  1. It isn’t you. The way it’s described is misleading. The typical way to describe a contract is MaxYears/MaxMoney, but this contract is unique and general talk about it has been confusing and misleading. I like the deal. It’s basically the Will Smith deal with an innovative compromise for a “4th year” love or hate Hahn, he is good with contract structure.
  2. I guess the big difference is that at no point in this contract is it actually 18M/per for for some reason some people can’t comprehend that
  3. That’s a good argument. And I makes me feel better about it. But the way I see it, we already have some high upside arms in-house whereby we can dream on upside. Burnes saw his for a decent stretch, but I’d rather get a boring innings guy for only money and see if our guys can fill out the rest.
  4. Isn’t the 40 man at 39? otherwise Zavala is a candidate, too
  5. I know Burnes was phenomenal last year, but he was putrid in 2019 in a roughly equal sample. His pitch data changed significantly, also, but I need a better track record for that package.
  6. I think Tyler Flowers makes a lot of sense.
  7. Haha well hey that’s just my observation. I’ve been wrong before.
  8. I think his best shot is with another organization, personally.
  9. The difference is Harold never claimed or tried to “break” info. That said, it’s entirely plausible the food guys get info, but not enough to know when things are done. Either way I don’t get the hand wringing. If Harold already knows everyone why does he care?
  10. I’d be fine with Collins and going from there, but was reading an interview with Mickey Tettleton on FanGraphs where he mentions how particular Tony was about certain guys catching certain pitchers. It got me wondering whom he might have in mind as a backup. thoughts?
  11. I know this is just a joke... but my cousin was a prominent nhl player and he has spent chunks of off-season time with his agent on numerous occasions. I don’t think it is that rare.
  12. I follow the site more often than posts would suggest, and you are a good contributor. I don’t intend to be an asshole, just kidding around most of the time.
  13. Kopech is SP Crochet is RP I think that’s the max value of both likely outcome and there isn’t wrong with either. Bullpen still has a stigma, but an arm like Crochet than can be deployed most days is an absolute weapon.
  14. This is definitely something that hasn’t been debated here and deserves its own thread.
  15. I’m excited to see what this young man can do for our young arms. The harsh words for cooper are unfortunate, as he was an organizational asset for a long time, but the time had clearly come to say goodbye.
  16. He was one of the managers growing up every fan knew. I don’t know a ton about him but from afar, but even from afar was a great ambassador for the game and we should all honour him. Even the Phanatic. Hopefully there’s an afterlife of some sort and if there is it will have a baseball diamond.
  17. He added some cut. He’s staying tall and ditched his curve.
  18. The ballpark pigs’ buttholes are aged to perfection over the winter months.
  19. I definitely think Deputy McNobody is to blame for everything that happened today.
  20. I think he should be an opener every six days/emergency reliever otherwise. Three or so innings. It’ll help the rest of the staff as well after short workloads in 2020. Evaluate after the season.
  21. I feel it in your balls too. Don’t look down.
  22. His chance at redemption should be long, long gone.
