  1. That was really incredible. Be in position to win on the road vs the Lions and Flus STILL finds a way to put his stamp on it
  2. Coaching shouldn't matter this much, but if Harbaugh is the coach of the 2024 Bears, I truly think they have 7 wins right now.
  3. Even with the small sample size, why would you want to change anything, especially now. I saw some people talking about Flus being fired after the Lions game and Thomas Brown taking over. Why put more responsibility on him now, when things seem to be working? Keep him in the OC role. At the end of the year, I would hope they do an exhaustive search for a new HC. If they do, they will find someone more qualified than Thomas Brown. If they want to keep him as OC, great. But the expectations should be raised from Thomas Brown.
  4. I'm sorry, were these not quotes from you less than 24 hours ago? You said "The salary cap is the issue, not the alleged frugality of Jerry Reinsdorf? What did you mean by that, other than "Teams shouldn't be allowed to spend whatever they want, if there was a more level playing field, the White Sox would have a better chance of competing?" Please, enlighten the rest of us. As far your second graph, I've got bad news, and then worse news for you. 1. I'll post and reply to whatever I choose to 2. You can't do anything about that, so you're just going to have to put on your big boy pants and deal with it.
  5. Here are some other facts the author doesn't include: The Milwaukee Brewers were 21st in payroll in 2024, at 115 million. They were also 16th in attendance, coming in at 2.5 million fans. They won 93 games and their division by double digits. In 2023, they won 92 games and their division by 9 games. They were 16th in payroll in 2023, and 15th in attendance. The Cleveland Guardians were 23rd in payroll in 2024, at 106 million. They were also 20th in attendance, coming it at just over 2 million fans. They won 92 games and their division. Additionally, the article states: It has been proven time and time again you don't need a payroll in the Top 5 to stay competitive and make the playoffs consistently, but instead a strong organizational philosophy and player development. In the case of the White Sox, it has also been proven fans will attend when a good product is on the field. The organization historically has not held up their end of the bargain. The entire premise of your argument is "There should be a salary cap so teams won't be able to spend as much, and that in turn should make the White Sox more competitive." While that premise is absolutely flawed, even if we used that premise, teams would adapt and spend in other areas of the organization that doesn't impact payroll to give themselves a competitive advantage, something the White Sox have shown absolutely no interest in doing. But keep carrying water for one of the worst owners in sports. You're doing great.
  6. Stop trying to argue with dolts. It doesn't work.
  7. This honestly has to be a bit
  8. By that logic, why are you even saying anything?
  9. But that's true if he does a great job or a poor job. Unless Getz performs a literal miracle in the next two seasons, he's going to have one of the worst W-L records of all-time as a GM, and if Jerry were to go in the next 2-3 years, the entire FO would almost certainly be replaced. The point, and it's a correct one...the odds are incredibly high Chris Getz will be the last GM Jerry has as owner of the White Sox.
  10. No one disagrees here. The problem is we don’t know if Jerry feels the same way. They want to get rid of the salary, clearly. We don’t know what directives Getz has been given by ownership. They can also easily “open up AB’s” by cutting him, but of course they won’t do that. What we do know as objective fact is no one is taking him on for a prospect or league minimum player. He won’t be moved unless the Sox are also taking on salary, or he is included in a package with Crochet or another positive value player. It doesn’t make sense to lessen the value of the Crochet package to include him. But just because we don’t agree with it doesn’t mean it won’t happen. It may not, but I would say it’s possible given ownership
  11. Because...you were wrong. On top of it, you also criticized greg for HIS honest opinions, listing out each bullpen pitcher and why they don't "blow" (Spoiler alert, they did, in fact, blow) This is coming from the same person who will move the goal posts when anyone calls you out and say "Resorting to personal attacks just lessens your argument" then two posts later will call someone an idiot. Look in the mirror, take the L and stop arguing with anyone who has a negative opinion on the team. Given the Sox track record, they're probably right.
  12. That would be the appropriate feeling in this case
  13. I obviously don't think it happens because of the items you listed, but I do think the concept still makes sense, in addition to the idea of trading away a 25 year old arm like Crochet is generally a mistake, especially when it's for lottery tickets and the track record the White Sox have in player development.
  14. IMO, there would be a compelling pitch to be made to Crochet that would be somewhat unique to the White Sox, and that would be significantly front loading the contract extension. The Sox payroll should be historically low the next 2 seasons, Crochet is still just 25. Additionally, it's objectively true he's dealt with injuries and missed significant time during his career, which creates risk for both Crochet and the team signing him to an extension. A front loaded deal gets him paid more, faster, and creates payroll flexibility for the White Sox in 2027-2028 when theoretically the team is in a position to compete, and Crochet is still 28-29 years old.
  15. I'm going to be more sad for the fan base lol
  16. I absolutely think, at this point on November 19th, it's not a slam dunk that Flus is gone. He absolutely should be, no question...but based on the Bears history, I don't think it's 100% at this point.
  17. I think the Bears should hire Bill Self as the next head coach. Might be controversial, but he’s a really good coach, think it could translate into football.
  18. I’d still take a talented roster over talented coaching staff, the best coach in the world can only do so much with a shitty roster, but if anything, you need both for a successful team. Can’t remember a situation like this one in my sports fandom, where it’s just so evident the decisions being made on the sidelines are impacting the results this much. They have failed at historical levels when you consider how many games they have blown with 95% odds to win a game in the 4th quarter.
  19. IMO, the most frustrating part of this is I don’t believe that’s true, it’s a rare case where the coaching really has made a major, major impact on things. I think this is a talented roster, albeit with some holes, but with a good coaching staff, this team has at least 7 wins right now
  20. Incredible catches from Rome
  21. Seems like the biggest difference is some designed plays for Caleb to run, which I can get behind. Not a great half, but progress
  22. Since 2000, the Ravens and Steelers has been one of the best rilvaries in the NFL, and entering this Sunday, since 2000, the point differential in their matchups is 3 points. Without looking it up, anyone have a guess what the point differential is between the Bears and Packers since 2000?
  23. This is like arguing about Chris Sale getting traded, and some fans not understanding no one WANTS to trade him, but they understand the situation the Sox are in. I don't think they are going 9-8. Neither does Dick Allen. We're simply stating how he would stay
  24. I also agree that if they are 9-8, really no matter how they get there, he should be gone. Also don't think it's mathematically possible, but if they won 9 games and somehow made the playoffs, there is no way he doesn't come back. Again, everyone here is agreeing no one wants Flus back, I think we're talking about realistically what WILL happen...but I certainly hope internally, he would have to pull off some real magic to keep his job at the end of the year. He should have been fired last season, and certainly this Monday....but here we are.
