  1. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 13, 2017 -> 09:57 AM) Who got sent down? May? We gotta see an all Garcia outfield at some point now. f*** yeah we do.
  2. QUOTE (ChiliIrishHammock24 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:57 PM) Fulmer got dicked by his defense there. Groundball up the middle, the SS fielded it, but instead of throwing to 1st for the 3rd out, he tried to run to tag 2B. He slipped, then dove to the base and the runner beat him. So now it's bases loaded for Fulmer, and the next batter hits a towering drive to the RF wall and it appears to go off the RF's glove at the wall and all 3 runs score. All 3 SHOULD be unearned, because of either the SS or the RF, but both were ruled hits. If he was on the run and had to reach for it (I didn't see it), it's not and should not be scored an error (but should still be caught). Kinda depends on how tough of a play it is with fly balls. Now, the typical dropped fly ball from Alex Rios that seemed to occur more frequently than it should have, yes, that is an error.
  3. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:33 PM) I think *at best* he could be seen as a depth piece for a possible contender. But I don't see any team holding off on trading for Q because they can get Derek Holland (obviously for significantly less, but still) instead. Half a good season of Scott Feldman got the Cubs that failed prospect Jake Arrieta. You never know.
  4. QUOTE (maxjusttyped @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:30 PM) I don't think it's possible for Holland to pitch well enough for teams to actually trust starting him in a playoff game. But for a team to trade for to help fill out a rotation to get to the playoffs? Sure.
  5. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:28 PM) To be fair he was just comparing their ability to get in front of the ball on D. Yep but either way, 2 names that should probably ever be uttered in the same sentence.
  6. QUOTE (Big Hurtin @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 06:24 PM) Damn, did I miss a Catfish Hunter anecdote? You missed a Tyler Saladino/Cal Ripken Jr comparison lol
  7. QUOTE (greg775 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) What a pathetic lineup. What a pathetic baseball team. Wonder what Vegas odds are tonight. It's got to be Cleveland -350? -400? Gee, it's almost like they're in the first season of a rebuild or something.
  8. QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 02:30 PM) I really can't remember any other time the Sox have started a game a 5pm central. East coast Saturday night games seem to be at 5pm.
  9. QUOTE (ChiSox59 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 02:24 PM) 6pm is that strange of a start time, I suppose. FAR FAR FAR FAR FAR better than another damn day game. Yeah 6pm isn't that weird. 4pm is odd.
  10. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 12:29 PM) I don't associate with idiots enough I guess. Cubs are just another team to me. This s*** ended when I became an adult and 2005 was kind of the end of it all. Same really. Kinda grew out of that in high school (if not sooner).
  11. QUOTE (ChiSoxFanMike @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 09:47 AM) I might have interest in Clayton Blackburn if I was the Sox. He was DFAed by the Giants yesterday. He is receiving trade interest so we will see. He likely wouldn't make it to us if that is the case if the idea is to wait to claim if since another team in the NL likely would.
  12. QUOTE (shipps @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 09:23 AM) There are people that get all those right and still sound like absolute morons because of their opinion or thought. But I get it, pet peeves are all across the board different. Mine is the sound of someone chewing their food, I cant stand it to where it makes me physically uncomfortable that its hard for me to not say something to the person about it. Mine is definitely watching tv or a movie that you're really into with someone and they set their phone on a table only for it to vibrate on the table every text. Or hanging with people and majority of the time, they're just staring at their phone the entire time. It's like why are we hanging out? Try to live in the moment people.
  13. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:58 AM) Thanks for the advice. Guess I will have to research things like maybe how to make apps work on my ancient android . But I like the idea of paying less but I suppose I need wi fi instead of wired service for my computer first.$60 a month from Charter Spectrum seems expensive for only wired service. Sorry, I meant to install the kodi app on the fire stick but yes I think you do need wifi.
  14. QUOTE (CaliSoxFanViaSWside @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:44 AM) I spend my TV money on getting the DirecTV baseball and hockey packages, not HBO, so yea, no Game of Thrones for me either. Step 1: purchase Amazon fire stick ($40) Step 2: install kodi app (free) Step 3: cancel Netflix and hulu (and any other video streaming service) Step 4: profit
  15. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Apr 12, 2017 -> 08:45 AM) I always just use commas and periods everywhere. Even in text messages. I don't like to appear uneducated. Same.
  16. QUOTE (Moncada @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:27 PM) Frazier ties it up. He has looked good today Need him to get hot for a while.
  17. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 04:19 PM) ... Pitch-framing though./green
  18. QUOTE (Feeky Magee @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:46 PM) Eephus strikeout! Gotta do what you gotta do.
  19. QUOTE (Scoots @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:38 PM) There's a reason why they almost won it all last year Would have been interesting to see a healthy Salazar, Carrasco, and Brantley in that series.
  20. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:33 PM) Why are you still commenting on this pointless thread? You don't understand my points, that's clear. I'm not berating you. No one here agrees with you but I guess I'm the one who doesn't understand.
  21. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:31 PM) Again, I'm still stuck on this point - why was a guy like Asche a guy they targeted to give a flier in spring to give a chance to compete for a spot. He just seemed like the wrong type of player for what the Sox are trying to do, that's all. So he's bad but not the bad we need. Got it.
  22. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) Thank you for doing your part to add to the discussion. Your comments are appreciated. Since it's a pointless thread, by all means, exit the conversation. Thanks again. No problem sir. You asked and I gave you 6 legitimate reasons. The reason you still don't understand at this point is on you.
  23. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:21 PM) For one thing, he's hurt. For another, he missed most of last year and was brutal in the spring. That's true too. Liriano is on minor league dl. Forgot to mention before.
  24. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:19 PM) What would have been the cost of Rymer Liriano? The same that Asche is costing us and you will see him at some point anyway. Jesus what a pointless thread lol
  25. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Apr 11, 2017 -> 03:18 PM) Yes, the guy who didn't play a single game last year. The same guy that k'd I think it was over 20 times in Spring Training? He'll be here as well at some point.
