Colson's .862 OPS against lefties is better than it is against righties (.669). Sam's is .621. Not great but not a blackhole. Mune's is .716. Braden is sub-.600 at .529 so I think we will be seeing Pham at DH with Grichuk in RF.

Do you just hold him on the IL the rest of year “on a rehab assignment” at some point so he’s playing but they don’t need to actually activate him? He kinda feels like a guy who could be DFA’d for roster 40-man roster space soon

He ended up getting hurt for a lot of the year (shocker, I know) and they wanted to give playing time to younger players plus cut payroll so I think it's better he was dealt. Fast-forward to the end of August and they're in first place with a need for another guy who hits lefties well with rosters expanding. Not too shocked he was claimed by another team. Edit: and this coming from a guy who's really soured on him and wanted him gone for the last couple of years lol

Kinda makes me wonder why they couldn't come to a deal at the beginning of August with the Mets eating some money but I guess Robert had just come off the IL not too long before that so I guess it makes sense they didn't. Obviously, not saying give up something for him but like cash considerations so the Mets could at least dump some money.

I don't disagree but they made the move for a reason. Not saying what I would do (hell, I wouldn't have traded for him lol) but what I think they will do.
