Any Interest in Clayton Richard?
Minor league deal, sure.

Sox still in the running for Harper/Machado
Could be. I expect it to be a reliever like Ottavino. If I recall, it didn't seem like a lot of teams were in on Kikuchi. Maybe a team can get him on a deal similar to Maeda (he signed for 8 years, $25m which is a steal).

Harper to Phillies 13yr/330 mil
This might be the only shot for them to play together. Assuming Bryant signs a huge deal, both Harper and Bryant's deals won't come from the same team.

Sox still in the running for Harper/Machado
I don't know. I kinda take the "won't sign until 2019" as "won't sign until after holidays." I bet he signs in the first couple weeks. Just my 2 cents.

Right? Theres no reason to believe we would be out.

I didn't know that benefits were factored into the luxury tax number either.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
As I've said before, this would be a good trade if it didn't involve the Reds. Now if it was a team that was actually good last year, different story.

Its calculated based on AAV of their contracts. Don't just look at 2019 salary alone.

To go from Beltre to possibly Davidson...yuck.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Damn you're right. I thought I read he has 2.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Wood has 2 years of control left. If he's pitching good, they should be able to get something back for him in July.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Hey if they can steal a few wins from the Cubs, that's all I care about. Cardinals and Reds should be better next year. Just need the Pirates to make some moves.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Yeah they should have stayed stronger and insisted on lesser prospects it anything.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
If you break it up, theres the exchange of the big contracts in Bailey and Kemp. And the you have Wood and Puig who should command something back. It just doesn't make sense that the something came from the Reds.

Yeah I'm not reading into Tweets from media members to random people. I'm just waiting on the "Harper/Machado close to signing with ______" update.

I think Realmuto (and maybe even Merrifield) qualify as right-handed impact bats. That would be C and 2B and RF could still be open for a certain big signing.

Machado: Update - Manny, do you officially like us?
Yeah and Palka will likely still get every day at bats assuming they don't sign Harper.

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
Why?

Dodgers & Reds trade (Kemp, Puig, & Wood to CIN, Bailey, Josiah Gray & Jeter Downs to LA)
I mean, Kemp, Wood and Puig aren't exactly useless players here. It just doesn't make sense for the Reds to really deal prospects for them. The only bad part is Kemp's salary and the fact hes basically a DH. And who knows, a team in on Cruz can trade for him and only have to pay him for one year instead of Cruz for 2-3 years.

That's true they are lefty heavy but their bench consists of mostly right handed bats to platoon with them. Forgot about Freese even at 1B.

Taylor and Keke at least help balance that out since Pederson and Muncy are more platoon players it seems. Hopefully they sign Pollock though.

I think it's only happened a couple times. Jamey Carroll is one I recall (team that received him first probably had no interest in keeping him beyond the year they dealt for him and the other team just took him back).
