If Devers would have been traded to the White Sox imagine the positive reaction that would have occured. It would have showed that there is some hope instead of this hopelessness. Some people think the Rockies are going to break the White Sox losing record. From what I'm beginning to see this White Sox team might lose more games than the Rockies this year. And the people who run this organization are fine with it.

I went to the game last night and after the Cardinals scored 5 runs in the 2nd inning alot of the fans went to the concourse areas to buy food. It was $5.00 food night. The fans knew the game was over. By the 8th inning most of the remaining fans left were the Cardinals fans. Last nights White Sox lineup has to be the weakest in MLB. The only person missing was Josh Rojas. If the White Sox offered a trade package of Capra, Slater, Taylor Robert Jr, and Rojas to any MLB team you might get a bag of balls in return. I've always thought this seasons goal was to get as low of a payroll as possible. Next years payroll will be even lower. In the meantime as long as JR is running the show the team is going to keep losing 100 plus games every year. This losing on purpose is so wrong. I wish MLB would step in here and do something about this.

From what I've been reading the fans in Boston aren't too happy with the Devers trade. It was bad enough he was traded they received nothing in return for him. Looks like a complete salary dump.
-
I read where the manager of the White Sox said Baldwin was sent back down because he needs to play every day. He said there is no place for him on this team where he would play every day. Yet we had a lineup last night that had Taylor, Slater and Capra. I wouldn't be surprised if Baldwin and Elko were moved to other organizations.
-
Looks like Baldwin and Elko have no future with the White Sox.

From what I've been reading on reddit, the Red Sox fans are not happy about the Devers trade. This appears to be their white flag trade.
-
I would feel alot better if he announced what he was going to spend the money on.
-
I've written JR a couple of times asking to be interviewed for the GM job. He has never responded to me on the subject. This team would have never been this bad the last few seasons if I was the GM. Of course JR would have fired me simply because I would have never gone along with his program of losing games with a low payroll. Bill Veeck in one of his books said, the future is now. 5 year plans usually lead to more 5 year plans. I believe that losing year after year is crazy.
-
You have mentioned in the past that JR is big on spending O.P.M (Other peoples money) I'm hoping JR is going to spend some of Ishbias money.
-
I could definitely comprehend it. I've been under the impression that Ishbia is going to put some money into the franchise. I just hope we find out if that is true. Whether the money goes towards players or a new stadium, I would feel alot better if something is done by him.
-
Most of the Boston fans and media are screaming their heads off about the Devers trade. Their saying that they received a bag of balls for Devers. I would like to think the White Sox could have sent a bag of balls to Boston for Devers.

When JR bought the White Sox he bought a bad team. First thing he did was sign 2 good free agents Fisk and Luzinski. It was a tremendous PR move. If it wasn't for the 1981 players strike the team was going to draw over 2 million for the first time. They were having walkup crowds of over 20,000 fans at some games.
-
I've been under the impression that the new owner (Ishbia) was suppose to spend some money on the team. Whether its a new stadium, better players or whatever else. Looks like its not going to be on better players.
-
I just read in todays Sun Times that the White Sox have the lowest team Batting Average in MLB. Adding Devers to the team for basically nothing would be a no brainer for me. Not only would he help the team offensively he would plug the hole the team has at 3rd base.
-
You add good players to a team to make it better. This White Sox team has lost numerous close games of no hitting. Devers can hit and play a decent 3rd base. He would have made the team better.
-
I was hoping that Ishbia would start putting some money into the team.
-
Devers didn't want to be a DH. He wanted to play his normal position which is 3rd base. Who would you rather have playing 3rd base for the White Sox, Devers or Josh Rojas? The Giants gave up next to nothing for Devers. The White Sox could have easily made the trade. It was simply a salary dump on Bostons part. The Giants fans have to be happy about this trade. The Giants are picking up Devers heavy contract. I wish the White Sox had done the same thing.
-
I thought with Ishbia buying into the team I'm hoping he pays some money for some good players. It would have been a great PR move for the team if they had traded for Devers. It looks to me like the Giants didn't give up much of anything for Devers.

There were rumors for the past few weeks that Boston was going to trade Devers. I was hoping he would be traded to the White Sox. I don't know what Boston received in return for Devers or how good they are. Still, his bat would have been a welcome addition to the White Sox lineup.

1) The Sun Times in todays paper said that after 60 at bats Elko looked overwhelmed at the plate. So he was sent down again. Kyle Teel looks absolutely lost at the plate. If this keeps this up I wonder if Teel will be sent down. 2) Nice article in todays Sun Times about MLB stadium rankings. It said The Rate is 19th out of 30 MLB parks. That seems to be a fair evaluation.

Arlington Heights making stadium pitch to White Sox?
WBWSF replied to GreatScott82's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I keep reading that Nashville is going to get the next MLB team one way or another. I would think there is a better chance of Portland getting a team before Nashville. The metro Portland area is bigger than Nashville. And from what I've been reading Portland is going to build a MLB stadium and give the team who plays in it a tremendous deal. The team will keep all of the ticket, parking and concession money. The team will have to pay only $300,000 a year to lease the stadium. If all of this is true, Portland will get a MLB team before Nashville. I just hope its not the White Sox. -
Elko was just sent down again. I'm not surprised but still they haven't given him a fair shot. If I was him i would ask to be traded. He obviously doesn't fit into the plans of the team.
