QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 17, 2015 -> 10:50 AM) If we could find some bats at 2B, SS, C, or RF, I could totally live with Saladino at 3B Move him to short and find a better 3B. Save money by not bring Alexei in.
-
The only guy I'd give up a draft pick for is Heyward. We'd also have to move LaRoche or release him and eat the money moving Melky and Garcia into left field/DH combo. Heyward would greatly improve the defense and is only 26.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 15, 2015 -> 08:11 AM) Pretty sure the Marlins gave Reyes that deal Yes it was. Very back-loaded.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 04:11 PM) Read on mlbtraderumors and Heyman mentioned the Sox could express interest in Upton this winter. No more bats from the NL please.

8-14-15 Cubs vs Sox 3:10CDT (Hendricks vs Samardzija)

People think that Alexei started it with waving his fingers at Strop. I wouldn't be shocked if he got hit tomorrow. Also why Strop celebrated towards him. -
QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 05:27 PM) He looks like he could have weight problems. No evidence though. Agree that there is no evidence. Looks built solid.

Get Sanchez to the 2-hole. Saladino just isn't doing it with the bat lately (granted a hit today). -

QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:22 PM) At least we got Garcia and Montas back from Peavy. If Samardzija finishes with a 5+ ERA, he might actually be better off accepting the QO for just one year. Agree. Too much competition out there this offseason. And more than half won't have a draft pick attached to them. -

QUOTE (Baron @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:42 PM) Really it's his defense that is really punishing Garcia and the team right now. They'll have to figure that one out at some point. Exactly. He should be in left field or DH. -

QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 03:18 PM) Guys, please stop bagging on Avi. He's young and he more than makes up for his atrocious defense with his bat. Dude's probably played out field for at least ten years. If he's not good by now, he never will be. He's a DH or left fielder (hide the glove position) -

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Aug 14, 2015 -> 11:40 AM) We want the Cup! Do they get it with a victory today? Will there be a ceremony on the field? It used to be where if the teams split, it went to the winner of the sixth game. I believe we have to win 2 this series (or at the very least, win the last one). Just go ahead and sweep or win 2 though -

Abreu's future is at DH. Get him there now. -

QUOTE (jasonxctf @ Aug 12, 2015 -> 10:41 AM) Lets go for the sweep. Vegas has Angels as the favorite at -123. I'm going tonight. Hopefully no LaRoche against the lefty. -
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 10, 2015 -> 11:06 AM) No reason to for either party really. Only reason really would be to help our place in the standings for a better draft pick.

Well, it's that time of year again....2015 edition

QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 9, 2015 -> 09:27 AM) If Sox offer Shark a QO ($16 Millionish), will he take it as a one year deal? No as he can do better than a one year $16 million deal. -
[quote name='Quinarvy' date='Aug 8, 2015 -> 03:06 PM' post='321840ally, you're advocating this s*** again? You're advocating that Samardzija hit someone on purpose after this is how you reacted to him hitting someone on accident? Really? The best part is him calling Samardzija "good not great" but then blows Danks every start. Edit: I seriously hate posting on this site from my phone. Text jumps and I end up screwing up the quote

QUOTE (oldsox @ Aug 8, 2015 -> 07:27 AM) Cargo still hot; hit a game winning grand slammer last night (Friday 8/7). They won't give him away. Agree. They'll move him in the off-season for a good package if he stays healthy the rest of the way.

QUOTE (Mike F. @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Pods: "Would you turn Sanchez loose here?" Hawk: "Crickets" This broadcast is awful, wow. I didn't think it could get worse than Hawk-Rowand...enter Scotty Pods.
-
Pods: Hawk, you turning Sanchez loose? (Dead air)
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 02:38 PM) I think it is $10M, not $15M. Latest update says more than 10 so I'm guessing 15.
-
Indians get: Johnson Braves get: Swisher, Bourn and $15 mill. How come no one can ever help is out?
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 01:36 PM) I realize that. And you responded to a message saying "why would the A's or Red Sox have any interest in adding a pendinint not "why would the A's or Red Sox ever put in a claim on a pending FA". Well I guess to help eat innings for their young arms would be a good point at the risk of possibility giving up nothing to get him (which we know the Sox wouldn't give him up as his salary isn't much and only for this year).
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 7, 15-> 01:17 PM) Claiming to block, and claiming to acquire are different things. Obviously the Sox aren't going to just let Shark go for salary relief. I know they won't but that doesn't change anything I said. No risk putting in/winning a claim. The team that wins does not have to have interest in working out a deal.
-
QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Aug 7, 2015 -> 10:51 AM) Why would hte A's and Red Sox have any interest in adding a pending FA? There would be no comp pick to a team trading for Shark. Pending FA who get traded lose the comp pick. Because thats what teams do. They can put in a claim, win it, and then not pursue a deal blocking other teams from making a play at him. A's or BoSox have nothing to lose doing so.

Step 1: trade Kenny to Toronto for something less ridiculous than O's wanted for their Gm. Step 2: Hire Dave as president of baseball operations. Step 3: profit
