Rays even manage to outpayroll Sox now with HaSeong Kim deal
WBWSF replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It is certainly not a pleasant thing being a White Sox fan now. I try not taking it too seriously. The ownership is content with this losing situation and there's nothing White Sox fans can do about it. -
It seems to me this ownership is happy with the low payroll and the losing team. With the low payroll the White Sox are going to be very profitable for the ownership.

Getz: "We are... building from the ground, up"
WBWSF replied to southsider2k5's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Getz mentioned he seems to think the 2 young lefty pitchers will be here sooner rather than later which should make the team better. In the meantime whos's going to pitch in the bullpen who is any good? The team lacks hitting. Who's going to hit and drive in runs? This just looks to me like its going to be years before this thing ever gets turned around. Becoming the new version of the old St. Louis Browns doesn't appeal to most fans. -
I don't like the present White Sox becoming the new version of the St. Louis Browns. Its obvious that ownership is happy with the low payroll and the losing teams.
-
I realize that Getz was not going to sign Santander or anybody else worth having. Still. I can't help but wonder, who is going to be the White Sox DH in 2025?

Ishbia brothers own small piece of White Sox...
WBWSF replied to Lip Man 1's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He has run the team into the ground but is making nothing but money for the investors with this low team payroll. -
The 2024 White Sox could not hit nor could the bullpen get anybody out. Getz has done nothing to improve those 2 areas. Evidently not improving those areas are part of his master plan and i think its terrible. i wish i could see this nightmare turning around sometime soon but I can't see it happening.

White Sox projected at a $67.1 million OD payroll, 29th in all of MLB
WBWSF replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
That is not counting the national TV money. The total is somewhat near $400 million. Also, some people have said the team hasn't been making money. If the team was losing money JR would sell the team in a heartbeat. -

WBWSF replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
2025 will be one of the most profitable years for the White Sox. Low payroll= big profits for ownership. The team grosses about $400 million. The team lost 100 games in 2018 and was the 6th most profitable team in MLB. They should be in the top 5 most profitable teams in MLB in 2025. -

Obviously JR has accomplished what he wanted. Low payroll and losing team. -
Later in 2025 season - Schultz and Hagen S. as MLB bullpen pieces
WBWSF replied to Fielder Jones's topic in Pale Hose Talk
A team becomes better with better players. When JR bought the team he bought a bad team. He went out and signed Fisk and Luzinski. Those signings made the team better. Now I realize he's not going to sign anybody decent. He wants a low payroll. If this team ever gets a new owner I would expect he would sign some free agents for some big money just to let fans know that better days are coming. Also, has anybody noticed that JR has completely disappeared from the media? He's probably afraid to meet with the media and answer questions about the White Sox. -

WBWSF replied to Fielder Jones's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Both Tanner Scott and Jeff Hoffman are still free agents. They would improve the White Sox bullpen. Looks like the front office has no interest in signing either one or improving the team. This losing on purpose is terrible. -
New ownership might move the team.
-
It would be a tremendous thing from a PR standpoint. Problem is this ownership is content with a losing team and a low payroll. I read yesterday that there are only 3 players on the team making more than $2 million a year. I have no doubt ownership is going to keep having losing teams with low payrolls as long as possible. The franchise looks like it is in its darkest period in their modern history. This looks like a very hopeless situation.

White Sox agree to 1 year deal with INF Josh Rojas
WBWSF replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The 2024 White Sox team had one of the worse offenses and bullpens in their history. Nothing has been added this off season to make those areas better. This losing on purpose is really lousy. I realize that the low payroll will make the franchise one of the most profitable teams in MLB but still this whole situation is shameful. -
They still haven't released their promotion/giveaway schedule for 2025. I would think they would have alot of giveaway days.

Eloy Jimenez signs minor league deal with Tampa Bay
WBWSF replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Eloy could have been the White Sox DH. To the best of my knowledge the team does not have a DH. -
Eloy Jimenez signs minor league deal with Tampa Bay
WBWSF replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
Eloy was never the same hitter after he got hurt in that 2021 Spring Training game. -
Naylor to Arizona; Guardians sign Carlos Santana 1 year/12 mil
WBWSF replied to Buehrle>Wood's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I would think that Cleveland fans have to be upset that Naylor got traded for basically nothing. -
I read where the present White Sox stadium would be given to the females if the White Sox get the new stadium in the South Loop.
-
The 2024 White Sox had the worst offense and bullpen in MLB. They have done nothing to improve these areas. This tells me they are content with this losing situation. We are probably witnessing the worst years in the teams modern history. Its absolutely shameful that this ownership doesn't care about putting a decent product on the field. You would think JR would have the decency to sell the team rather than just keep losing games year after year.
-
It seems like ownership/management are losing games on purpose.

I can't help but wonder, why did Houston trade Tucker?
-
Andrew Benintendi on the trade market (duh)
WBWSF replied to Harold's Leg Lift's topic in Pale Hose Talk
The 2025 White Sox could be worse than the 2024 White Sox team. But with a low payroll this will be one of the most profitable teams in MLB. -
The Bears agreed to tax conditions in Arlington Heights. Looks like some movement is coming.
