in the AL no matter how amazing your pitching is and compete.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2012 -> 08:59 AM) I'd rather see Brent called up. We have two guys who can play 1B in Youk and Dunn. We have only one guy who can play 3B worth a s***. Olmedo and Hudson are just awful over there. I'm more worried about offense than defense for 7 days and Johnson at least based on his AAA numbers might be able to hit a bomb or two (assuming something has clicked even in the smallest way)

My hatred of the Cubs dissipated when the Sox won the Series in '05. The Sox got there first. They will ALWAYS be the ones who won it first no matter what. It's now 100+ years for the Cubs, and they've looked awful for a few years now. Hating them is like kicking the small kid when he's down. The Cubs winning has no ill effect on the White Sox in their direct pursuit of the post-season. Outside of the crosstown games of course. The worry before 2005 was that they were gonna get city bragging rights. They didn't. The White Sox did. Now it's hatred of the teams in the way. And #1 in the way since 2006 has been Detroit. It used to be the Twins, but now it's all Tigers.
-
f*** the Tigers Now they have to go to Arlington and face the Rangers. Hopefully Texas can take 2 of 3
-
Soriano is f***ing NAILS. Wow. 4-3 Yanks Btm 9. Gave up a lead off double to Avila. Single to Infante. Then Line Out, Pop Up, Pop Up
-
Tigers... Just about most teams from Detroit.
-
Wow Alex Avila must be really slow if Gerald Laird is brought in to pinch run for him haha...
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 9, 2012 -> 01:14 PM) It just feels dirty rooting for the Yankees. not today haha
-
Trayce has an outside shot of going 30/100 for the season which would be just awesome.
-
f*** Detroit...

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) Kenny, your move Robin, also your move

They need to sweep Oakland this weekend to get the taste of a Royal series loss out of their mouths. Gotta find a way.

Nick Blackburn and Jeremy Guthrie have shut down the 1st place Sox in the last few weeks. Good thing Humber is still on the team, cause I would not wanna see this offense against him haha
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 07:14 PM) Quintana's performance and that ADA is back healthy Getting shut down by Jeremy Guthrie trumps just about everything haha
-
QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Aug 8, 2012 -> 07:11 PM) Really? Yep. "Right Now" as in the team playing at 9:12 central time against Jeremy Guthrie in Chicago down 2-0 in the 8th inning. Absolutely despise them. What's to like right now?
-
Pretty sad that this game was over when KC went up 1-0. They had NO chance tonight with that lineup. No matter how awful Guthrie was (and is) YOU KNOW he is going to get DESTROYED in his next start no matter who it is Guthrie's facing
-
I f***ing despise this team right now. Playing like this in the midst of a playoff run with a team right on your ass? Robin needs to change this lineup around when everyone is healthy. You can't be afraid to do it.
-
Jeremy f***ING Guthrie?!?!? WAKE UP! Christ!
-
2-0 must feel like 10-0 to these guys the way they're hitting.
