  1. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 12:50 PM) Some of that is ballpark corrected though since Felix pitches in Seattle. Houston isn't a pitcher's park, so Keuchel will have a stronger case if he's leading the ERA list. The Cell isn't a pitchers park either in my opinion.
  2. QUOTE (Condor13 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 10:55 AM) I see him having a very small chance but still a chance at getting to 4000 Ks but he has to keep up his current pace 4000 K's is going to be really hard for him to get to unless he pitches into his 40's IMO.
  3. Why should Konerko not even be considered? He was the face of the franchise for 15+ years and is 2nd to Thomas in almost all the important offensive categories in White Sox history.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 10:46 AM) I am having a hard time squinting hard enough to see Chris Sale getting to the 3000ish IP that he would need to do this. That is 15 years as a 200 IP per year starter. I know he hasn't had issues yet, but he is at just under 800 IP now, which means he still needs 11 more years of 200 IP per year. Yeah, I don't see that happening. If he continues at this pace, he'll only need 2700 or 2800 IP to get to 3000. But I get your point.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 15, 2015 -> 10:31 AM) The math would indicate he'll easily get 3000 K's if he makes 300 starts over the next 10 years. If he stays healthy and pitches to 38-39, he'll get over 3500 for sure. I guess it really depends how long he wants to pitch. The sky is the limit statistics wise for him as long as he stays healthy.
  6. I know 3000 K's is a really hard thing for a pitcher to accomplish in this day and age, but do you guys think that Sale could do it? He's at just about 900 through his age 26 season. He'll probably be closer to 1000 by the time that the season ends. I think the only current players that are locks to get 3000 K's are Felix Hernandez and Kershaw. I figured that this would be a nice discussion on an off day with no Sox baseball.
  7. My feeling regarding Sale pitching yesterday is this: If he wasn't going to start, I didn't want him to pitch at all.
  8. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 03:51 PM) If the voting were held today, would Sale win the CY? No. But all he has to do is lower is ERA by half a run or so in the second half of the season and I think he has it in the bag.
  9. I'm sort of glad in a way that he's not pitching. The games against KC are far more important, so I want him to pitch in one of those games instead.
  10. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Jul 14, 2015 -> 08:38 AM) espn.com lists Samardzija/Danks for Friday, Quintana for Saturday and TBA for Sunday. If I were Robin, I'd let Erik Johnson start after Shark on Friday and give Sale the ball on Sunday. I just don't see how Robin could just give one of these games away by putting in Danks. These are "must win" games, so a Danks should not pitch in this series.
  11. Why the f*** is Danks pitching the first day back? Move him to the bullpen for gods sake.
  12. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 11:13 AM) Is Jose hurt? What's the point of not playing him today otherwise? He looked like he was favoring one of his knees the past few games. Hopefully he'll be available as a pinch hitter today.
  13. Please give Q some runs to work with today. They need to knock Arrieta out of the game as soon as they can.
  14. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ Jul 12, 2015 -> 09:36 AM) This is why they'll try. If they get in, they can win the whole thing with their pitching. This is also why I'm so hesitant to move Samardzija. Even if the offense improves just a LITTLE bit, this team will be really good.
  15. Let's win tomorrow and sweep those damn Cubs out of Wrigley.
  16. I didn't want them to pinch hit for him either. Give him another inning.
  17. QUOTE (Jose Abreu @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 04:17 PM) This is why I dislike the NL. The Cubs could be threatening to score a run here with a man on, but instead, here comes Jon "1-68" Lester with 2 outs! It benefits us anyway so who cares.
  18. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 03:41 PM) It's so nice being able to listen to the Cubs broadcast instead of Hawk. Intelligent and coherent baseball talk for once. You're not a true Sox fan if you don't like Hawk. Kasper is an idiot when it comes to knowing anything about baseball.
  19. QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Jul 11, 2015 -> 03:32 PM) As much as I hate bunting, Sanchez needs to be bunting every time in that situation. Now you give Lester the chance for the quick inning. Why would you bunt in front of the pitcher? That'd be silly even if the pitcher hitting was Carlos Zambrano.
