They have Chase Meidroth, who’s the likely starter at 2B. That’s why. I do think Sosa should be the backup and get at bats at 1B/DH as well, but that plan dies if they add a 1B.

Yeah I know, but I was more thinking of the fact they literally added another RHH OF who would serve that purpose yesterday. Like if they were concerned about adding and still saving some space, it’s a move that should have been made.

Pereira is still young and had a good season in AAA last year. Idk maybe he figures it out. Not a bad get for Wilson (I’m counting the journeyman type reliever for 26-YO infielder as nothing for nothing).
