The CW is returning to WGN (both NexStar properties now). The independent to watch is WCIU, who just lost The CW, in all likelihood.

Purely speculative, but putting 2 and 2 together. https://twitter.com/soft_toss_lefty/status/1786975786651800003?t=tnt8ZPBaPbGiYJGOlXTwfQ&s=19 The hedge fund that owns Standard Media, operates Bally's. The corp that worked with MLB and the A's to develop the Vegas stadium. Watch out for a casino tie-in for a new White Sox stadium (in Chicago or elsewhere). Future team ownership doesn't seem absurd for the hedge fund.

I don't, unfortunately. AH was dead the second Warren stepped into Halas Hall. He wants nothing to do with moving the team out of the city.

I highly doubt it. The Super Bowl is more than the game, it's about pampering sponsors with elaborate outdoor parties and golf and whatnot.
-
It's pretty clear from everything today that they're focusing on the Lakeside Center site.

Arlington would be a disaster. The Suburb Sox would ideally need to be in/around Oak Brook, accessible to 294, 290, 88, 55, & 355. Arlington will be fine for the Bears, with their STHs concentrated in the NW suburbs and fewer games.

Not in the slightest.

The leagues don't matter, correct, but 14 NL owners would vote NO on conceding Chicago to the Cubs.
-
Sounds like from what?

What makes Lincoln Yards a better location? It's further from downtown and has poor transit accessibility (I spent 2 years living right off the Armitage stop, it's not exactly down the street).

Again, they were not selected for 2 major projects. That was largely out of their control. Painting it as a "failure" to try to force your objective is comical.
-
They were part of the Amazon HQ bid, then bid on the casino. There was also a pandemic in the middle of all that. I'd say they have pretty good reasons to not have started anything, but go on with your s%*# logic.

South Loop folks: We don't have enough restaurants Non-South Loop folks: Nobody is going to go to those restaurants
-
Disagree. If done right, tourists will be drawn to this. Not to mention South Loop residents, UIC students, etc.

I'd be shocked if it's that low. That's 12,345 per game, which would be a 42% decrease. Usually the worst games at least draw about that, just off STHs alone. When you factor in giveaway dates that will still draw, they probably average 18k at a bare minimum.

How is that what you took from the piece? Nashville will get a team eventually. It won't be the White Sox. Their value & annual revenue would immediately drop if they left Chicago. No one is buying a team with a top 15 valuation to move them. You would need such a significant discount (A's level value) for that to make any sense.

And his brother Justin is local.

81 games vs. 8 Catalyst to new neighborhood vs. who knows what the Bears' city plan is

Can we mute the words 'move' and 'Nashville'? They're not going anywhere.
-
That doesn't make any sense. That would mean they only need $500mm for the park, which we all know won't come close.
