  1. This is 98% a great post and spot on. The only issue is not with the specific players, but general philosophy about what is actually going on today. Rays-Blue Jays-Yankees-Dodgers-Padres are all making big moves to try and bolster their rosters to give them the best chance to win the World Series. The Sox acquired a utility man and bullpen arm that might throw 25 innings for them. If wanting them to be more aggressive is wrong.... then so are the Ryas-Blue Jays-Yankees-Dodgers-Padres.
  2. As others have said, if they don't make another move....they are playing to win the division and that's it. Can they win the World Series? Absoltuely. But they aren't treating the deadline like that, at all.
  3. Ugh, hate having Austin Martin in this division now.
  4. This is going to piss me off.
  5. I think that's a fair way to put it, but I think we should all expect more than just "the minimum." I'm not asking them to make moves like the Dodgers did, but I feel like they are going to rest on the "Eloy/Robert/Grandal are going to be our deadline moves, we really didn't have to do much" line and I just can't agree with that. Don't just be OK, get greedy. Go for it. Be loaded with talent. They just don't operate that way...
  6. Could be worse......We could be the Yankees.
  7. Just take the L and save some innings on his arm
  8. I want another arm and/or catcher.
  9. August is a tough schedule and people are going to absolutely meltdown around here when they lose games to good teams.
  10. Sort of feel like this clip is relevant on a day like today with this lineup...
  11. This is the only issue I have with it. But honestly, I don't hate the thought process by TLR. It's going to be awful out there today, and the Sox have already had enough hamstring issues.....with this divison lead...they can do things like this from time to time.
  12. It should. I was convinced (and still am) Colorado is going to be asking for a package of prospects deserving of trading for a star.........which Story is far from. Especially on the White Sox. I'm glad they passed.
  13. God, if the Sox could just get "good" Bummer for a stretch here...
  14. That's just his face
  15. This OF D is a fucking JOKE
  16. I think the Sox have a number of those hitters....Abreu-Eloy-Robert-Anderson-Moncada all sort of fit that same description. I'm not saying one more wouldn't help.....but unless the Sox are planning on making 3 or 4 additions in the next few days, I just don't know if Story should be "the move" I think it's a little too much flash where a mix of Escobar and 2 bullpen arms might cost the same as Story does, and I think it could help a lot more.
  17. I still just don't see the fit with Story 1. Right-handed bat, hits LHP much better than RHP 2. They are going to ask him to play a new position 3. He's a .243 hitter outside of Coors 4. He's not having a stellar 2021 I don't even count him being an FA after the season as a negative....but again I just don't know if he's the right fit for this team, especially given what I think will be somewhat of an inflated cost because of his name.
