  1. They'll snap out of it sooner than later. We've seen every year, with every team when they go through funks. Baseball always seems to balance itself out. We said all along there was no way they should have been doing some of the things they were doing with all these guys out of the lineup......sort of coming back to earth right now.
  2. The AB's are brutal right now. Everyone seems to be just going through it right now. They'll snap out of it...but it's a rough watch right now.
  3. That I disagree with. I don't think it was an overpay at all.
  4. You’re 100% right…but aside from Gallo…I didn’t feel like there were a ton of great fits for the Sox on the hitters market. Given their limited assets to trade…I feel like the Sox made the right gamble.
  5. Checked my sources on this one….can confirm this is all accurate lol
  6. Think I may just pick back up White Sox baseball in October ?
  7. I think there is a component of people not be ready for the next phase of White Sox baseball. It was a rude awakening for people. You spend years talking about "the core" and the future, what potential lineups will look like, etc......Nicky was in all of them. Obviously not on the same impact level of guys like Eloy, Moncada, Robert, Gio, etc.....but a guy that was in everyone's lineup. There is some shock to the system when you remove that. It wasn't part of the plan. But we're here now. They built a team that is running away with the division and considered one of the World Series favorites. These are the type of moves teams in those positions make. It's go time. And in my opinion, and the opinion of Hahn and Kenny.....Craig Kimbrell helps the Sox get closer to another World Series more than Nicky does.
  8. Of course he doesn't. Comparing Torres and Madrigal, especially the Torres of 2015 is like comparing apples to bowling balls. I see very scenarios where trading Nick Madrigal comes back to "haunt" the Sox...
  9. It also needs to be said that Rick and the FO deserve a lot of credit for not putting their feet up after the first deal with the Cubs. The odds of the White Sox and Cubs doing two separate deals for bullpen help at the deadline seems astronomically low, not to mention the Sox clearly having to beat out multiple teams for the services of Kimbrell. They saw what others teams were doing and kept pace....and deserve credit for that.
  10. Truthfully not sure how I personally feel being on the exact same page with KW and Rick.......but I'll take it.
  11. I’m confused though. Is it also a club option if he doesn’t meet those numbers? sportac lists it as this: 2022 Vesting/Club option includes a $1M buyout
  12. Seriously, how stupid was that? I mentioned it earlier in this thread. I can’t believe they published that.
  13. Now we’re starting to ask the questions that matter….hahah
  14. Invest heavily only comes down to money, and over the last 2 years, my worries and frustrations about the Sox not spending aren’t really there anymore.
  15. Who decided you need an oft-injured slapdick 2B during your World Series window?
  16. I know the Sox have never been huge spenders….but I just can’t imagine they make a move like this that will prevent them from doing something big in the future. On top of it, if it’s that big of a deal, don’t pick up the option. Or trade him!
  17. For real? You’re going to b**** and moan about using past history as our best indicator but are fine giving Rodon a shit ton of money???
  18. NONE of this matters. Who cares about 4 months ago? Do you know how much changes in 4 months? They made a move to acquire a player that they desperately needed, and he was the best one out there. And they used assets that weren’t serving a purpose for the 2021 team.
  19. If they signed Donovan Solano for 2 years, you’re basically getting Nicky..
