  1. Didn't seem to prevent them from making a contract extension offer to Harper though.
  2. Oh shit my bad. Comment deleted for being a dumb ass.
  3. He can wait as long as he wants for them to move money but it doesn't mean it will eventually happen.
  4. I wonder if the front office has dates in mind for bumping the offer. For example: "once it hits this date, we tell him we'll tack on another year if he signs today" type of thing. Obviously they have an idea of how high they are willing to go and I doubt they are anywhere near that yet.
  5. This is what I'm still afraid of. Machado to Phillies and Harper back to Nats.
  6. Could say the same about the Sox. It doesn't seem likely for any team to give out two of the biggest deals in baseball in one offseason.
  7. Apparently he said that weeks ago. But I also could have sworn I read other reporters say it.
  8. Yeah if the Sox don't sign him by then, they better hope he hasn't signed with anyone by that time.
  9. We're at the point now where if we don't land either one, we deserve to be livid as fans. At least one should be falling into our lap. Signing neither is not an option for this organization.
  10. I really wanted the Brewers to improve and sign DJ for 2B (wanted them to grab Lowrie). Oh well. A package deal of Bumgarner and Panik works too.
  11. Seeing as Lowrie signed yesterday and was a better fit, I'm going to assume the Yankees didnt want to give him 2 years.
  12. Just read hes going to be used at the corners and 2B. No faith in the quad-A duo of Bird and Voit I guess.
  13. I'm still operating under the idea that Tulo shouldn't be blocking anyone (as we all should).
  14. So DJ at 2B, Gleyber at SS, Tulo shifted to 3B or utility role? Or DJ to 3B? The DH spot is pretty open too.
  15. As they should be. He's still out there and the Sox haven't committed another huge contract yet.
  16. Saw Swihart avoided arbitration with the Red Sox. I kinda feel bad for that dude's career. They kept switching his position, he demanded trades, Red Sox always put a high price on him. Definitely a guy who should have been a change of scenery type of guy to like Tampa or Pittsburg a long time ago.
  17. Sounds like hes throwing shit at the wall based on them meeting tomorrow.
  18. Get it done. 10 years, $300m, and Ozzie Guillen's first born son. On second thought, he can have all of them.
  19. And if they had, I'm sure he would know SS isn't an option for the Sox with Anderson there.
  20. We don't know that this is the hold. It's speculation that and it probably isn't even that much of a factor. My God this board needs a real rumor.
