The US and UK offered to "pay the price alone" and France wants none of it..... probably to reap the benefits of the US and UK military work afterwards for themselves. Of course their going to want a piece of the pie. Chirac probably has an eye on one of Saddam's palaces if the US hasn't already blown it up
-
Does it matter? Saddam said he had, and according to the UN-resolution was supposed to have, 0.
-
Funny that article doesn't reflect the, I believe, 72% of Americans that supported military action last night as reported by CNN on this same poll which Ms. Connelly is citing. The 72% was so high it even surprised myself.

The US should introduce a UN-Resolution that states France should rebuild Iraq

Go and vent your anti-US feelings with your Canadian bretheren in Montreal who had the unmitigated classlessness to "BOO" the playing of the US National Anthem during Thursday nights game pal. Remember the furor when the White Sox accidentally flew the Canadian flag upside down during the 1993 AL Playoffs? Hopefully the Canadian press is being bombarded by angry Americans the way angry Canadians bombarded the US press. :fyou

they have been lobbing scuds at kuwait since this started The UN inspectors would have EVENTUALLY found those SCUDS.

Yup. And you guys don't want him back? No. I'd rather have Eustachy. Does anybody want Floyd..... anybody?

Good point..... especially since there is an outside possibility that Dusty Baker could, if the sCrUBS play way above their heads for the first half, load the NL team with sCrUBS. I pity the sCrUB player that makes the NL All-Star team. The booing has got to be ungodly and Sox fans MUST make it unforgetable.

The only "hot seat" Rowand will be on in 2003 is the one he makes for himself if he doesn't put up halfway respectable numbers..... especially with Borchard waiting in the wings. Rowand needs to do something for himself this year to peak interest from other teams. I don't think he'll be with the Sox after this season.

No you don't. Some 70-80% of Americans support this war. If you are the organizer of a protest..... organize. Call the local media and tell them that 10,000+ anti-war protestors are going to protest the war in Grant Park. Notify City Hall and inform them of YOUR LEGAL RIGHT TO ASSEMBLE, along with the expected number, so that police and fire can adequately supply personnel to SAFELY AND PEACEFULLY protect your rights so that you and others can state your anti-war feelings. Trust me, when 10,000+ people show up, the number reported by the Chicago media last night, the media WILL SHOW UP TO DOCUMENT THE FOOTAGE. BTW..... 100 more hypocrites arrested in SF today

Isn't Iowa State where Tim Floyd used to coach?

Keep on preachin' on 420

I wish I could have gone up to some of the protestors in Chicago last night..... the one's with "No Blood For Oil" signs..... who claimed they came all the way from ISU..... exactly how long it takes to walk from ISU to Chicago since they claimed they left early in the AM after their classes were done for the day
-
What victims? All anyone can come up with are little hypotheticals as to why a bunch of pissed off people shouldn't be allowed to march in a street? Sorry, I don't see the argument. It was all over the news last night in Chicago that police and fire personnel were diverting ACROSS THE CITY because of the protestors. There is nothing "hypothetical" about it. This caused a problem which, when all the "if's" are taken into account, from the very minor to the absolute worst, could have been catastrophic.

Conviently forgetting sanctions, I suppose. Some reports have Saddam killing more than 100,000 of his own people during his tyranny. And sanctions are brought on by Saddam willingly invading a neighboring country..... not anything the US willingly did. Well first, the Kuwatis were slant drilling into Iraqi oil fields. Or essentially they were walking into Iraq and stealing millions of dollars from them. If Mexico tried that sort of shenanigan with the US, they, too, would most likely be subject to an ass-whooping. And anyways, the UN-backed sanctions sat there for twelve years and have killed hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqis and no one ever did jack s*** about it. so are you for the war or against whos arguement you trying to fight for here you. just gave enough evidence to give good reason to go to war Doub just stated that if Mexico was slant-drilling into Texas then we would have reason for giving Mexico an "Iraq-esque"..... as he said it..... "ass-whooping."
-
You wanted to give the UN more time to search for Saddam's WOMD..... which he obviously had..... to avoid the Iraq War but you have a problem with the UN-backed sanctions? MAKE UP YOUR MIND MAN!!!!! Either you agree with what you want the UN to do, and subsequently, what they do, or stop using the UN as your reasoning for why the US should not have invaded Iraq. That's like some on this board using the Constitution to tear into the "Patriot Act" but burning the Constitution in regards to the Second Amendment.

Hopefully they're not blocking the fastest route to the doorstep of a dying family member's house when the ambulance can't get through and has to expend precious life-saving seconds averting their route of travel. That's just one thought..... What if someone is dying in an apartment who's door faces the street route for the St. Patrick's Day Parade? I'd say he's pretty damn well screwed. IIIII don't think so. Parade routes are set-up specifically for the expeditious movement of emergency vehicles. Additionally, extra police and fire personnel, along with the necessary paramedics and ambulances are available..... before the parade starts..... in anticipation of parade goers or members of the neighborhood which the parade route passes through falling ill. What happened yesterday in downtown Chicago takes none of this into account and creates a dangerous situation for all the unfortunate victims of circumstance which happen to be in the protest area. Why do you think months are spent specifically for the planning of a parade event?
