  1. Dude hit .297 with a .357 OBP against lefties last season. His overall career is just alright against lefties but I would take those 2019 numbers in a platoon all day.
  2. I feel like the Twins didn't do so bad here. Got a cheap starter under control for 3 years, $10 mill, and a prospect for a guy who seems likely ticketed for bullpen. Probably about a C here. Dodgers: A Red Sox: B
  3. Rays even have a lot of OF now so I'm not sure they are even a fit.
  4. Is Gavin Lux for sure the starting 2B for the Dodgers to open the year? If not, they can still find playing time for all their depth. Would require starting Bellinger or Pederson at 1B and shifting Muncy to 2B and using an OF of Bellinger/Pederson, Pollock and Betts. Chris Taylor and Kike Hernandez are bench/platoon guys mostly so there would still be PT for them against lefties. If Lux is their guy at 2B, I guess having Pollock as a backup OF/platoon with Joc for a while wouldn't be the worst. Plus injuries happen.
  5. I assume Dodgers would rather trade Pollock and move some of that salary (and probably have tried) but he just wouldn't have much interest.
  6. So you're saying trade for him and make Joc 4th OF? I'm not sure many want that. One thing that would for sure have to happen is if they get Joc, they would need a bench bat to platoon him with (trash against lefties so far over the course of 6 years). As far as everything we have heard so far, they don't plan on platooning Mazara (not at first anyway).
  7. This isn't a very good list for helping the left side of the infield.
  8. I don't see how? I would think not.
  9. Dodgers can still pull it off by themselves. Doesn't seem necessary for it to be a 3-team deal honestly.
  10. We actually don't know what the price is yet. All that's been reported is Joc, Strippling and a prospect would go to Angels. Only one player has been reported going the other way.
  11. Dodgers are sending over starting pitching depth and an OF prospect. You really think all the Angels are giving up is a backup IF?
  12. Nah. He was just running with stuff that was out there.
  13. What was the name of the other bat? The RF, former 2 way player (not that I have interest in that).
  14. Trading any of the top prospects for one year of Betts at this point would be fucking dumb./thread
  15. There was a funny Barstool article written from a Yankees fan that wondered how the Dodgers farm system would recover post-Betts trade. Showed the top 5 (maybe 10) prospects pre-Betts trade and then showed the same list post-Betts (obviously no difference and just a dig at the Boston fans in the office haha).
  16. I'd assume they'd actually want to hold onto Jansen. I liked the idea if Maeda as a swing man target since he consistently goes back and forth between rotation and bullpen but I'm not sure what I'd actually give up.
  17. Let's see the official full details before saying we should have acquired him, shall we? There's 4 names comfirmed but other prospects as well.
  18. Yep. The only way he isn't is if his 12 year, $450 mill (or whatever it was he wanted) is offered.
  19. Yeah I'm thinking Dodgers sign him long term. Either extend in season or next next offseason.
  20. Yeah it sucks, but they can always try to re-sign him next year. I don't think he'll be close to what he is asking for from them to sign now and they could be in on the bidding.
  21. Agreed with everything here. Not a bad spot to be in to have another team's number 4 hitter in our 8 spot.
  22. Makes sense. Everyone can chill with the takes haha what are we, rookies at baseball news? Theres usually more players.
