  1. Did anyone watching the CSN broadcast just hear a kid say "penis", or am I hearing things? Lol
  2. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ May 10, 2016 -> 07:49 PM) What a joke. Why did they even start this game? Any prolonged delay and Rodon will be out, and we will have another bullpen day. To be fair, the Rangers used their bullpen heavily yesterday, so they'd be in a bit of trouble too. This is why I like having Carroll. He can pitch 4-5 innings at a time without worry.
  3. Why is he not using his slider at all? That's probably why he's been ineffective.
  4. Wish Avila was catching Rodon.
  5. I'm starting to lose patience with Rodon. He has too much talent to be pitching like this.
  6. That baserunning was...um, unfortunate.
  7. I'm sorry, but that article is stupid. His K/9 so far this year is 8.4, and it's steadily climbing with every start. It's not like he's John Danks who could barely strike someone out to save his life. His stuff is just as dominant as it's always been, but he's choosing to use it less this year to get deeper in games. Who cares how he's getting outs as long as he's getting the job done? He can strike anyone out whenever he needs to, but he's finally learned that being efficient is more important than having ridiculous K numbers.
  8. Adams, Danish, Hawkins, and Engel for Markakis, Teheran, and $5 million. Which team would say no to that deal?
  9. What about a Markakis/Teheran combo if the Sox take on all of the salary?
  10. If this is the real Avi, man, this lineup is dangerous...especially if Hahn adds another lefty bat like CarGo or Reddick.
  11. I'll go with Austin Jackson tonight.
  12. QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:50 AM) @obxleatherman Every team who has played at Turner Field this season has won at least two games there, except the Braves. That's actually mind boggling considering that it's May 10th. Wow. I had no idea that they were that bad.
  13. Eovaldi is an interesting name. He's just 26 and is a free agent after the 2018 season, so he fits perfectly into the Sox's window of contention. I wonder what it'd take to get him.
  14. QUOTE (flavum @ May 10, 2016 -> 11:21 AM) I usually don't root for a rain out, but Friday could be wet in NY. A couple days off for the pen might be to our advantage. That would be nice. The bullpen could be rested, as well as Sale and Q if they got pushed back a day.
  15. I gotta assume that DRob is unavailable today, right? This would be his third consecutive day of pitching and he was terrible yesterday.
  16. Why do the Cubs want Braun? Their offense is already stacked, they need pitching.
  17. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 10, 2016 -> 09:48 AM) Petricka is not garbage. He's a reliever who can't strike anyone out and has horrible control. How is he good?
  18. Jackson isn't 25 anymore; his best years are behind him. However, he is still very good defensively and provides some veteran leadership.
  19. QUOTE (bmags @ May 10, 2016 -> 08:30 AM) So will Carroll be up until Petricka is back? Call me crazy, but I'd rather have Carroll. Petricka is garbage and if nothing else, Carroll is a true long man that can eat innings when the game is out of hand.
  20. Am I the only one that tries to avoid a public restroom as much as possible just because it's unsanitary and annoying? lol
  21. Side note...the Sox are 4-0 when I make a game thread this year.
  22. I fully expected them to lose in the 10th inning when the Rangers had guys on 1st and 3rd and 1 out. Lawrie made a hell of a play there and Frazier came through in the clutch once again. I love this team. They simply don't quit...ever. I can live with the occasional loss because they always give 100% each and every day. 13 games over .500 on May 10th. I don't think anyone could have envisioned the team being this good. I'm not complaining though.
  23. I don't know how they managed to win last night, but I'm just enjoying the ride. Our 23 year old stud is going to dominate these f***ers. Go Sox!
  24. QUOTE (fathom @ May 9, 2016 -> 10:04 PM) For who? Putnam? I don't know, I don't care. Robertson has nothing tonight and he'll lose us the game if he stays in.
  25. For the love of God, can Robin pull DRob before he loses the game?
