Bob has been Reinsdorf's mouthpiece for ages. If he said it, I tend to believe Jerry wanted it out there.
-
It wouldn't have the 1 team shoehorned near the lake, 20 minutes from the Kennedy either.
-
He's made it no secret that he wants to own a team, that baseball is his passion. Nothing you're saying makes any bit of sense, knowing what we know about the team ownership stakes he's already been involved in. You think he's building his Winnetka estate to flip it, too? That's what he does for a living, after all.

Boehly is only 1 investor in Guggenheim/Dodgers, he doesn't control anything like he does with Chelsea.

*Justin Mat lives in the Detroit area, in a house that apparently includes a trampoline park 🤣
-
That's because at the time the Marlins didn't exist and they would've been able to collect TV subscription money from the entire state.
-
They're not building another arena, stop with the nonsense. Wintrust is the perfect size for the Sky.
-
No way in hell is it that long.

LA was a massive upgrade on St. Louis. No upgrade exists on Chicago. He wants a team here.
-
Good thing we're not talking about Mat. Justin owns 22% of UWM but his main business is his private equity firm.

Jerry Reinsdorf open to selling the White Sox per Britt Ghiroli

A willingness to spend is a lot more valuable in baseball. They've also put a ton of their OWN money towards renovating the arena. -

Sucks. Guess he wasn't willing to wait Jerry out, and I don't blame him. -
The Fire draw right around the middle of the league despite being complete garbage and Soldier Field being a soulless hell hole for soccer. They'd have no problem drawing to a ~25k capacity in a stadium closer to trains and with stuff to do around it. https://www.worldfootball.net/attendance/usa-major-league-soccer-2024/1/#google_vignette

Lol what? Try 75-80% This is Chicagoland, after all. -
Well, the 30 clubs share 48% of all locally driven revenue. Meaning there's incentive for teams to hide what they're making to keep it all, rather than 52%.

It was pretty widely reported at the time that: 1) Either company was going to assume US Cellular's contract (there was no actual bid for the naming rights, because a rights fee was already in place) 2) Guaranteed Rate was willing to spend more at the time for other assets (IE: GR Club and 'Presenting' Sponsorship of the team) than Wintrust was

Yes, but times are changing. Cable is dying, and fast. The well is running dry. The Golden Knights, Suns, and Jazz have already moved to a free OTA with available paid streaming app model. More teams will certainly follow, and by the sounds of it, these 3 will.

Ad revenue could increase due to higher availability driving stronger viewership.

They wouldn't go through the trouble of getting it onto free TV only to pull it after a year or 2. Think logically.

The Sky don't need a stadium, they need a practice facility. The Red Stars are the ones actively trying to leave Bridgeview (and the Fire don't want to be forced back there, if New Bears Stadium ever gets done).

Exactly why they aren't moving. Still a top 15 valued team despite 2 decades of neglect. Path to top 10 with the right ownership. Sleeping giant fanbase. Sorry, this team's value isn't increasing in Nashville or Portland.
