  1. Like Opening Day 2 years ago...draw it out for 2-3 hours and get those concessions in before PPD the game.
  2. I think many of us wouldn't mind it being delayed as long as possible today. I get home from work at around 5:40 so I wouldn't mind a 2-3 hour delay!
  3. Any team would have replaced them BEFORE going into a rebuild. Oh well.
  4. When I've played that game in the past, the "Oh this team is bad so the Sox will win the series," I was burned every year. Don't forget that we are still considered a bad team (until we see progress of course).
  5. Claimed by our favorite NL West team: the Padres.
  6. Man, they have nothing worth trading on the MLB roster. They are in for a looong rebuild. And if any of their top prospects come up and perform over the next couple of years, it almost feels like they have to work out an extension to buy a couple free agent years or trade them away later.
  7. Then you should change the statement in your initial comment as "one of the worst defensive outfields in baseball."
  8. If only he had been traded to the Tigers for a random international prospect.
  9. Platoon with Palka? Also, is he out of options? If so, that is why he is he going East.
  10. When you have an 8-man pen, I don't mind the 3 lefties.
  11. Yeah, I'll take the Padres version with Moncada at 2B. And I'm going to guess both sides are confident that they can work out an extension.
  12. Thanks for theinfo.I heard recently that Munster may be getting a Metra stop soon. No idea about how the area is.
  13. Hey I don't hate to hear that at all. I honestly am unsure how the train line is from Indiana so this helps.
  14. Any other Metra users post on this site? I am currently looking to buy either a condo or townhouse. Currently, I have been looking mostly in the south suburbs (I take the Rock Island currently). I want to expand my search to include towns like Romeoville and Plainfield since just by browsing, I've come across some good, affordable homes out that way. Also, the market is dry right now around Frankfort/Tinley Park/Orland Park/New Lenox. The problem is, it doesn't seem like the Metra lines that are nearby (Plainfield and Romeoville) are consistent. My cousin lives in Plainfield and said that when he worked downtown, he used to have to drive 20 minutes to the closest Metra station (I'm currently within 6 minutes to the one I go to). I can't imagine doing that in the winter making my commute longer. As for Romeoville's Metra station, there are only 3 trains that go to the city in the morning and 4, throughout the day, that go from the city making that difficult on days I may get stuck at the office late unexpectedly. Does anyone who lives in either town (or a neighboring town for that matter) have any advice on the commute to the city using the Metra from around that way?
  15. This is enough of a reason to stop arguing with the poster, ha.
  16. Future Hall of Famer Adrian Beltre? Really?
  17. The big market teams were near or over the luxury tax line. Yankees also made an offer on him with a high AAV but short-term. Remember, they are paying Stanton and will have to pay their other home-grown stars soon (judge). Also, I expect them to sign Cole next off-season since Tanaka and CC will be free agents. They're loaded on hitting compared to pitching
  18. No one would disagree with you about him not being an elite shortstop. In fact, no one is even saying that he is one. It's not the position he will be playing go forward. This is why you come off as not being a good baseball observer or not paying attention to some here.
  19. If he hates Machado, it certainly isn't for what he can do on a baseball field.
  20. Did Machado kick your dog or something?
  21. Full of awful takes in this thread this morning.
