  1. Why didn’t King start this game?
  2. 2 top end and a mid-rotation guy. Not just 3 depth.
  3. Team needs to add 3 starters before I starting thinking they’re good. Burke, Martin, and Cannon are more “first man up” when there are injuries to a rotation. Not penciled into 60% of the rotation.
  4. There lies the issue.
  5. I think so too. Unless they commit to moving one off the position.
  6. Yeah, I think he will be a semi-regular utility player.
  7. D. Colson, Teel, Quero, Shane Smith mostly keeping it away from an F. This team needs to add SP and a power bat or two before we're talking contention. With a lockout looming, I feel like Davis Martin, Sean Burke, and Jonathan Cannon are yet again locks for the OD rotation next year.
  8. Also won a World Series so that’s pretty cool. But also, glad they can’t re-sign him next year now.
  9. Maybe guys would have actually wanted to play through their boo-boos and worked harder.
  10. Cute that you think he currently has any say with the building of the team
  11. So have other past GMs with the Sox and other teams GMs' as well that have had success.
  12. Yeah it seems like the teams that are more match up based with the role are the ones that can’t really afford to spend on a closer.
  13. A cheap starter or two, a cheap reliever or two, maybe a cheap bench piece. But think on the position player side (assuming no trades), all these guys will be one the roster: 1. Kyle Teel C 2. Edgar Quero C 3. Colson Montgomery SS/3B 4. Chase Meidroth 2B/SS 5. Miguel Vargas 3B/1B 6. Lenyn Sosa 1B/2B/3B 7. Brooks Baldwin IF/OF (semi-regular role) 8. Luis Robert Jr CF (won't be traded) 9. Andrew Benintendi LF (won't be traded) 10. Mike Tauchman RF (cheap veteran presence, could possibly be traded) 11. Korey Lee C (if they commit to Teel/Quero getting regular at bats at DH and/or other positions, they could carry a 3rd catcher) 12. Corey Julks OF (this is a spot they can a cheap RHH bat for the bench) 13. Curtis Mead IF (not much room for him but he could be a bench piece; also another spot to add a cheap veteran back up, preferably one that can play great D at SS) I was less confident about those last 3 spots. Think I'm leaning they will go this route with a year of uncertainty coming than actual spending and trying to be good.
  14. Just not sure where else they would really spend that money. Think we’re pretty much looking at next year’s team right now.
  15. Why won't they spend big being the only big market team in their division? According to tray, we're just supposed to be happy we have a team, regardless of how shitty the organization has been lol
  16. Could see Tauchman tendered and traded this offseason. Sign a cheap stop gap that you can DFA when Braden is ready. Or keep Tauchman and move him to a bench role when Braden comes up. This stuff usually sorts itself out with injuries though.
  17. Sign Bieber, Merrill Kelly, Naylor and 2 relievers, keep your draft picks and try to be good.
  18. Definitely like what I've seen lately. Need to add a power bat (potentially 2), 2 legit starters (maybe a third back end guy) and a couple relievers this offseason. Kind of a tall order when you somewhat expect them to not add before the strike.
  19. Was trying to remember who they got off the top of my head and definitely forgot that name
  20. Remember when people thought Beavers wasn’t good enough to be a 2nd or 3rd piece in a Cease deal?
  21. I was a Romy fan too. I think it was the injuries that made them move on.
  22. They’re definitely more depth type guys and basically at their ceilings IMO. As always, would happily be proven wrong.
