Right, when your franchise record free agent signing is an average at best defensive fielder, singles hitter, it's probably too big of a gamble for said franchise.

Well hopefully this was the kick in the nuts that the Yankees needed to make a deal. Just out of curiosity, if they dealt for Cease, is their luxury tax number so high that they are they still forfeiting all that anyway?

Maybe closes off the possibility for now, but maybe they will need another SP in the summer. Probably still wouldn't want to pay the price then though.
