My meatball take for the day is if these guys keep winning, I don't mind TLR mixing things up and keeping guys fresh. As others have already mentioned, from an offensive side, this team is in fact pretty deep and they should take advantage of that by keeping guys active and in the lineup, which should help in the dog days of August. Vaughn being a platoon player is dumb as hell but I think he's going to hit well enough that TLR will be forced to make him an everyday guy...but other than that, I don't mind the different lineups every day...to a point.

1. The game was also designed to be...one game. Playing 18 innings in one day is far too much baseball 2. If we are talking about game design and how things were in the past, you're also talking about pitchers that would throw 300 innings in one season, teams hitting a combined 40 HR's in 140 games, and a good SO/W rate in the 2's... Things change....in 2022 with the way bullpens and starters are used, when a DH takes place, I like a team getting those 4 combined innings back and speeding up what is already far too long of a game, generally. -

Keep DH's to 7 innings. No runner on second bullshit in extras, but I liked the 7 inning DH's. -
I would have loved for them to sign Suzuki, but in my rare defense of the Sox......everyone in the league is envious of the pipeline the Sox have created in Cuba. They can't have it all...(I'm not saying they couldn't have signed Suzuki, but it's not like they aren't players in the International Market)

Anytime the Sox can win a game that was started by Vince Velasquez, that’s a major plus.
-
I just don't see anyway that happens. If he's got a 3.20 ERA or something in mid-June, maybe....but if he's anything like the Dallas of 2021, there is no way he approaches 160 IP, and the Sox won't let themselves be on the hook for 20 million in 2023. No way, no how.

In his defense, dude said he was drunk and having himself a good time. Let the man live -
Yep, in agreement there, everyone is going to go through it at some point. My issue the whole time has been you could see that coming for everyone....just don't feel like the Sox were prepared for it.
-
Yeah but once you see it, it's almost impossible to forget about it. That's something that stays with you for a long time.....

At this point, most teams 3-4-5 are better than what the Sox have throwing out there, and it’s not like it’s always going to be a No. 5 starter vs. No. 5 starter in each matchup….things get blown up after the first few games. Not trying to be overly negative, this team 100% has the bats to overcome some bad starts….but that won’t last forever. Their current rotation is in a BAD place right now.
-
My thought is things are going to get a little ugly before they get better. They are going to miss at least two Gio starts, Lynn is out for 4-6 weeks. Meaning as of right now, the Sox currently have a rotation of Cease-Kopech-Keuchel-Velasquez-Unnamed Keuchel could bounce back this season and Velasquez could surprise, but both seem unlikely. Then you just have an open spot right now as the 5th starter....April might be rough for our Sox.

You can feel any way you want. I can disagree with it, but it doesn’t mean you can’t do it. You call it “integrity” I call it awful business. But given the track record of this franchise, it checks out. Like when the Sox couldn’t agree with Lucas Giolito, you know, the Opening Day starter that’s actually on the team, over 50k. 50,000 thousand dollars. But please, tell me more about the “integrity” of this franchise. Go on..
