I don’t think Merkin would single out a specific player unless he was pretty sure the Sox would sign them. So that is probably good news.

I honestly don't think Castellanos would be that bad defensively in RF. And since the Sox now have Grandal, I'm fine with getting a right handed bat to fill RF, especially considering how good Castellanos is.

To be fair, my 88 year old grandmother is a better hitter than Billy Hamilton.

If the Sox get Wheeler or another top pitcher, I could live with Puig in RF. I’m just not thrilled with him. I think he’s overrated and I don’t know if he would cause problems in the clubhouse. Although the Sox have the Cuban thing going on so it might not be that big of a deal. Either way, I’d prefer Castellanos, David Peralta, Joc Pederson, etc over Puig.

I don’t want anything to do with Avi, Ozuna, or Puig. The Sox need to aim higher than that.

Typical SoxTalk overreacting to something that’s not even a big deal. I think this was an overpay, but it’s not the end of the world like you guys are making it out to be.
