  1. 2.5 back from the Tigers who are 8th but we play them 7 times.
  2. Just going to leave this here: http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/reversestandings
  3. QUOTE ( @ Sep 7, 2015 -> 09:54 AM) I just want Sale and Rodon to pitch well. Go Sox! Shark too. We don't want him increasing his chances of accepting a qualifying offer.
  4. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 03:01 PM) Uhg, I do not understand this in the least bit. If Olt gets playing time then Saladino loses playing time at 3B. Not a fan of this claim at all. Cannot believe I'm going to say this but I would rather have Gillaspie back in a Sox uni. At least Gillaspie could hit a little at the major league level. I bet Saladino still gets most of the starts there, some DH at bats and so m at short.
  5. QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 5, 2015 -> 02:23 PM) i don't know about his stat wise, about his defense. but man, that avg.... but it doesn't hurt and nothing to loose. I remember reading that he is an average defender which is better than we ran out there the past few years.
  6. It's understandable he'd be upset for not getting traded. QO hurts his value even more. Cueto and Price will not have draft pick compensation attached to them, along with lesser tier guys like Kazmiz and Latos. All those guys will sign before Shark. He will be a late February signing having to take the best offer (which will be less than he is aiming for right now).
  7. Since there are no options in free agency for third and no one we want to trade is worth anything, we better trade Q for a haul that involves an MLB ready 3B and an MLB ready SP ready to step into rotation, among others.
  8. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 09:10 PM) I see what you're saying. I just prefer to not use a roster spot on Olt in hopes maybe the Sox get a 3B over the winter to compete with Saladino in ST next year. Maybe (hopefully) even find a permanent 3B and give Saladino a shot at SS. Huh? Having a guy like Olt on the roster would not stop them from being able to upgrade the position in the offseason. If they claimed him soon and kept him into the offseason and they ended up trading Q in a deal for a young 3B MLB ready player, for example), then Olt can be dfa'd. And I agree about Saladino at short. Cheap stop-gap as opposed to picking up Alexei's option and I've been pushing for this.
  9. 59 games, 9 homers, .265/.333/.468. He's k'd 71 times though but more deserving of a chance than Davidson.
  10. QUOTE (Dunt @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 07:07 PM) B/c he sucks? Please tell me about all the other great options we have. Go ahead I'll wait.
  11. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Aug 31, 2015 -> 04:27 PM) I'll go with all of those but Carroll. No point in bringing up AAAA players. Could see him coming up to be a mop up guy.
  12. QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 09:19 PM) Where are they going to play Micah? Will he have the courage to use him at DH? Probably second a few times a week at second. Better than him just going home doing nothing I suppose.
  13. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 30, 2015 -> 01:09 PM) I think it'll be Matt Davidson, Micah Johnson, Leury Garcia, Rob Brantly, Erik Johnson, Frankie Montas, Zack Phillips, and Scott Carroll. I'm wondering if the Sox move anyone before Tuesday. (Soto, Beckham, Albers) Agree with all except Davidson. Dude's terrible.
  14. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Aug 29, 2015 -> 09:02 PM) Do we really need to Saladino continuously shoved down our throats? Who do you recommend play third? Beckham or Garcia? Seriously there's no one else.
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Aug 27, 2015 -> 08:06 AM) I'd like to see them dump Soto and give the at-bats to Rob Brantly. If they could deal Ramirez I'd consider that too but they'll probably explore that in the offseason. The guys I'd aim for to acquire for our bench guys (if teams want bench depth) would be guys who have to be added to the 40-man roster in the off-season. Fringey prospects where teams may have to make room for them or get value for them. Try to move Soto, Shuck (Thompson could possibly end up as the 4th outfielder/platoon with LaRoche next season), and Beckham, along with some relievers.
  16. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 08:21 PM) Alexi is arguably the worst sacrifice bunter I have ever seen. I seriously don't know why they ever call on him to do it, especially in this situation. Yep. Gotta blame Robin for calling it.
  17. QUOTE (South Side Fireworks='Aug 25, 2015 -> 06:05 PM) Bring him up and start him at DH against lefties. Nah keep giving those at bats to Thompson (with other OF in DH spot).
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Aug 25, 2015 -> 04:43 PM) No, neither. They might bring up Brad Penny as a favor. Other guys that have played for the Sox--Drabek, Carroll, Webb will come off the DL, Erik Johnson, Micah Johnson. Maybe Leury Garcia. Maybe Viciedo gets added. Smith or Brantly as a third catcher. Nothing too exciting. I doubt Viciedo will. Already have an outfielder for right handed at bats. Plus you'd have to put him on the 40.
  19. Hawk: "Pitchout nothing on." Umm I think it was just a really bad pitch Hawk...
  20. I don't think its from home or opposing fans. I think its just in general by players.
  21. QUOTE (BlackSox13 @ Aug 22, 2015 -> 02:37 PM) I can. A 2016 rotation of Sale, Q, Rodon, Samardzija and Danks would not allow room for Buehrle. Plus, there Erik Johnson to take into consideration. Don't get me wrong, been a huge fan of Buehrle for a long time. If the Sox can move on from Samardzija and find an NL team willing to take on Danks for one season, then the idea of Buehrle becomes much more realistic. The Sox could roll out a 2016 rotation of Sale, Q, Rodon, Buehrle and E.Johnson. The Sox would still have Montas ( unless traded) at AAA with Fulmer likely joining him at some point. Buehrle would be a good fit to use as a stop gap for 2016 while Fulmer and Montas develop. I'd take Buehrle over Samardzija and/or Danks any time. Samardzija won't be back next year. If they were to find a taker for Danks or traded Q for hitting, there is definitely room for Buehrle.
  22. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 20, 2015 -> 10:22 AM) 670 The Score ‏@670TheScore 12m12 minutes ago "I think Robin Ventura stays put no matter what happens." @BNightengale to @SpiegelAndGoff on #WhiteSox future Not shocking in the least.
  23. I could possibly see him up since as of now, we only have one backup IF. Garcia probably gets called up Sept 1 along with Micah though.
