This does not compute at all and in no way describes Rodon lol

So much for free agents being hurt by Covid (so far).

There it is. The kiss of death.

*insert typical Sox fan (out of all teams) response acting like they know other teams' finances and budget and how they can't sign said player*

Didn't he already comment on the losses from this past season? I'm afraid his big move (at least in his eyes) will be bringing his buddy out retirement to manage this team.

Too used to them being left with nothing but an empty bag. So we will probably be the team that has to find another option.

Point still stands that neither guy is blocked by signing a star player. Pretty ridiculous to think that.

Couple things: 1. neither of those guys are currently in the organization, 2. neither of those guys are guaranteed to be stars, even guaranteed MLBers for that matter as of now and 3. you could move Eloy to DH in a couple years which would free up an OF, if it were to become an issue (this would be a great problem to have).

And it was more geographic location than actual baseball related.

If people didn't know who the Bears owner was but knew how the Bears were run, you could guess that Jerry owned the team and it would be a good guess haha

Can any insider give us a heads up if they are even talking to him or have interest? Easy to just make a prediction based on who's out there, team need, what a team's payroll is currently, etc. I doubt Sherman actually knows if they are discussing a deal or not. Edit: He's not basing on anything other than educated guess, therefor , no legs. -

Wish there were some legs to this. Not just someone throwing shit at all seeing if it sticks. -

It's time to move on from the La Russa hire, folks
Bob Sacamano replied to ron883's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The last time I finally felt content (eh not a fan but was done being upset) about the hire, the news of the DUI came out. -
Engel is a fine platoon player from the right side. I'm good with that platoon in the 8-spot as long as the pitching is upgraded.

Not if they were commanding Vaughn at that time.

If no new RF by Nontender deadline, should Sox tender Mazara?
Bob Sacamano replied to YourWhatHurts's topic in Pale Hose Talk
If they tender him and release him by Spring Training, they only owe him what, 40% of his salary? I believe they did this with Lawrie, Viciedo, and Avi. -
They can technically agree to less money. The team just needs to offer 80% of the previous year's salary if it goes to an arbitration hearing.
-
Agreed 100%

This. I'm ok with the baseball rumors but don't need the back and forth.
