  1. And with Abreu re-signed to a 1 year deal (hopefully only one year), they let him walk after next year and Sheets plays 1B until Vaughn is ready to come up. Then he moved back to DH.
  2. The way the young guys on the roster are playing, along with adding a starter or 2, a RF, and a couple RPs, they don't need Robert to be great next season. He can develop over the course of next year.
  3. Why does him getting called up next year mean he will suck as opposed to seeing one month this year? Him getting called up this year doesn't mean he's automatically going to be good next year. And who knows, maybe they will call him up next year and then struggle will be minimal in the beginning only.
  4. The right move with the current roster construction. See you in September, Zack.
  5. Scouting and talent evaluators.
  6. Good idea. We can bench Robert and Madrigal when they get called up and make them earn it too.
  7. Yes, alot of awful takes for sure.
  8. Dude only plays once or twice a week. He needs at bats to adjust and get acclimated.
  9. I was honestly surprised at how Collins looked the first time I saw him in an MLB game this year. From what you read about him, you would think he was a lot fatter when he really isn't that big.
  10. Not that I think he will get traded, but they could re-sign him in the off-season if they wanted to.
  11. Which you'd expect when he's playing what, once, twice a week?
  12. Think it is more about not giving Collins the at bats, which I think would come more having 3 catchers on the roster if they wanted when Castillo comes off IL.
  13. I completely agree. He should be getting regular at bats in the majors.
  14. So to recap: Palka sent down for Reed. Collins will be sent down for the rehabbing Beef so he can receieve consistent at bats and catch. It's good that Collins was at least able to get a taste of the majors and kind of learn a bit and work with McCann. Catcher is a different animal compared to other spots on the field. A little bit more onboarding than most positions. Just wish he could have receive at bats as the DH while "onboarding."
  15. Have you seen his Triple-A numbers this year?

Feel free to share. The board has been a good place to come to for career advice (especially for me over the past few weeks).
  17. He may not get a shot at the MLB level. As of right now, Abreu and Collins will be getting the 1B and DH at bats (when Wely is back) and I don't think McCann or Abreu gets dealt.
  18. Him being on the roster allows both McCann and Collins to be in the lineup every day. Teams do not normally start their only 2 catchers in the same lineup every day. Theres value in him being on the team with Collins up.
  19. Reed was assigned to Triple-A. I'd bet on Wely coming off the IL after the break and Collins getting a bulk of the DH at bats.
  20. Guessing Wely gets activated on Friday.
  21. Sign Cole and then a back-end rotation type please.
  22. Eloy slowing down going after the ball and letting Schwarber take 2.
  23. It's different when you are doing it for a hit.
