  1. 14 hours is far too long for this thread not to have a post in it
  2. I've very rarely questioned guys work ethic or said someone is "soft" because we simply don't know what we don't know..... But Moncada is soft as baby s%*#. It's incredibly obvious.
  3. Very well put, Joe.
  4. It doesn't have to be like this.
  5. How involved do you think Jerry is in the hiring and decision of the scouting and minor league operations staff? That falls under Williams and Hahn. Neither one of us know the detailed inner workings of the Sox, but from a basic standpoint, all baseball operations fall under the President of Baseball Ops and General Manager. That's Kenny and Rick. Again, there are 100% limitations placed on Rick when signing top dollar talent. My point is, there are plenty of teams that face those issues and seem to figure out solutions. The Sox have the most expensive bullpen in the majors. Maybe take 10 million of that and put it into the minor league development staff? I'm just not going to accept any sort of excuses for Rick. And if it was truly as bad as you are making it, he isn't an indentured servant. If it's that bad...leave. He hasn't.
  6. This is the same as asking “Who’s vacuuming the floors of the Titanic?” Who cares
  7. Bullshit There is nothing misleading about the Sox having an 180 million dollar payroll this year, and being 7-15, along with all the other stats that have been mentioned. You act as if Rick Hahn has never met Jerry or has no understanding of how he operates. Yes, he isn’t able to sign a Bryce Harper. That sucks for us and Rick, and Jerry needs to go. We are all on the same page. But to place all the blame on Jerry, and taking any of the blame off Rick is insane and asinine. We just got swept by the best team in the league, who hold a payroll of 74 million. They have been in the playoffs the last 4 years, and currently have the best record in MLB. The decisions Rick have made has directly put the Sox in this position. It’s his job to work within the limitations the owner sets, which quite frankly isn’t near as limiting as teams like the Rays, Brewers, Guardians, etc…who have had a way better track record than the Sox the last decade.
  8. The Sox “window” started in 2020, after a 72-89 2019 season. As we know, since the start of the 2nd half of 2021, the Sox have been under .500 during that time. They’ve now played more baseball under .500 during their “window” than above it. Let that sink in for the “mastermind” that is Rick Hahn.
  9. Or do they all know they literally can’t be fired and have tenure, and just stopped caring?
  10. I’m excited about the upcoming Bears season and hopefully the seasons that follow. Aside from that, there isn’t much in this city to get excited about, and that’s the problem. The last 5-6 years have been dreadful in this city. Our teams suck. All of them. We’ve forgotten what’s it’s like to have a real shot to win something. Once we have that, the feelings will come back.
  11. I'm not offended ? I'm laughing at living on such an alternate reality as everyone else, and then getting defensive about it.
  12. You've been judging the Sox "on paper" for the last 2+ seasons, how has that worked out for you? The Rays could not be more different than the Sox. They pitch incredibly well (don't strike a ton of guys out but also have given up the fewest hits in the league thus far), have the lowest WHIP in the league, they lead the league in HR's, OBP & AVG and play good to very good defense. The Sox trout out a collection of over-hyped, yet to deliver and expensive talent that has them holding a deserving 7-12 record. It's amazing to see you not only hype up the Sox over the last year, but use terms like "ordinary" and "doesn't pop off the page" when talking about a franchise that has made the playoffs the last 4 seasons, in one of the toughest divisions in baseball, with an incredibly small payroll, and are currently 16-3. GMAFB
  13. They're a really fun watch honestly.
  14. I suppose more cowbell couldn't hurt the situation.
  15. The depressing thing is none of it matters. They continue on this path....they are who they are. They "blow it all up"...It's the same FO that got us into this mess They hire a new FO...best case scenario, but there is absolutely zero history to tell us the right hires will be made, not with Jerry still running the show. The same has been true for the last decade+...This is our best hope:
  16. As of today, since the start of the 2nd half of the 2021 season, the White Sox are…. 126-125 During the peak “World Series Window”
  17. All of this is correct. “Hope” is pretty much at an all-time low. As I’ve said multiple times before, Hahn and his front office are a huge problem. I do believe that the “right” person could work and be successful under the limitations JR puts on his FO. But as you mentioned, even if Hahn and the FO is gutted, why should we have any faith that JR would bring in the “right” person? Everything needs to change, starting with the Owner, but that’s also a total crap shoot. Put another way, it absolutely sucks being a White Sox fan.
  18. “Air” was great
  19. The term “smug asshole” seems appropriate here, no?
  20. Guys...Relax! It's early! It's only April!
