  1. Seriously why would you put the glasses on your hat? If you're not gonna wear them, leave them in the dugout dumbass
  2. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 24, 2011 -> 10:59 AM) If you could somehow move Rios's contract, wouldn't you move Viciedo with it? s*** no. By the time Rios' contract is up Dayan will only be, what, 25? I'd rather see Dayan flourish under the Sox (this is of course with a different manager/hitting coach etc.) than watch him do so somewhere else. Even if it means Rios is with the Sox. I don't see them being very competitive in the next 3 years anyway.
  3. I'm fine with this deal as long as it doesnt include Viciedo.... That would be ridiculously dumb...
  4. Milledge still quietly putting up a really good season. I'd trade him for Rios in an INSTANT right now...
  5. Cal Ripken Jr. only got 98.53% of the Vote. Who WOULD LEAVE HIM OFF THEIR BALLOT?! Jeter's not getting 100% It's not even a matter of worthy. There will always be old codgers who think the way baseball was played when they were kids back when the world was in black and white was the unequivocal "RIGHT" way and this generation has to be punished. And these guys live seemingly FOREVER.
  6. They'll win three and lose three over the next six, just to f*** with us...
  7. The Twins winning the Central this season would be such a disgrace and a joke. Boston Texas or New York would DESTROY THEM. They've lost in the playoffs with 10x better teams than the AAA team they're trotting out there in 2011...
  8. It's hard to blame KW for the Dunn signing. Not ONE baseball analyst, fan, or baseball player could have seen this kind of season from such a consistent power hitter. NO ONE. Struggling a little bit, sure but still getting 30+ bombs once he adjusted. When Kenny signed Adam to the pretty reasonable deal he expected the same old Adam Dunn and got this in return. It's on Dunn and Dunn only. If he's around next season.... There's no way he can do worse than 2011. If he did, it'd really be time to quit.
  9. Oh, but the Mix is working Kenny. THE. MIX. IS. WORKING.
  10. I think they're stretching out Sale to be a starter right now haha
  11. Good. Maybe rest that priceless arm for another few months. I think the whole trade is a loss for both teams. Pena has never been good, and Allen can't seem to catch on with the D'Backs (who before this season were just so...so bad)
  12. The fact that they're not 10+ games out makes it even more frustrating. They could tweak a few things and win this division but BECAUSE they're not 10+ games out it gives management this stupid idea that standing pat and playing through and hoping it works out with the "mix" they have that they have a chance to win since this team as constructed isn't buried. It's a catch 22.
  13. I'm picturing KW looking like Kevin Bacon in Animal House right now... "All is well!" This mix sucks
  14. I'm done with this team if Viciedo is gone for a RELIEVER.
  15. I also LOVE that the Sox feel the need to address the Bullpen that's been unhittable the last month. But the "mix" in the line-up is just fine. "
  16. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 18, 2011 -> 07:37 PM) Have fun losing to the Twins in the first round.. The Yankee rotation could be Keith Olbermann, Jay-Z, and Rudy Giuliani and the Twins would still get swept in the ALDS.
  17. The Sox should just look.... at Birmingham. Addison Reed. End of story. They don't need another Pena like deal for Heath Bell (as awesome as he is, particularly his slide to the mound) I don't wanna see Andy Wilkins or Trayce go for him. KW wouldn't do Viciedo for a Reliever. He's not THAT dumb.
  18. Seemed like a lot of posters here were already calling Trayce a bust. Surprised to see him ranked so high...
  19. Classic Little League.... Oh, also, Jose Valverde is a piece of s*** it's not Game 7 of the World Series
  20. Only on Soxtalk can a thread about the team WINNING THE WORLD SERIES turn pessimistic haha
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2011 -> 12:49 PM) Why are you still following the team if you want them to lose? Honestly, it's IMPOSSIBLE to not follow this team for as much as I hate the way their constructed and managed etc. It's an addiction like anything else. I'm rooting for change. That's why I want 3-9. Of course there's a small part in my brain that wants a 56-14 miracle run where they win 100 games, and of course the more tempered 89 wins and squeak out a division title cause who knows? But reality sets in and I know they'll just struggle. They've shown no signs to expect anything different. It bums me out.
  22. I actually want 3-9, but 6-6 is more likely just to keep the status quo intact for KW and Ozzie to keep the same corpse-mix on the field....
