  1. I think it's only happened a couple times. Jamey Carroll is one I recall (team that received him first probably had no interest in keeping him beyond the year they dealt for him and the other team just took him back).
  2. Pretty sure it's illegal.
  3. Yeah these just seem like overpays.
  4. Some of those seem like overpays for some teams, especially for the teams likely to be rebuilding next year l with one more year left on a bad deal (Ex: Felix, Gordon).

The bolded is the truth. The current department I work in is a mess.
  6. How can he sell the Sox when he hasn't actually played for them? He likely knows as much about the Sox as Manny does after his Manny's day of meeting with them (maybe less).
  7. Hes probably really not even in the picture right now to be honest. But yeah, I'd give him a shot.
  8. And Taylor and Keke get no shortage of at bats with most of those guys being lefties.
  9. Grab Kluber and sign Keuchel and suddenly, they look good. Their offense wasn't bad last year.
  10. But then that other team would have the hit on their luxury tax and they may not want that either.
  11. I'm not sure if that's accurate. Does anyone know for sure? One way to find out is how much of James Shields salary effected our luxury tax since the Padres sent us money.
  12. They've only formally announced it an hour or so ago. Not that long.
  13. I think it would count against the Marlins. They take on the salary but receive cash to pay him. It's not just just splitting the contract.
  14. lol as long as someone else is proposing it and I won't have to.
  15. Only options I would want for next off-season seem to be Arenado and Rendon and I would bet on one of them re-signing or extending.
  16. Also a good point. Muncy might end up being terrible, Turner will probably see time on the DL again, who knows how Seager will do this year. Taylor is pretty valuable on that team.
  17. As a 4th OF, fine. Guy can come in and play for Palka late in the game (assuming Palka's late inning heroics won't possibly be playing a factor).
  18. Viva la switch pitcher! https://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2018/12/giants-sign-pat-venditte.html
  19. That's another one too. I'd rather see him in than Engel.
  20. That's fair. I too would rather have the prospects but it's really not that common of a thing that happens where you get a teams best young MLB players or top prospects in deals like that. And I think they will end up dealing Wood and Kemp anyway.
  21. At some point, they have to get with the times and sign a big free agent deal. What better time than when there are 2 26-years olds on the market? When will they get this opportunity again?
  22. Those names get thrown out since they're not really crippling and easier to move than say an albatross contract or two. I'd only really do that deal if we landed Machado though since there isn't anything left on the FA market to plug holes with.
  23. They're expecting him and he's not random (not sure what point that even means since a random person can still walk in) but that doesn't mean keep the door unlocked lol someone would just open it when he gets there as someone did after he tried entering.
  24. This is funny but the one of the things that bugs me about yesterday: why are people making a big deal about the door being locked to get into the stadium? Shouldn't it be expected that random people can't just walk in? lol
