QUOTE (shipps @ May 20, 2016 -> 04:07 PM) Abreu batting second? So weird. Why? He batted second plenty last season.

The Tim Anderson Timetable
QUOTE (bmags @ May 20, 2016 -> 02:37 PM) I think he'll obviously be up in September but I don't consider him a part of 2016 plans. Perhaps he comes up and is a tremendous pinch runner and somehow makes his way up to our playoff roster though Yeah I could see that. He may be officially added to the 40 man after the game on August 31 to qualify for the playoff roster.

5/19 games
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ May 19, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Davidson also 2-4. Could be a decent trade chip at the deadline. Edit: Delmonico is destroying AA in a pitchers ballpark. Call him up to AAA. Agree. Let him replace Ishikawa.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 19, 2016 -> 09:20 PM) The answer to that trivia question was Jake Peavy (2012) I had a feeling.

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ May 19, 2016 -> 09:10 PM) Chuck Garfien @ChuckGarfien 55s55 seconds ago Anyone want to guess the last White Sox pitcher to throw back-to-back complete games? #WhiteSoxTalk I'm guessing it's not the obvious "Buehrle" guess.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 19, 2016 -> 09:07 PM) Let's get another insurance run. Do you guys think Robin will let Sale go out for the 9th? I don't see how you can't let him.

He should definitely go the distance.

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) You might as well hand Chris Sale the Cy Young right now if he records a shutout in this game. There's still over half the season left. But yeah he keeps pitching this way it should be his.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 19, 2016 -> 08:43 PM) They have no other alternatives. Lawrie? I know he has struggled lately but he's changed his approach this year and takes more pitches and walks. I get he's not playing today but I guess I would have just stuck with Rollins with Lawrie out.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 19, 2016 -> 08:42 PM) Please find an actual number 2 hitter I think Melky would be fine for it if we traded for a middle of the order bat but I wouldn't change a thing about Melky right now so a #2 hitter in a trade would be ideal.

QUOTE (chw42 @ May 19, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) With the way Chris is pitching, he's only exerting maximum effort on a few pitches per AB. So even if he was higher in pitch count, I'd trust him to throw 110-120 pitches. Yeah kind of reminds me of other top guys who have done similar. Like a younger Verlander.

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 19, 2016 -> 07:17 PM) Simply making a pitcher's age as the PRIMARY argument doesn't make a whole lotta sense...because you have lots of guys like Esteban Loaiza, Matt Thornton or Jose Contreras that had their best years with the White Sox (well) past 31. Phil Humber, off the top of my head, was another guy who became serviceable well after his expiration date as a prospect. That said, I have a hard time believing Mr. Guerra would be putting up the same exact statistics as a starter with the White Sox in the AL Central. If we don't make it to the playoffs, letting him go will be about reason #59 for us not getting there. It was a joke. Refer to the post right above yours.

Why sit both Lawrie and Garcia at the same time?

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ May 19, 2016 -> 06:04 PM) I'd take a 31 year old Junior Guerra at this very moment over a 26 year old Erik Johnson or a 25 year old Anthony Ranuado. Age only means so much. I was making a joke...look at the poster I was responding to.

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (GreenSox @ May 19, 2016 -> 05:03 PM) Sox need a starter. The rest of this is silly contrivances that will set the org back years for temporary comfort of some above average veteran in the lineup. I see Junior Guerra struck out 11 today. It certainly would be nice if the Williams/Hahn/Ventura/Cooper could properly evaluate their own prospects. Cooper wanted nothing to do with Guerra, while saddling the Sox with Noesi for a year. He's 31. You should want nothing to do with him.

Early Trade Speculation
Look at how things were going when Latos was good and kept them in games/was on. That's what we're capable of being with another solid arm.
-
Early Trade Speculation
Sucks that Latos has turned into a pumpkin. This team def needs to add another mid-rotation type of arm.

Yadiel Hernandez
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ May 18, 2016 -> 05:44 PM) He might not be bad to have around but I doubt he would help much this season. He hasn't played in games in a year or more, and MLB is something he hasn't seen. Yeah I tend to agree with this. Maybe he can help plug a spot for next season?

Yadiel Hernandez
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 18, 2016 -> 04:50 PM) This could be an ideal situation. Not many guys are going to be available for just cash, though with Avi starting to hit, the need for another OF is greatly reduced unless it is someone you can replace Jackson with in CF, and by all indications Hernandez is not that guy. I think you would start taking Jackson's at bats away (not majority but some) as well as Avi's.

Bunting Plummets in MLB
I hate bunting early in the game to get a quick guy over from second to third. A guy who can score on a hit to the outfield but you decide to give up one chance for him just to move 90 feet.

Early Trade Speculation
QUOTE (fathom @ May 18, 2016 -> 02:43 PM) Bob NightengaleVerified account @BNightengale The #Padres may have nice trade chip this summer in OF Matt Kemp, who has 10 homers and 29 RBI, and is being made available. I wonder what they could realistically get in return if a team wanted to take on the full salary to pay less in talent-wise.
