  1. As my old man says, don’t get in a pissing match with a skunk.
  2. I’m inclined to believe the truth is somewhere in the middle of what Rick and Joshua are claiming. If someone could make notes of Ozzie on the pregame it would be appreciated.
  3. Burger was talked about on FG’s Daily Prospect Notes: Notes A rare “two guys from the same org” appearance in DPN was necessitated by Burger’s fantastic night. I did film analysis of Burger this morning, with a focus on his defense at second base. He hasn’t had a ton of opportunities there since he’s only played four games. He clearly has well-below average range but he can make routine plays and has been fine working around the second base bag turning tailor made double plays. Burger will also occasionally make spectacular, high-effort plays at third base but his footwork on defense is hampered by his lack of athleticism. When he can set himself and uncork a strong throw, his arm is above-average. Offensively, he’s a bit of a free swinger and is especially apt to swing over top of breaking balls down and away from him, but the hit/power combination here is still going to allow for some kind of big league role. Burger’s story is one of incredible perseverance and he also seems like a funny, affable guy who you want in your clubhouse. The White Sox still have a glut of relatively positionless bats that puts a lot of pressure on the health of Leury García, the only player who provides real defensive flexibility on their roster. Teams should be primed to pilfer one from Chicago if injury befalls one of Chicago’s up-the-middle players forcing them to make a move, but I don’t know if Burger can be had at this point because he’s playing so well. They have notes for Cespedes as well for those interested.
  4. Well he won’t be starting a rehab assignment Monday.
  5. Used to work in the industry and stayed in touch with a few people.
  6. That was the impression I got. I am by no means an insider or whatever. Every now and then I can get tidbits of info, and based on what I was told it sounded like the Sox were being very aggressive. It’s still early so I’m going to stay optimistic.
  7. How’s it look for you fella? I’ll hang up
  8. I’m not an “insider” for the Sox. I have a bit of an insight with the blue jays. Everything my guy is telling me is the Sox are going crazy. Expect something soon
  9. I’d prefer to let the hamburger man rake for a while. He’s not the solution.
  10. Toronto forecast is hard, stormy rain starting tonight and not ending for a week. I can live in the rain. My dedication to the White Sox is that I will happily take downpours here if it’s sunny for baseball down on Chicago.
  11. I like rabbit’s forecast better. Jk, thanks for the reply.
  12. Is it gonna piss down there or what?
  13. I’d like Frazier, as he mashes RHP and has just about his whole career. Reynolds would be great too. Both would be costly, but I wonder if the Sox would be willing to take on Polanco and his salary to lessen the prospect capital. Doubtful given JR still owns the team, just a thought.
  14. Different situation. He wanted Leury to try to pepper the hole on the left side of the infield.
  15. I need to go change my underpants.
  16. I mentioned in the other thread, Escobar was pulled in the top of the 5th. No apparent injury. The score was 7-1, but top 5 seems early and he was the only player subbed out. Not a double switch or anything. prob nothing, but maybe not.
