You have mentioned in the past that JR is big on spending O.P.M (Other peoples money) I'm hoping JR is going to spend some of Ishbias money.

I could definitely comprehend it. I've been under the impression that Ishbia is going to put some money into the franchise. I just hope we find out if that is true. Whether the money goes towards players or a new stadium, I would feel alot better if something is done by him.

Most of the Boston fans and media are screaming their heads off about the Devers trade. Their saying that they received a bag of balls for Devers. I would like to think the White Sox could have sent a bag of balls to Boston for Devers.

When JR bought the White Sox he bought a bad team. First thing he did was sign 2 good free agents Fisk and Luzinski. It was a tremendous PR move. If it wasn't for the 1981 players strike the team was going to draw over 2 million for the first time. They were having walkup crowds of over 20,000 fans at some games.

I've been under the impression that the new owner (Ishbia) was suppose to spend some money on the team. Whether its a new stadium, better players or whatever else. Looks like its not going to be on better players.

I just read in todays Sun Times that the White Sox have the lowest team Batting Average in MLB. Adding Devers to the team for basically nothing would be a no brainer for me. Not only would he help the team offensively he would plug the hole the team has at 3rd base.

You add good players to a team to make it better. This White Sox team has lost numerous close games of no hitting. Devers can hit and play a decent 3rd base. He would have made the team better.

I was hoping that Ishbia would start putting some money into the team.

Devers didn't want to be a DH. He wanted to play his normal position which is 3rd base. Who would you rather have playing 3rd base for the White Sox, Devers or Josh Rojas? The Giants gave up next to nothing for Devers. The White Sox could have easily made the trade. It was simply a salary dump on Bostons part. The Giants fans have to be happy about this trade. The Giants are picking up Devers heavy contract. I wish the White Sox had done the same thing.

I thought with Ishbia buying into the team I'm hoping he pays some money for some good players. It would have been a great PR move for the team if they had traded for Devers. It looks to me like the Giants didn't give up much of anything for Devers.

There were rumors for the past few weeks that Boston was going to trade Devers. I was hoping he would be traded to the White Sox. I don't know what Boston received in return for Devers or how good they are. Still, his bat would have been a welcome addition to the White Sox lineup.
  12. 1) The Sun Times in todays paper said that after 60 at bats Elko looked overwhelmed at the plate. So he was sent down again. Kyle Teel looks absolutely lost at the plate. If this keeps this up I wonder if Teel will be sent down. 2) Nice article in todays Sun Times about MLB stadium rankings. It said The Rate is 19th out of 30 MLB parks. That seems to be a fair evaluation.
  13. Due to the fact he doesn't seem to fit into the future plans of the White Sox, you would think the decent thing to do is either trade him or release him.
  14. I keep reading that Nashville is going to get the next MLB team one way or another. I would think there is a better chance of Portland getting a team before Nashville. The metro Portland area is bigger than Nashville. And from what I've been reading Portland is going to build a MLB stadium and give the team who plays in it a tremendous deal. The team will keep all of the ticket, parking and concession money. The team will have to pay only $300,000 a year to lease the stadium. If all of this is true, Portland will get a MLB team before Nashville. I just hope its not the White Sox.
  15. Elko is the only person who has any power and they keep sending him down to the minor leagues. If I was him I would ask to be traded or released. Obviously he's not wanted here in Chicago. He's now being replaced by Noda who has no power.
  16. Elko was just sent down again. I'm not surprised but still they haven't given him a fair shot. If I was him i would ask to be traded. He obviously doesn't fit into the plans of the team.
  17. The organization has no regard for Elko. I would of rather had him hitting in the ninth inning instead of Taylor. I would also want Elko in the lineup instead of Rojas. I wouldn't be surprised if Elko was sent back down to the minors.
  18. No, but I know enough about sports owners. They usually take the best offer. I would feel alot better about the White Sox stadium situation if they commited to some stadium in the Chicagoland area.
  19. The Kansas offer is the better of the 2 offers. The proposed Kansas stadiums are 16 miles from the present stadiums in Kansas City. I would think both teams will take the Kansas offer.
  20. I just read where the State of Kansas offered both teams 70% of the cost of the stadiums. They must accept the offer by the end of June.
  21. I've noticed that the Nike White Sox City Connect jerseys and t-Shirts are being discounted on the internet. The hats are not being discounted. This tells me that the hats are selling and the new jerseys are not.
  22. I'm sure the details in Missouri will come out. I wonder if both teams are going to get new stadiums and how much both teams will have to pay. Also, I read a few days ago that the NFL is willing to give $300 million dollars towards a new Bears stadium. Thats not alot when the stadium will cost $5 billion dollars.
  23. The Missouri legislature passed some bill which will finance stadiums for the Royals and Chiefs. This should keep the teams in Missouri. The governor of Missouri is expected to sign the bill. The voters rejected a similar bill last year to finace both stadiums. I wonder how the owners of the Bears and White Sox feel about what is happening in Missouri.

If you dream the impossible dream, who knows it might happen.
  25. i was at the game today. I was surprised that alot of people left the stadium after Witt Jr hit his home run. I always stay til the end. I'm glad I definitely stayed today. The last of the ninth inning was exciting. As the great Bob Elson use to say "The game is never over until the final out'.
