QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 06:14 PM) No. Stockpile that. Deal some once the foundation is built. This org is in no position to trade young players except in exchange for someone else's young players. I'm okay with dealing Q or Sale for that matter, for the right price. He's a 4-5 War player, at a low salary with years of control. That's the price. I'd deal Eaton first, though. Yeah I meant young cost controlled hitting. You really think I want them to deal for guys about to be free agents?

White Sox decline option on Alexei Ramirez

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 04:20 PM) Seems to be pretty evident he isn't coming back unless he wants to take an actual discount Agree. I think he'll probably go to San Diego. Him or Asdrubal I suppose. -
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 06:07 PM) Simply put it's Chicago media trying to generate buzz based off of an obvious need for both teams. Did anyone expect them to say they wouldn't trade with the other. Exactly. It's a fluff piece.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 04:51 PM) Lol yeah right. At best, I think they can fetch a back end rotation type guy. Haha straight up probably. You think we could get him for Erik Johnson? Haha
-
QUOTE (fathom @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:59 PM) Man are there going to be posters disappointed by the actual return they get for Q Agree. If they were to deal him anyway. My preference is to deal from the pitching depth in the minors for hitting.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:57 PM) anyone other than him and russell, the deal would not be fair. I think Bryant and Rizzo are the likely 2 untouchables in their lineup. I do think that since they have middle infield depth that Russell could be had in a deal.
-
QUOTE (LDF @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:53 PM) really i am being serious, if the northsiders were willing and so the sox, how can they make a trade that will be in equal value. for me, i would want Rizzo, Russell and a minor leaguer in the top 5 range. for Q and a rp or rp prospect. I don't think they'd trade Rizzo personally. He's their captain now on a team friendly deal just as team friendly as Q.

QUOTE (GreenSox @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:48 PM) If you listen to Cubs fans they only want to trade their junk: Castro, Soler, etc. (Soler and Castro aggregated to a .9 WAR last year). But even if Theo is willing to make an honest trade, I just don't see a matchup. Who do they have that we want? Any ML ready C or 3B? I know they have some guys in low minors, but I just don't see the fit. Now, I can see fits with Boston, the number 1 player-hype machine in MLB (Cubs still #2). But not Cubs. There would be a fit if we were rebuilding and we're a few years away so adding lower level guys made sense but we're likely trying to compete now so it doesn't.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:36 PM) How exactly were we fleeced? Agree. A backup catcher, a back-end starter who could end up in bullpen (personally, the Ynoa part cancels him out for me), Ravelo without a position and a shortstop who can't field. I don't see much of a fleece there. And we may get better value out a comp pick than any of those guys.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 05:31 PM) Oh I know, I wasn't insulting you or anything like that. It's just that Epstein is out of his freaking mind if he thinks the Sox would accept a deal anything remotely close to that. You know that this isn't a real offer right? No one is out of their mind and that deal would never be offered for Quintana in the first place.
-
QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 04:40 PM) Dan Hayes @CSNHayes 4m4 minutes ago Only way see Jose Quintana getting traded is if #WhiteSox got a really nice package of hitters back. Great contract, very good production. Basically what everyone figured.

Byung-ho Park bidding rights won by Twins, $12.85 m

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 08:06 AM) Im not sure I would be. Seems like a total White Sox move. Take a chance on a guy that may produce for less money than top free agents. The LaRoche contract makes it a little murky, but as I said earlier, the Sox had 3 1B/DH 2 seasons ago, so it's not like it's out of the realm of possibility. I think if we get this guy or an outfielder, they have every intention of ridding themselves of LaRoche. -

QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 06:55 AM) There it is. Trade for Pedro Alvarez? If he played an average 3B and cost nothing in terms of players, I'd be for scooping him up. But he's a terrible defender and we have LaRoche at DH so no thanks. -

QUOTE (WhiteSoxLifer @ Nov 9, 2015 -> 06:37 AM) I was just told that the Pirates won the bidding for Byung Ho Park. https://twitter.com/CJNitkowski/status/663693652502437888 Really cornering the Korean market. -

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 10:09 PM) I'm secretly hoping that the Sox get this guy. If anything, it'll get that bum LaRoche out of town. This this this this this this times a million -

QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 10:07 PM) Down to 8.. This is fun lol I would think if we weren't at least in the race somebody would have said something. It seems odd though 6 if you take out the Cubs and Reds. -

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 10:00 PM) Did you read that somewhere? I think he is just saying since it's basically assumed its them because they have a hole at first (basically) and have Kang. I think its them or Astros (tried to sign Abreu and have that short porch in left. Could utilize his power there.). -
White Sox make qualifying offer to Jeff Samardzija.

QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 08:33 PM) Watch him go to the Cubs and have a "2015 Arrieta" like season next year. I have the vibe that anywhere he goes he's going to pitch better. -
QUOTE (Springfield SoxFan @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 06:34 PM) Ok, I thought teams still had a window to negotiate with their own free agents. Maybe that has changed, just surprised no one has signed yet if it is all open. The really aren't that many guys who sign early. This isn't like other sports with a salary cap where everyone has to sign early to get the big bucks.
-
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 06:00 PM) f***ing Boston fans. Yeah to be honest, I wouldn't really like a deal with Boston if Swihart is the centerpiece. He'd be a nice part of a deal but we need better than that.
-
QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 05:49 PM) It actually came from Gammoms Well either way it's in there.

QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 05:24 PM) "Sale is a really good pitcher, but is he worth letting go of possibly the future starting catcher for the Red Sox?" Seemed pretty straight forward Lol in a package. Sorry I'm not seeing that quote as implied 1 for 1. If the Red Sox were offered Sale for Swihart straight up, Sale would be pitching opening day 2016 and Vazquez would be catching for the Red Sox.
-
QUOTE (Dunt @ Nov 8, 2015 -> 05:11 PM) Because Sale is not enough to get Blake Swihart now LOL. f***ing Boston fans. http://bosoxinjection.com/2015/11/08/red-s...-blake-swihart/ They're not suggesting a straight 1-1 swap. The author does acknowledge that it would take "a big position player package from Boston, Houston, the Cubs or Texas, teams with deep farm systems."
