Why do people want Dave Roberts? If he couldn’t lead the stacked Dodgers teams over the past few years to a title, how is there any reason to believe that he could lead the Sox to a championship?

The series in Cleveland sealed the deal for me. I didn’t like Ricky all that much from a on-field standpoint even before then, but bringing in Ruiz and then Rodon in critical games was the final straw. It was some of the worst managing I have ever seen, it’s like he was trying to lose his job.

This makes me think the Sox are definitely going to bring in a manager who uses analytics, which is a good thing.

I would love that. He’s coming off a rough season but I’d absolutely take him over Mazara. Give him a one year prove it deal and stick him in RF in 2021.

If the Sox were going to trade for any Phillies player, it should be Zack Wheeler. Pitching is the biggest need and Wheeler is obviously significantly cheaper than Harper.

I don’t like that either of them would bring their stained reputation to the Sox, but they are both far superior managers than Ricky and it’s not really all that close either.

Doesn’t Harper have a no trade clause anyway?

Brantley just seems like one of those guys who had a great career but forgets how to play baseball after they sign with the White Sox.

Obviously I want Bauer, but that is a bidding war I don’t expect the Sox to win. So give me Stroman, Quintana, a decent right fielder, and a closer and I’ll be happy. I’d love for Colome to come back.

Giolito/Keuchel/Stroman at the top isn’t bad at all. I’d also like Quintana back on a one year deal as an insurance policy.

Foster should have come into the game after Crochet got hurt. Like you said, he still might have been able to throw strikes but at least there wasn’t anyone on base at that point. But it’s all water under the bridge now.

Exactly. Everyone being angry about pulling Dunning is just revisionist history. I’m probably Ricky’s biggest critic but I don’t blame him that much for yesterday. Crochet getting hurt pretty much ruined the plan. The only things I blame Renteria for is using Bummer too early and putting Foster into that bases loaded situation.
