Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
Unless any sources knows they are really close to the finish line, best not to share.

Eloy opening day if he earns it
In a couple of years. Lindor has 3 years of control and Ramirez 5.

Outfield Moves if No Harper
Not sure I would use the word "amazing" when it comes to a 34-year old Span. Rather just let Palka play.

Outfield Moves if No Harper
Before an injury shortened 2017 season, his minor league numbers suggest that he is a guy who is capable of drawing some walks at about a 10% clip (not great but not bad either). Last year in the majors, he was at about 6%. I'm willing to give him another year to see what he is. Heck, his power alone warrants it. Edit: yes, he's likely nothing special. But if he hits for enough power, I don't mind him hitting 6th or 7th in the DH spot after all the other key pieces.

Eloy opening day if he earns it
Yeah definitely not trading a year for 3 weeks, ha.

Outfield Moves if No Harper
Eloy has played a decent amount of RF. He's played more LF for sure. Do we know if he is bad in RF? I'm actually asking because I don't know.

Outfield Moves if No Harper
Do we know for sure he won't be in LF? Is Eloy 100% playing LF when he comes up?

Eloy opening day if he earns it
This right here. He was never taking a discount. Never taking a team friendly extension. He is 100% hitting free agency. You definitely have to keep him under control as long as possible (so the 6+ years).

Eloy opening day if he earns it
They tried to sign him to an extension last year. I assume it would have brought him into the majors last year up until the same year of free agency he's on pace for. Would have just kept him arb numbers lower than what he would get going year to year.

Eloy opening day if he earns it
Source? I'm sure he would if they pay him the most...
-
Eloy opening day if he earns it
All players know that organizations do this. It's not exactly breaking news or something new.

Outfield Moves if No Harper
Don't do anything. Let Palka get his 3 ABs a game and then bring Engel in for defense.
-
Eloy opening day if he earns it
This is stupid. Literally every team does/would do the same.
-
Eloy opening day if he earns it
He'd probably leave for the most money regardless.

Carter Capps?
If your definition of an innings eater is 150 innings at least, then you can easily get by with a cheap, veteran on an MLB deal, a couple of MLB vets on minor league deals for depth in case the other guy gets hurt, and/or the Jordan Stephens and Jordan Guerreros of the world to give them a look at the MLB level. Assuming his finger is fine, Santana should be a decent innings eater himself. I don't expect much out of Nova and expect him to be cut for Cease in July/August personally. Honestly, I would prefer James Shields for a couple mill over Nova. Shields even pitches more and will go at least 6 even if he's given up 4-5 runs.

2018-9 MLB off season free agency thread
Hanley pounded lefties last year. Bauers, not so much. Could be a good platoon.

I doubt the Sox are that serious.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
They can't deal Pollock until a certain date since he signed this offseason. I don't want Pederson though. Not without the Machado move.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
I would think so too. Expected to be cheaper that Harper (going into the offseason as well), better positional fit, spent money and a prospect to bring in close friends.

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
In this case I'm not sure. Bring in his friends and pay him likely less than what Harper will get would seem to be there most preference and most attainable.
