Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?
WBWSF replied to GreatScott82's topic in Pale Hose Talk
From what I know the Ishbia brothers now own half of the White Sox stock. I take it that they are going to be the next White Sox owners someday. You mention how JR uses O.P.M. (other peoples money). I would think the only way JR would put money into a new stadium is with money from the Ishbia brothers.(O.P.M.) JR won't put a cent of his own money towards a new stadium. If the Ishbia brothers put money towards a new stadium, hopefully they will take over the team also. -
He might not be the bombing savior but all I'm saying is he deserves a chance. I'm tired of seeing Taylor , Rojas and some of their other players not produce..

You've posted in the past how you're not a fan of so called rebuilds. I happen to agree with you. What difference is there between rebuilding and losing on purpose? This rebuilding/losing on purchase is just a scam. The rebuild=low payroll and more money for the owner. This team lacks power hitters. Tim Elko who has power was brought up for a few games and hit 3 home runs. He was then sent down again. Is anybody going to tell me this isn't losing on purpose?
-
Tim Elko would be a better choice if you want to add power.
-
This handling of Elko has to be one of the strangest things I've seen. I take it Elko doesn't fit into the future of the team. Yet we are subjected to seeing Taylor, Rojas and Palacios every day in the lineup. Are these 3 players part of the teams future? Looking back at this Elko situation I can't understand why they called him up for a few days.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?

I read a couple days ago that one of the politicians told the Bears to try and get together with the White Sox in terms of 2 new stadiums. The Bears didn't do that. I've read that the new Bears stadium will cost $5 Billion dollars. If that's true does anybody really think that the Bears are going to come up with that type of money? It wouldn't surprise me if they stayed at their present stadium. Its been really quiet about a new White Sox stadium. -
What more does Elko have to prove in the minor leagues? I get the impression that the White Sox management doesn't have a high opinion of Elko. A couple of weeks ago Elko hit a home run in a game and a few innings later they pinched hit for him. If they are not going to play him in the majors I would think they would have the decency to trade him. Elko is suppose to be a really nice guy. His teammates speak highly of him. I hope he's given a chance somewhere if not here.
-
If I was Elko I would asked to be traded. I would like to think that some other MLB team would want him. There's no reason why he should be back in the minors.
-
Elko being sent down is crazy but I'm not surprised. These goofs who run this show don't think much of Elko. Recently Elko hit a home run in a game and was later removed for a pinch hitter. Obviously he is not in their future plans. Steve Stone who has become a notorious houseman has pointed out a few times that Elko has the one thing in MLB that teams are looking for, POWER. I'm curious to see what Stone says about Elko being demoted. I would guess he won't say anything. I hope the White Sox have the decency to release Elko. He would be picked up by some team and be a starter. If they released Vaughn I don't think any body would pick him up and start him in the MLB. He would probably be picked up by somebody and be in the Minors.

The idea that JR eats, sleeps and drinks baseball has to be one of the greatest myths in history. If he loved baseball as much as he says he does he would have improved this team this past off season. Obviously, he doesn't care if this team keeps losing.
-
Bad thing is, this losing doesn't bother JR one bit. The team was the worse team in MLB history in 2024 and JR did nothing this past off season to make the team better for this season. It doesn't say too much about his character. He simply wants the team to have a low payroll. Low payroll= big profits. I realize that Getz is doing what he is told to do by JR but that doesn't say much for his character either. If Getz had any character at all he would resign and have some other hand picked stooge take the job.
-
Getz is just doing what he's told to do by JR. They don't care if the team is losing as long as the team has a low payroll. I've pointed out before, low payroll = big profits for owner. This doesn't say much for JRs character. How much money does he need? He's a billionaire. You would think he would be ashamed to have a team so bad but evidently he's not.
-
Is Slater somebody who you would consider long term?
-
So much for our youth movement.
-
Yeah good teams beat bad teams. But did you notice that a bad Angels team swept the Dodgers this weekend? Its disgraceful that the White Sox have lost 8 straight games to the Cubs. Its even more disgraceful that White Sox ownership doesn't care.

I've never seen a player like Robert Jr totally collapse as a hitter. Older players, yes, Robert Jr is young and he looks like he couldn't hit me. What Happened to him? Was it his injuries?. If he keeps this up he might be out of baseball next year.
-
If the Ishbia brothers took over this off season they would sign some free agents which would help the young players the team has now. If they sign 2 outfielders who can hit and a good relief pitcher this would be a much better team.
-
The new owners will be Mat and Justin Ishbia. Needless to say I'm hoping they take over sooner rather than later. I don't think they will move the team out of Chicago.
-
1) The White Sox outfield and DH positions have to have the worse batting averages in MLB. This should have been addressed this off season. Of course JR doesn't care about improving the team. 2) Losing 8 games in a row to the Cubs is another low for the franchise. This Cubs team is a good team but it isn't the 1927 Yankees. Obviously this doesn't bother the management team. But it bothers White Sox fans like myself.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?

The White Sox stadium is 2 different parks. There is nothing bad about the lower deck.(It's great) There is nothing good about the upper deck. Most of it is horrible. -

1) This talk of a new Bears stadium is all over the Chicago media. Nothing is being said about a new White Sox stadium. JR has said nothing. I know enough about JR to know he has some kind of game plan in regards to a new stadium. From what I can see he's waiting for the Bears to officially announce what they are going to do with their new stadium. Perhaps then he will come to some kind of an agreement with the City in regards to a new stadium in the South Loop. If the Bears go to the suburbs I would like to think the City wouldn't want to lose both the Bears and the White Sox. 2) I realize it isn't going to happen but wouldn't you love to see the team have a Soxfest like they had before and have a seminar with JR taking questions from the fans. It would be close to a riot. -
The coaches fixed Vargas just like the coaches fixed Joe Crede years ago. I wonder why they can't fix Robert Jr. He looks completely lost at the plate.
-
1) Robert Jr looks like he couldn't hit me. He was one of the major talents 2 years ago. Unless something really changes I could see him not in the majors shortly. 2) Why did Rojas bat for Elko in the 9th inning? I really get the impression this organization doesn't think highly of Elko.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?

I think the concept of developement around a new Bears stadium in Arlington Heights is a myth. At most a new Bears stadium might have 30 dates. No hotels or restaurants are going to go in there with those few dates. If you put a baseball stadium for the White Sox next to the Bears stadium. I would think that more developement would occur. -
This is suppose to be a rebuild year. It seems like Tim Elko is on the bench more than he has been on the field. Why bring him up if he isn't going to play every day. Haven't we seen enough of Vaughn?
