  1. I wasn't head over heels in regards to Elko. I thought the team didn't give him much of a chance. I remember in one game he hit a home run and later in the game he was pinched hit for. Obviously he doesn't figure in the future plans of the team. i would like to see him traded to another team where he will be given a decent chance to succeed which wasn't the case here in Chicago.
  2. Some people thought that Hahn And Getz had the qualifications to be the GM. How has that turned out? I never viewed MLB as rocket science. I think some fan like myself would do a decent job as the GM. If I was the GM and turned out as bad as Hahn and Getz have been I would resign.
  3. I should write Ishbia a letter requesting to be interviewed for the White Sox GM job. I've written JR in the past about wanting an Interview for the GM job but never received a response from him. Perhaps Ishbia will give me that interview. I would give him an interview he would never forget.
  4. 1) I admit that I was happy when the Brewers won the series. Watching those games made me realize how far removed I am from the National League. Most of the Brewers team was a mystery to me. 2) Watching that last game between the Phillies and LA, I found it amazing how that final game ended. That Phillies pitcher did one of the dumbest things in MLB Playoff history by throwing that ball nowhere near the catcher. When I see plays like that I can't help but wonder if the game was fixed.
  5. I just wish he would make an announcement about the stadium. Whether its about the new stadium or staying where they're at.
  6. The owner of the Rockies has said baseball has 3 tiers. Tier #1 has 6 teams who have a real good chance of winning a championship. Tier #2 has 6 teams who might win a championship. Tier#3 has the other 18 teams who have no chance of winning a championship. It's hard to disagree with him on the subject.
  7. I think you're overlooking something. This present franchise is making big money with these low team payrolls. The team almost moved in the past because the team wasn't making money. That's not the case now. If this franchise was losing money JR would sell the team as fast as he could.
  8. I would think the new owner has alot to say about the new stadium. It appears as if he's going to have to pay for the new stadium not JR.
  9. I agree with you. What I don't like about this new stadium situation is the complete silence from the White Sox owner/new owner, It seems to me that something is going on and we're not hearing anything about it.
  10. If Ishiba is going to pay for a new stadium, I would think it would be cheaper to build it in Nashville as opposed to Chicago. If he is in talks with the ISFA I would think it would be about extending the lease. I don't think the ISFA has anything to do with the 78 location.
  11. The Cleveland-Detroit playoff game in Cleveland yesterday only drew 26,000. There were 8,000 empty seats. I realize that the game was played during the week and during the afternoon. Still,I would think MLB can't be too happy with thar low amount of attendance.
  12. I've noticed that the White Sox are putting out ads with the theme "They Believe In Themselves". I can't help but wonder if this is how they are going to promote the 2026 season ad campaign. I thought hey had a very successful 2025 promotion/giveaway season. It will be interesting to see what their promotion/giveaway schedule will be for 2026.
  13. I can understand your feelings. I'm hoping for better results in 2026. With Smith, Schulutz and Bradon Montgomery added to the team and hopefully some more off season additions, the team should be alot better.
  14. The City Council approved the Chicago Fire Stadium. As of now, nothing has been done about the infrastructure around the stadium. I find it difficult to believe that over $900 million dollars of TIF money is going to be built for the infrastructure for 20 Soccor games a year.
  15. The team is in better shape than what they were one year ago. Still, I think the one area that has not looked promising is the starting pitching. Burke and Cannon have not been good. I'm wondering if they are even going to be on the team next year. If not, who will replace them?
  16. I never thought the White Sox would draw what they did this season.I remember the seasons 1966-1971 when the team couldn't draw over one milion fans a year. I would like to think with a better team next year the attendance will start to go back up again.
  17. I think one of the reasons for the attendance is because its affordable going to a White Sox game unlike the other 4 major teams in Chicago. I've noticed on Tuesday nights where they have food items for $5 that it's a tremendous success. I think there are more fans eating the food on the concourses than there are fans sitting in the stands. I've noticed that the team merchandise store usually has different discounts on the merchandise inside the stores on most homestands. The parking and food choices are wonderful. Its simply a nice way to spend a day at the ballpark without going broke. And it should be mentioned also that the stadium giveaways this year were great. I just got home from the game and this Comiskey Park radio is super.
  18. The White Sox didn't give up Benetti. He broke his contract and left on his own.
  19. I've read a number of times that 20% of White Sox fans come by public transportation.
  20. Do you think the Cubs would draw 3 million fans a year if Wrigley Field was located at 35th and Shields? The Northside neighborhood is much different than 35th and Shields..
  21. Most of the 17,000 fans that show up (like me) are from the suburbs. If there were no parking lots most of those fans wouldn't go to the games. Anyways, I hope they move to the 78 and I hope you're right that there will be parking there.
  22. What major changes can you do at the present stadium? Take away the parking that most fans like? You would have to spend millions of dollars to fix that miserable upper deck.
  23. No,I can't imagine the team playing at the present location. It certainly has alot of history in that area. The problem is its not a popular location. If the team doesn't win the team doesn't draw well. Let me point out I don't care where they play. I've been a season ticket holder for close to 35 years. Its been said that 20% of the Cubs attendance comes from out of state. The out of state fans don't take in too many White Sox games. That would change if they moved to the 78.
  24. Someone else is going to pay for it, the new owner. At least I hope so. I can't imagine the new owner wants to stay at the present location.
  25. If Ald, Dowell is opposed to a privately owned White Sox stadium at the 78 she should get a kick in her behind. I would think the City of Chicago would welcome a privately owned baseball stadium with open arms.
