Someone called this last November or December but nobody agreed with him. He started to believe the hype. I wonder who that could be

While I liked Mike Sirotka when he pitched for the Sox, after he was traded for D Wells..... a D Wells that was, up to that point in 2001, superior to Mike Sirotka..... he talked about himself like he was Cy Young. I remember him saying something to the effect of ".....I don't know what they're thinking." While all on this board knows how the trade panned out, not many on here can truthfully say they weren't thrilled when they first heard about it. Same with Butter. Butter was much worse though. I remember a real whiny piece where Butter was interviewed by the Sun-Times last season and Butter took this "Whoa Is Me" approach to the interview. A week or two later, he finally gets the call-up that he whined about a few weeks earlier in the Sun-Times interview and proceeds to get owned by Mike "I didn't hit my weight afterwards" Cameron.

I feel better with JM giving the ball to the likes of a Gordon rather than who we had last year with Osuna.

Well, I have a job which affords me the opportunity to know the head of a certain Dept. which organizes a certain function common to every game at USCF. He got me in so I could "browse around"

Yeah..... Mota came off like a real b**** back-pedaling like he was. If you're gonna throw at a guy and he charges, drop your glove and stand there like a man. Mota is a f***ing wimp.

The ending to the Red Hot Chili Peppers Stevie Wonder cover "Higher Ground". Short, to the point, but those two or three measures f***ing rock

I'm beginning to think that Rauch may be a guy who can't handle the pressure when he's fighting for a job. He had similar problems last season when he was fighting for a starter spot. When he was brought up late last season, he was lights-out. There was no pressure for him to perform exceptionally though. Same thing when he was on the Olympic team. He's on the team so there is no pressure..... and he was lights-out in the process. Hopefully Rauch can figure out what's impeding him because I have seen in person what JR can do. When he is on, he's awesome.

I was inside USCF this past January. Most of the renovations are cosmetic this season. The OF steel bordering the scoreboards and advertisements, the light poles, and the underside of the upperdeck roof have been painted black. The interior of the ballpark has been painted gray. The small scoreboards which border the Club Level are being replaced with what appear to be the wrap-around type installed recently in the United Center. I could be wrong about this though..... don't quote me on this. The OF concourses are being redone. Trees and ivy will "green-up" the once stale gray sidewalks. The smokers should enjoy these concourse renovations because sitting benches will be installed to border the tree boxes. HSC told me at SoxFest that a new scoreboard was laying in CF waiting to be erected but I didn't see that when I was there in January. At last sight, the same exploding scoreboard since USCF opened is still in it's place. The upper deck concourses have been redone to mirror the renovations completed to the lower deck concourses last season. The seats are still blue. That's about all I saw. Hope that gives you a mental picture.

The Sox will carry two catchers for Opening Day. Alomar and Olivo will be those two. Alomar will be the starter on Opening Day but his status as starter will be limited because of injuries. By mid-season, Olivo will be the one starting 4-5 games a week. I'd be shocked if Alomar will be able to endure the wear and tear on his knees through May with any amount of playing consistency. Olivo will get the starts he needs whether he's in the minors or the majors.

I'd like to see Vizquel vs. Mesa on Fox's next episode of "Celebrity Boxing"

Good analysis HawkDJ. Loaiza has earned a spot thus far in the rotation. Since DW is having elbow inflammation, it makes sense to move him to the number 5 spot where he'll start fewer games. I must admit, Loaiza has been a very pleasant surprise this ST..... especially since Rauch and Wright have been disappointing.

If this team is in first place at the trading deadline, no way do you trade a guy that will, more than likely, play a role in the team being in first place. And, under no circumstances, do you replace him with a guy who will probably be in the minors all season. I don't care if JB is our future OF'er. No way do you trade a guy that, up to that point, helped get you there. Plus, CLee is one of KW's boys. If anybody goes, it will be Frank Thomas at seasons end. KW will then move CLee to the DH spot freeing up LF for JB in 2004.

My cousin won a car on one of those Pepsi contests about 15 years ago. He was 11 or 12 at the time he won the car so, needless to say, his mom got the car. I was always leery of "Instant Win Contests," but obviously some people out there do win. Congrats

If Aaron's healthy, we go with him. JB himself said that he needs more work in the minors. Now, if JB tops out early on in April and May in the minors, the Organization should bring him up and give him the chance to prove himself in the bigs. Whether you agree with Baggs assessment or not, one thing is for sure..... JB is our future OF'er..... not Rowand. And, if Rowand can't go Opening Day, I would rather the Sox let JB start in CF than Willie Harris..... anybody but Willie Harris.

Great show guys, and the curse is gone..for now I'll second that

You're sounding like Banya now Chisoxfn

Stewart+Shoop=7-9..... if they're lucky. Stewart is the worst QB for a Shoop offense..... and I use the word offense lightly where Shoop is concerned.

Well..... a 40 fits me but it is somewhat tight and the sleeves are slightly higher up than they should be. A 44 is good for me if you do not plan on tucking it in and if you desire room for movement. A 44 seems cooler in the summer too..... especially when the wind blows

JP's having the best game of his career thus far
-
I don't usually disagree with you, but on this I do. Putting MB and BC 1-2 ensures that, if healthy, they can start almost half of the first 60 games. Your 1-2 combo usually start more games per year than your 3-4 and definitely more than your 4-5. MB and BC are our best and they need to be 1-2 in our rotation.

That would be "Beanball" Ben Christensen. Mota should be suspended for 81 games at least for undisputed intentionality.

Kind of like the Tribune Co. laughing at sCrUB fans who care more about ShamME and his HR's and less about W-L

if miles hits like .400 through ST....he could be any worse than harris Didn't Harris hit close to .400 during 2002's ST? I only point this out because we all know what Harris' bat became (exclude his ML debut) when he was called up to the bigs in late 2002.

alright smart ass who told ya that news.... huh... come on now... give it up........the very same person who also brought the news that the seats are gonna stay BLUE no matter how much you hate that fact......lol.... give it up kruzer.. your busted.................. Who told you that Kruzer? Soxfan420? Seriously though, if they put a restaurant in CF, it should be a goddamn HOOTERS!!!!! Wings, beer, and baseball..... mmmmm..... beer Not to mention, an outdoor baseball park and HOOTERS waitresses usually wear WHITE SHIRTS!!!!! C'mon rain..... ..... of course, only after the White Sox have a commanding lead after 5 and 1/2 innings. hey cubkilla what is that supposed to mean? It's a joke man. I like you. I get a kick out of some of your posts. I was thinking TGIFriday's kinda like munchies for all the 420 fanatics. I didn't mean any disrespect. Sorry if I offended you. That wasn't the intent.
