That’s an awesome W

1. Having Kopech hit if this was the plan is a joke 2. With that said, I don’t blame TLR in this sitch given what the bullpen has done the last month. It just shows how much they need multiple arms at the deadline.

That NL West is just an absolute terrordome.

It's not worth the time with @Jack Parkman. I let myself get sucked in sometimes, but he'll never change, and that's not a crime. It just won't happen. In my opinion, it's sad for someone that spends as much time on this board (which means a lot of time on White Sox baseball) to not be able to enjoy the come up. And I know he'll come in and say "No I enjoy the games, I had a lot of fun when I went to the game last week!" but when two losses happen, it's back to "Well I just don't think they'll do anything in the playoffs, I won't buy in until they win the ALCS." To not be able to let yourself go a little bit and let fantasy and hope wash over you from time to time is a very sad and dark way to live life, ESPECIALLY when baseball is simply a choice of entertainment we all make. I've always wondered....lets say you do "Let yourself go" and really buy into the White Sox as World Series favorites this year. And then they lose to the Astros in the ALCS......what do you think is going to happen to you? It's going to suck, it's going to be a kick in the balls for a night.....then you move on. When the Hawks lost in Game 7 to the Kings in 2013-2014, I was in a Hawks bar in Southern California watching with about 45 other fans and it was one of the most deflating feelings ever when it ended in OT. I was convinced that season was another Stanley Cup Championship. It wasn't. And it stung for probably 24-48 hours. But that season was amazing, a ton of great moments, and if memory serves correct....things ended up OK the next season.

Then log the fuck off, you insane baby.

Truly one of the most predictable threads in Soxtalk history. The Brewers pitching staff has been the hottest in baseball, and the Sox we’re facing their Top 3. In addition, the Sox are missing 4(!!!) offensive starters from their lineup. They’re on the road, and the Sox bullpen has been a mess lately. I mean, what did you think this series was going to look like? Yes, the Sox will almost certainly add a few bullpen arms at the deadline. They need to. But aside from that, the season rests on the additions of Eloy, Robert and Grandal. I don’t think people truly understand what a full, healthy lineup will look like and how it changes the entire makeup of the team.

It’s a pretty large step up if everything that has come out thus far is true. Far different than not liking Rick Hahn because of some trades or Jerry not spending… In terms of the deal…I just don’t totally get it. It seems like once again the Hawks set their focus on Seth Jones and we’re going to acquire him no matter what. The amount of draft capital they had to give up, not to much the gigantic cap hit….I just don’t see it

The problem is because of my lack of faith in Bowman...I think this is all just a fools errand, but I also can understand not trying to totally rebuild with Kane and (maybe) Toews still here. I just don't see how these guys get back to a Stanley Cup the next 3-4 seasons.

I'm fine with that, but the cap hit sucks.

As many people have mentioned, this is just a very bad take. He signed a contract with the White Sox. They are thus far the only organization to give him a shot at the ML level. He gave them an incredible start to the season, and the White Sox did plenty to help turn him into a star. The LaRussa stuff happened and I've made my thoughts very clear on that. However, Yermin going back down to AAA was all on Yermin. If anything, the Sox gave him more rope than normal seeing as he really can't play a position and if he's only paid to hit, batting .140 or whatever he did from May on probably isn't going to keep you on a lot of ML rosters. But most importantly...handle yourself like a professional. Ask the team for a trade. I'd be shocked if Hahn and Co. wouldn't try and seek that out for him. Don't bail and "retire" because you're unhappy, then have your family members take to social media to explain the situation. Because this doesn't seem like a mental thing at this point, it seems like a "I'm not a AAA ball player anymore, this is bullshit, I want to play somewhere else and since I haven't gotten my way, I'm going to take my ball and go home." type situation, which I just can't get behind.

Nick Madrigal does not have more value in a trade package than Eloy Jimenez. That's bananaland.

Two things can be true at once. TLR was 100% wrong in how he handled the 3-0 count/HR situation with Yermin. Basically the entire roster sided with Yermin over Tony. It was dumb then and it's still dumb now. Under no circumstance should that situation lead someone to retire from the sport. Yermin had an incredible 6 week run or whatever it was, but decided he was "above" making adjustments at the plate, wanted to keep doing his own thing, and it led to him going back to AAA. If TLR throwing him under the bus was really his mental downfall, he didn't have much of a future with MLB to start with... I wish the best for him, he's clearing upset with something and if he's not happy....go find that happiness.

This one is lame, even by your standards.

Totally agree. Again, I love going to the theater. I also have no problem supporting films and my local theater. But if I’m given the option, during the pandemic….I know what I’m picking.
-
Correct. If Dems really wanted everyone to take it, they’d back off and let Trump/the right take all the credit for the good and health of the country. But that will never happen, obviously.
-
As they should. It’s not just the right-wing talking point of “Well if they choose not to get the vax and you do, then you’ll be fine and they might get sick…what’s the big deal to you?” Which of course misses the point of starting to see rollbacks in masks indoors and the possibility of cancelling major events because a bunch of idiots take the advice of Tucker Carlson and The Daily Wire over science.

It mentions it in the article, but them releasing it on Disney+ was always going to keep people away. Not only do we live in an age of comfort and accessibility, but the second it got placed on D+, it was on the torrent sites. Going to the movies is a great time, but it also can require a lot of planning for people with children or busy schedules, not to mention the cost. If I could get it at home, possibly even for free….yeah I’m not going to my local theater.
