  1. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 09:26 PM) 105-78 Cool beans, didn't know MLB added 21 extra games this year.
  2. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 03:48 PM) I agree that you lost the trade short term, but with your insane pitching staff, you should be ok in the short and you grow in the long term. Your OF continues to remain a bunch of above average misfits, but Granderson's power could be solid for your lineup. Any luck on the front of 2-for-1 deals for a more elite OF option? Thanks for the comment! I did make another trade today. I gave up A.J. Ramos and Stephen Vogt for Adam Jones and Evan Longoria. I thought I made out well on the deal. If nothing else, Jones is a legit outfielder that can one of my better players on offense.
  3. 130-32, with all 32 losses coming from games that Danks started.
  4. QUOTE (gosoxgo2005 @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 08:29 AM) Maybe because he had an OBP of like 4 billion last year? If the Sox landed Votto and put him in the 2 hole it would be the best middle of the order in all of baseball. Jays included. Who cares how old he is. Even if his OBP dipped 50 points it's still over .400. I'll take that every day of the week and twice on Sunday, regardless of how much he's owed or how old he is If you want to pay him $25 million a season when he's 34, 35, 36, 37, 38, and 39 years old, then go right ahead. I just think that's a terrible idea that would restrict future payroll flexibility greatly.
  5. QUOTE (Jerksticks @ Mar 9, 2016 -> 07:32 AM) I'll eat the whole plate of s*** if we get Votto. Why would we want Votto? His contract is horrific and he's on the wrong side of 30.
  6. Bruce Irvin is reportedly signing with the Raiders. That's...surprising.
  7. QUOTE (ptatc @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 04:38 PM) Three starts each is nowhere near enough work prior to beginning the season. They are currently doing "B" games and the dreaded simulated games on the side to get work in. The fewer games means less stressful innings on the arms. That's what I mean. Three starts + the simulated games and side sessions.
  8. QUOTE (flavum @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 11:16 AM) I'm looking at March 19th as the start of the countdown to opening day and being worried about stuff. When Sale makes his first start, they should go around the rotation three times before opening night. Hopefully the 3-19 to 4-2 period will go smoothly, and they'll be healthy and ready to roll on April 4th. This is what I'm thinking as well. Nice post. As long as none of them are hurt, 3 starts each should give them more than enough reps for the beginning of the season. There's no need to overuse them in exhibition games IMO.
  9. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 08:46 AM) 2006 was on the pitchers for sure. Buehrle had a 5 ERA, Vazquez was horrible... they were all pretty bad. Then, on the other hand, you get 16 HR/.295 BA from Pierzynski, .313/35/113 from Konerko, .281/18/67 from Iguchi, 21/71 from Uribe, .283/30/94 from Crede, 40 SB's from Podsednik, .315/44/120 from Dye, .288/42/109 from Thome, .285 in 304 PA from Cintron, .290 in 290 PA for Mackowiak, .328 in 203 PA for Ozuna, .327 in 167 PA for Gload... such a stacked team offensively, but horrible pitching. Reminds me of the 2015 Blue Jays, to some extent. Imagine that offense with the current pitching staff. Wow.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 8, 2016 -> 08:17 AM) Find an organization that has a backlog of AAA outfielders and trade Olt there. Since Olt already went through waivers, any team would have been able to claim him for free. With that in mind, I highly doubt any team would want to trade for him.
  11. I'm going to bump this up to add some of my predictions for the newest members of the team. Todd Frazier - .271, 172 H, 29 HR, 97 RBI Brett Lawrie - .263, 158 H, 19 HR, 74 RBI Jimmy Rollins - .252, 118 H, 9 HR, 43 RBI Austin Jackson - .263, 134 H, 12 HR, 56 RBI Mat Latos - 12-9, 3.72 ERA, 159 K's Feel free to share any predictions you might have as well!
  12. John Danks goes 33-0 with a 0.00 ERA, wins the MVP, CY, and GG Awards, and leads the Sox to the World Series.
  13. I ended up trading Cole Hamels and Ender Inciarte for Carlos Rodon and Curtis Granderson in my H2H points dynasty league, so my team depth chart is: C - Posey/Vogt 1B - Encarnacion/Vogt/Bell 2B - Pedroia/Lawrie/Happ SS - Russell/Miller/Swanson/Bregman 3B - Seager/Lawrie/Nunez OF - Kemp/Pence/Granderson/Piscotty/Yelich/Calhoun/Miller/Winker/Happ/Clark SP - Sale/Price/Bumgarner/Tanaka/Quintana/Chen/Rodon/Finnegan/Norris RP - Papelbon/Ramos/Street/Perkins/Tolleson I probably lost this deal short term, but I love Rodon and his potential so I had to pull the trigger.
  14. Does this move take Shuck out of the 4th outfielder position? If Avi is on the team as well, I just can't see the Sox carrying 5 outfielders at the same time.
  15. QUOTE (BigHurt3515 @ Mar 6, 2016 -> 05:01 PM) That is the only way you would be pumped for baseball to start? Don't be so greedy. C, 2B, 3B, OF all improved I'm already pumped, I'd just be more pumped haha. Either way, the Sox have improved so much this offseason and I can't wait for season to start.
  16. Cut LaRoche and trade for Reddick, and man, I'd be so pumped for baseball to start. It won't happen but it's fun to dream lol.
  17. Obviously Jackson wasn't my first choice, but he makes this team SO much better. The defense just improved significantly and I'm taking the Sox seriously now.
  18. Jackson should bat 2nd IMO. Put another speedburner behind Eaton and infront of Abreu and Frazier.
  19. I asked Brian Bilek (raBBit) who he thinks the Sox are targeting regarding outfielders, and he said: Take it for what it's worth, but I figured I'd post about it.
  20. QUOTE (raBBit @ Mar 5, 2016 -> 02:08 PM) CarGo stuff is bull. Sox interest in Bruce isn't that high. They are working on something though. Why must you always intrigue us with these vague posts and then leave?
  21. QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Mar 5, 2016 -> 12:49 PM) Ethier? Thompson?
  22. QUOTE (iWin4Ron @ Mar 4, 2016 -> 11:14 PM) @WhiteSoxLifer, that article's comment section is a fun read. Someone proposed a Ben Paulsen + Cargo for LaRoche + Adams (prospect) trade. Uh, hell yeah. I dig some Paulsen. Um, why would the Rockies do that deal?
  23. I want Ryan Braun, assuming that Milwaukee eats a good portion of his contract.
  24. YES!!! YES!!! YES!!! f*** YES!!! This news should lower Sale's ERA by at least half a run.
