Sad part is they’ve gotten a lot of the fan base to buy into that same way of thinking. “All they have to do is make the playoffs, anything can happen once you’re in!” What a crock of shit.

If another ML team was interested in Andrew Vaughn, you think they are acquiring him and not knowing what they are getting? You think a GM just fires up MLB.com and watches highlights? “Before the rest of the league finds out?” Because you watch Sox games, you think you have a better idea who Vaughn is than an advanced scouting department for a major league organization?

This was obviously made public to send a warning shot to the locker room that changes may be coming if this doesn’t get turned around soon. You don’t tell the press about a closed door meeting unless you want it public for a reason.

The combination of Kenny and Rick oversee the entire organization. That goes beyond just the 40-man roster. That includes minor league roster construction, coaching staffs, analytic departments, scouting staffs, etc. The “good” news is I still believe they did a very good job assembling a core that would be ready to compete at a very high level, all in their primes. No easy task and I believe they successfully identified a very strong amount of talent from other organizations to acquire, and found ways to make it happen. The “bad” news is similar to the Bears who refuse to surround their key pieces (or piece in the current case of Fields) with the necessary talent needed, you have a flawed roster that has their window close prematurely. This includes a training staff that seemingly can’t keep those key investments on the field, as well as a manager who uses philosophies from the late 70’s in 2022. Additionally, when moves like trading Madrigal are made, they have no acceptable replacements ready to fill the void. Awful free agent additions add up to a pretty bad formula.

Honestly, I envy you. I wish I rooted for a team where I could defend their decisions and see the logic in what they are doing. Must feel good. Alas, I root for the White Sox.

I’ll explain it to you. I’m not ok just getting into the playoffs and “seeing what happens.” The Astros, who out classed the Sox in 2021, have made 5 straight ALCS. That’s not luck. The attitude your describing is the attitude the Sox have taken, which has earned them one of the most depressing 100 year stretches for any professional franchise. I’m not going to apologize for wanting more. You shouldn’t either.

This is also true. You can do almost anything on cable. The only reason they don't is advertising dollars.

Awful Announcing ran the story, I actually think it was just perfect timing. When you listen to it, it 100% sounds like he says "Are you shitting me?" But the one announcer says "Sheets" right as he is talking, and I think he is really saying "Are you kidding me?" but the Sheets lines up perfectly with the start of kidding, which gets you "shitting"

If you replaced “guys” with “folks” I couldn’t tell the difference between a greg post and a Jack post at this point.

8 years?!?! 8 YEARS???!?!?!?! Over the last 100 years, the Sox have won three Playoff Series. They all happened in 2005. They didn't make the playoffs in 2001-2002-2003-2004-2006-2007-2009. So it's sort of safe to say that 2005 team had a giant horseshoe up their collective ass. This franchise has had an embarrassing century.

The Sox have been crediting their 5 run comeback against LA (which was a loss) as what gave them all the momentum on this streak. Can absolutely work the other way with a L like this.
