  1. QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 08:43 AM) I assume Hahn has some kind of plan here. I mean, I would hope so. I'm sure we will see something come together within next few days.
  2. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) Bruce Levine said this morning that the White Sox were in it until the $$ got crazy. He said they were never making Cespedes one of the highest paid OF's in the game. He said that expects something else because they need to finish the job. He's speculating about Colorado but that doesn't really make sense either. Yeah I don't want to give up anything of value for Blackmon or Dickerson. Idk I guess it depends.
  3. QUOTE (Saufley @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 08:04 AM) So, I shut down the computer about 9 last night and am just opening it up now. Disappointed yes but, I hope there is not more disappointment to come. Hopefully the acquisitions of both Lawrie and Frazier do not go to waste. OK White Sox what now?? Guessing it's either SS Saladino OF Fowler Or SS Desmond OF Jackson/Garcia
  4. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 07:26 AM) I'm glad the Sox didn't offer that. Basically if he's awesome next year you lose him after one year but if he sucks next year your stuck with an expensive contract for two more years. If he opts out, they can recoup with a QO.
  5. I want Jackson. Would hold my excitement on Desmond until I saw the contract.
  6. Let's hope we hear about some interest from the Sox standpoint.
  7. I'd call and ask about Granderson first though I don't think they'll move anyone. Conforto orbGranderson could sit against lefties and Lagares can get into the lineup as well as other games he can double switch and come in as a defensive sub in.
  8. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 11:15 PM) What is Desmond going to cost? Realistically? He turned DOWN a $107M offer already... But let's here the thoughts. This oughtta be interesting. No one's really been linked to him. If he wants to take a one year deal I'd offer 1/15.8 (value of the QO).
  9. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 12:49 AM) And Cespedes never wanted to leave NY to begin with. Once the Mets got back in it was just a matter of time. It wasnt about getting outbid They can definitely thank Cuddyer.
  10. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 10:54 PM) Guess it also depends how confident they are in Kendricks and Warren, too. With the crazy pitching contracts, seems anything is possible (not eating any of Hammel's salary) except for the White Sox dumping Danks. Along with dealing Soler moving Heyward to right.
  11. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 12:42 AM) I said same class. As in ELIGIBLE class (from Cuba) to sign. This 21 thing...that's you're distraction. You invented that strawman and are arguing it for some reason...I'm not even talking about it. Are you drunk? You were responding to a poster who was making a comment about developing hitters and you seemed confused about what "under 21" signings meant. I don't know what Puig, Cespedes and Abreu has to do with under 21 year old signing. Don't know what you mean by "eligible to sign from Cuba" when the amateurs under 21 are also "eligible to sign" contracts (despite having restrictions).
  12. QUOTE (CB2.0 @ Jan 23, 2016 -> 12:20 AM) Latin signings are a whole different animal. And speaking of: weren't Abreu, Cespedes, and Puig all the SAME class? What MLB team won with their pick and $? You're moving goal posts. Incorrect. Abreu, Puig and Cespedes were not under 21 amateur signings which is way different. Basically like drafting where you still need to work with them and develop them in your minors like high school/college picks.
  13. I don't think he'll make it out of the NL.
  14. With 8 games in a row to start the season, I would imagine we see an 8 man bullpen to open the season (3 man bench: catcher, infielder, Shuck) then a roster move the first day off for another bench guy.
  15. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jan 22, 2016 -> 02:18 AM) Brewers really make little sense here... He would just be a stop gap until until their CF prospect is ready apparently. And they don't have a CF on the current roster.
  16. QUOTE (raBBit @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) This thread is about Cespedes. Stop bringing up other things. Have any insight for us today?
  17. Has there even been any mention of us all day? Usually quiet is good when it comes to this team.
  18. Take it for what it's worth, but an administrator on the "Chicago White Sox Territory" Facebook page says he knows someone close to organization that says we are still negotiating with him. He mentions it in the comments in the post about Matt Albers.
  19. QUOTE (peavy44 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 04:49 PM) I'm wondering if he got 5 year deal from the NATS, if he does why don't he sign it already. Only thing that keeps me a little optimistic.
  20. This thread might get to 400 before he signs lol
  21. QUOTE (blackmooncreeping @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:27 PM) That's a good signing. Damn, would've liked him on the Sox as a platoon with LaRoche, Melky, Avi, etc. Agree. I think Raburn is still out there for that role.
  22. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 12:23 PM) Marc Topkin ‏@TBTimes_Rays 2m2 minutes ago BREAKING: #Rays are close to signing Steve Pearce to a 1-year deal, just pending a physical. Would get DH at-bats, play 1B vs. LHP, some OF Great sign for them. Makes sense since they have Loney and Morrison at 1B/DH.
  23. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:36 AM) lol same here. I've been addicted to this forum for a month now. I feel ya. Fortunately for me I mostly just follow at work. When I'm at home, I've just about had it staring at screens (phone, computer) all day. Haha
  24. 4 year deal with a 5th year vesting option or team option with a decent buyout. Sign him up.
  25. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Jan 21, 2016 -> 11:13 AM) That's a good lineup, but where is Trea Turner? I thought he was their top prospect? Likely starting the year in the minors from everything I've read.
