  1. I've been saying for a while the lineup was going to get exposed sooner or later.....not because I'm a genius, but because of course it was. Eloy is a HUGE bat in this lineup. Robert can be incredibly dangerous as well. Losing Nicky can hurt as well. Add in guys like Yermin who are batting like .160 over the last month......the Sox are going to look bad against good teams right now. The good news? 1. All they have to do is win the division. October is a long way away and hopefully Eloy and Robert are back healthy, which totally changes the makeup of the team 2. The pitching has been incredible, and hopefully, it continues, and maybe a few new arms are brought in 3. Who knows the issues other teams face from now until October This team has gotten destroyed by injuries and still had the best record in baseball like 3 days ago. It's fairly incredible. They'll be fine.
  2. I don't mind getting some power out of the 2B spot....he just doesn't seem good at anything else. It would be very meh for me, which hopefully is the cost of Escobar as well....just a meh prospect.
  3. I don't want to rush to defend the Bears, but they just spent over 100 million to renovate Hallas Hall in 2019. That's a lot different than the billions a new stadium would cost, but not sure I would consider them "very cheap"...
  4. Man I really hope this happens. Build a place they can host a SB, concerts, etc.
  5. Don’t you understand? The only reason the Sox are where they are right now is because of starting pitching…..so the Sox should trade one of those pitchers for prospects in the offseason because……yeah.
  6. Totally agree, ptatc. Every case is different, but given what Vaughn has shown (and what he hasn't) at this point....I don't know how much AAA really does for him.
  7. If everyone was healthy maybe you send him down but at this point they just need healthy bodies. Plus….I’ve read a few different pieces that talk about the gap between AAA and MLB has never been bigger in terms of talent/play so you could make the argument AAA doesn’t help his development all that much
  8. He’s on pace for 32 HR’s and 85 RBI’s on an unimpressive Nats team. He’s also improved his defense to be a very serviceable level. I mean, you’re just making stuff up at this point.
  9. You have a while to make that decision, and there is a good chance it gets answered for you. But if you had to decide right now, assuming Hamilton was healthy, Mercedes probably is odd man out because of a lack of position.
  10. Have the Nats throw in Jordy Mercer in the deal, problem solved.
  11. No I get it, and I don't really think you are wrong.....but obviously they can't acquire everything and no roster is going to be perfect. If they can acquire a bat like Schwarber, I think allows Leury to basically just go back to INF work, which sort of solves that issue. Lamb can also play 3B obviously, so basically Leury is your backup 2B/SS.
  12. They can find that guy very easily, in the Timo Perez/Geoff Blum role that basically gets dealt for a PTBNL
  13. I’m not convinced the Sox need a replacement at 2B right now, I really believe Mendick can do the job. The Sox are 37-6 when they hit a HR this season, and I do think that stat does have some significance. I think Schwarber could be had for less than Frazier and probably a similar package to Escobar. Him being a LH power bat also gives this lineup a little more balance, and would really be some nice insurance when guys get back.
  14. Not sure but I assume you'll find something wrong with it
  15. I just wish there wasn't a rule in baseball where you can't use your best pitcher late in games. Fucking MLB, man....
  16. I really don't think they need to upgrade there with Madgrial down. Find a bullpen arm and maybe another UTL bat
  17. That's a sexy Mandick if I've ever seen one
  18. This is where a competent manager is missed.
