The typical way to describe a contract is MaxYears/MaxMoney, but this contract is unique and general talk about it has been confusing and misleading. I like the deal. It’s basically the Will Smith deal with an innovative compromise for a “4th year” love or hate Hahn, he is good with contract structure.

I know Burnes was phenomenal last year, but he was putrid in 2019 in a roughly equal sample. His pitch data changed significantly, also, but I need a better track record for that package.

I’m excited to see what this young man can do for our young arms. The harsh words for cooper are unfortunate, as he was an organizational asset for a long time, but the time had clearly come to say goodbye.
