The problem is, you do this in scenarios where you try to give your bench infielder a platoon advantage with the bat and play him where he is strongest. The guy sucks against both lefties and righties.

Carrying multiple bench Outfielders and your only bench infielder being Acuna is leading to this problem. Look, you’ve already won the trade. You didn’t pay Robert his buyout, he’s already hurt and going to contribute nothing on his new team. You don’t need to save face. Cut Acuna.

Someone here before tried to explain why doing this (with Ant at 2B) is down grading 3 spots in the infield (yet it’s happening right now as we watch). Why not keep your MI the same and try Ant at 3B? Or stick him at 1B in this scenario and not move any of your starting regulars.

If you’re not going to platoon one of the lefty hitters, I agree that that guy should be Antonacci. Just a guy who always seems to get on base no matter what. I trust him in there.

Sometimes but not as often as we see Acuna now. I vote upgrade the bench and grab Espinal and maybe Slater temporarily. Both guys who usually hit lefties but haven’t really this year (both SSS)

Agreed. Just stating that once Mune is back at 1B, it should help put an end to the shifting around as he’s not platooned.

Because Mune isn’t platooned so he stays at 1B against lefties and no one is shifting around. Pretty simple connection actually.
